Awsome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop replaced a very old Dell Inspiron. The size and weight are perfect. The slim design is fun to use and the battery life is great. I am getting the hang of Windows 10 and the Geek Squad has been a real help in setting it up and answering all my questions. It is super fast is beyond my expectations. Love the 2 in 1 design.

not any better than the old laptops I have
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very disappointed, not what I expected. Thought a new machine would work faster. Not so. Also missed that it does not have a side keypad. Really not nice for hat I do. Struggling with all the setup and downloading - so slow and frequently unsuccessful. Have not even taken the printer out of the box yet..

Posted .- jllb, It's unfortunate to hear that your new 2-in-1 is not performing the way you had hoped it would. Please consider a few steps that will hopefully help your computer perform faster for you: Delete temporary files and directories
1. Click Start, then in the search bar type "disk". Disk Cleanup should appear on the menu above the search box.
2. Run disk cleanup and eliminate unneeded temporary files (Search results, Internet Cache and other windows temp files you may no longer need)
3. Select files you want to delete then click OK to start the cleanup process. Uninstall applications you no longer use 1. Open the Programs and Features application in Control Panel. 2. Scan the list of applications installed for ones that you no longer use. 3. Highlight any application you no longer use and then click the uninstall button at the top of the list. Follow the prompts to uninstall.
4. Repeat for each application you want to uninstall.
5. Move large files and/or seldom used files to backup media (Photos, Music you seldom listen to, application downloads after the application has been installed etc.).
6. Empty the Recycle Bin.

Happy Buyer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a computer to replace my old Dell laptop. I knew what to expect regarding issues like having a back lit keyboard and a reliable machine. The plusses over the last one was that it weighs less, the ability to receive WIFI all over my house is much better and that it does not heat up due to its SSD drive.

Very Good Laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my spouse who was using a windows 7 machine. This laptop is great and windows 10 was easy to navigate. Dell finally got the power button recessed enough that it does turn off when touching the side. Could use another USB port. When you plug in a wireless mouse only one port left. Worth the investment.

Disappointing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am comparing this to an HP Pavillion 360 2-1 m3-u103dx since I also wrote a review on that laptop, and they are both in a similar price range with similar specs. I figured this would be an upgrade from the Pavillion for about the same price as the Pavillion. But here's the straight dope on this one for those so inclined. The Pavillion won for me. Here is why. I love the Pavillion, but what got me to take a chance on the Dell Inspiron 7000 series are the things that allegedly would make this more "future proof" with the usb c port, windows ink compatibility, windows hello feature, the 256gb ssd in addition to the positive reviews albeit a limited sample size since this is a newer release. Well, the "future proof" things may be cool, but the "present things" need a lot of work or maybe it's possible that the Inspiron I received was defective. First off it's never a positive sign when you press the on button right after unboxing and nothing happens. Already a bad sign. These laptops are supposed to have at least 30-50% charge on unboxing. This had none. So I plugged it in and it jumped to 99% charged in about 5 minutes. Also not a good sign. It took about 2 hours to install Windows which is way too long. The continued experience did not improve on the initial hiccups. I found this laptop extremely laborious and exhausting to use: 1) The touchpad is terrible. It has a grainy feel and scrolls poorly. And believe me, I tried every touchpad setting, permutation and algorithm in the knowledge base, and I just could not get it to function as a touchpad should. 2) The CPU lags with the annoying pointer circle. Plus, it froze at times. Drove me nuts! 3) The HD Display is subpar. It is grainy and hard on the eyes. 4) The Maxx Audio is subpar. There are no preset equalizers. The speakers are on the bottom near the front on each side, and the interface is sterile. Not even close to the quality of the Bang & Olufsen HP speakers on the Pavillion as well as the mocha interface. It is stylish and functional. This is all disappointing b/c the build is really nice. It has a really firm feel in the hands. I didn't really like typing on it though. Not like I do on the Pavillion. The fan was pretty loud for the two hours that it was installing Windows, but not annoying. It was tolerable, and it didn't really come on again after the installation even while streaming video so yay. Touchscreen worked fine. Hence the 2 stars. All of these things are better on the Pavillion. These are basic computing requirements that make usability pleasurable and are lacking on the Inspiron regardless of the "future proofness" of it. It is no bueno in my opinion. It was like pulling teeth the use, but I may have had a dud. I'll never know, but I just returned it and got a refund rather than do an exchange and have Best Buy flag me for 90 days if the exchange also was a lemon (thus preventing me from returning a lemon). I'll just stick with my stylish and fully functional Pavillion for now I suppose even though it doesn't have windows ink or windows hello, has half the ssd space and no usb c port. Oh well, win some, lose some. It's still better than this laptop in every other way that counts. This was a disappointing, fatiguing experience. My advice is to look elsewhere or take a gamble on this one. I'll never know if mine was truly defective or this is par for the course for this Inspiron.

I love my new computer!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a fast computer and I just love it. Also love the size. I had a 15 in laptop previously and will not return back to that large size again. I know it has a lot of special features but I have not learned them yet! I purchased the 2yr warranty and have been very happy with the support at Best Buy!!!

Still using the Dell in 2019.... but ....
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Issues: Over time, the mouse pad has become hard to "press"... hard on my fingers. Hovering your hands over the entire keyboard panel and wrist area WILL SELECT options for you if your hand/finger get too close, so I'm regularly having to "undo" things it rushes/selects when I didn't intend to press any button. It had some wireless internet connection difficulties when the provider technician (Fidelity) had no problem connecting with his laptop at my house. I recently raised my internet speed to 250 (getting 150) and 15mbps on upload.... but I can't tell any difference on the Dell. My old (2010) HP, not solid state, is cranking with little speed difference from the Dell. When I bought the "solid State," higher end Dell laptop, I thought it would fly. My husband uses the same model at work with larger multiple screens and add-on keyboard and mouse... no problems.

Awesome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the Dell Inspirion 2-1 is a great Notebook computer and when you switch it to tablet mode it is even better. I like the onscreen keyboard that you can move out of the way. I wish I would have bought a Dell the first time around. They have my business every time I need to get a new computer.
