Pretty Good Upper-Mid-Range 2-in-1 Laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Dell Inspiron 2-in-1 laptop is a pretty good mid to upper range laptop. It has a minimalistic design in silver with black screen and keys. It has a full HD touchscreen display with about ¼ inch bezels on three sides (the bottom bezel is much larger). The screen is very receptive to touch. There is an integrated webcam, but it doesn’t feature a slider to manually close it when not in use, so you’ll need a piece of tape for that if you’re concerned about privacy. Tablet mode is nice, but when in tablet mode the keyboard is facing downward. I don’t like that design as well as others that fold the keyboard to the inside when in tablet mode. Facing down seems much rougher on the keyboard, especially if you set it on a table instead of your lap. The solid state drive enables fast start up and shutdown and the integrated fingerprint reader is a nice touch to quickly log into your machine. There is support for an active pen, but one is not included so that’s an extra expense if you want one. There is an HDMI port, USB 3.1 port, USB 3.1 Type C port, SD card reader and headphone jack on the sides. The fan is quiet and while the laptop did get warm with intense usage, it wasn’t burning hot. Processing power has been adequate and should be able to handle everything except graphics intensive applications like gaming or autocad. This isn’t the most exciting laptop I’ve used, but it does get the job done for most intents and purposes. I would have liked to have seen an active pen included in the box and a webcam cover, but otherwise it’s a pretty worthy 2-in-1 laptop.

Great value! Could be improved..
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Over my 30 year IT career, I've had the chance to work with dozens of laptops and ultrabooks - each having their own strength's and weaknesses. This Dell 2-1 is very strong in most categories - performance, durability, weight, usability, etc but lacks two things. 1. Why did Dell not include an Active Stylus with this device? One of the main reasons I got a 2 in 1 is to work better on Webex presentations - so I can draw concepts and ideas more easily and accurately. Once I purchase a pen ($50-80), I can update the review but would have liked Dell to include one and make it magnetic (like the Surface) so I have a place to store it. 2. Three sides of the very nice screen have "narrow borders". I pretty much expect all devices to have an edge-to-edge display. The bottom margin is nearly 1 1/4" which to me is an incredible waste of screen space. I'm disappointed with this. Other than that - it's been a solid performing device. Touchscreen is responsive to my fingertips, fingerprint reader works well, touch pad is accurate and quick. Battery life is decent for a 3-cell battery but you'll usually need to carry the charger in your bag. The speakers are underneath on the left and right sides near the front and actually sound pretty good for the location and size. The 360 degree feature is cool - and prompts you to go into tablet mode while also disabling the keyboard at the same time. I'm getting used to using this - but will take time. Primarily - this will be my travel laptop - much easier to work on an airplane with this versus a bigger 15" or 17" laptop. The backlit keyboard will allow me to work without interrupting the next person next to me in the airplane without turning on the overhead light. I too had an Microsoft Windows activation problem initially, but it went away upon my second try. I signed in with my O365 account and installed the apps - and was rolling in no time at all! Overall - highly recommended but purchase an Active Stylus if you want to draw.

Good 2 in 1, workable tablet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good 2 in 1. It won't knock your socks off but it seems to be very reliable and a good work horse. I haven't used the tablet function very much but it seems to work fine. The speed, memory and functionality are right on for my needs, but I do see two drawbacks. The battery life is a quite disappointing, it lasts about 3/4 hours tops if you are using it fairly regularly. It gets a bit warm as well and I would repeat what others have said that the fingerprint scanner works about half the time. If you are just looking for a regular 2 in 1 and you can get it on sale, as long as you are ok with those items mentioned above, you will do fine with this unit.

Decent laptop for regular use but pricey
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had it for about a month. It’s on the light side but not entirely lightweight. Build quality could have been better, the seam on the bottom side is uneven, I expected better from Dell but it doesn’t affect anything. Screen bezel is narrow on the sides but broad at the bottom with dell logo, they could have done better. Keyboard has a good feel, trackpad not as good as others but still gets the jobs done. Speakers are very soft, so I use a Bluetooth soundbar. Battery life is decent. Only 1 USB C and 1 USB A. Buy an adapter if required. No Ethernet port. I reset the laptop to remove all preinstalled bloatware which helps with startup and shut down times. I disabled most of the apps from startup as well. It’s not an outstanding laptop but fit for regular use without too much heavy processing. The price is just a little too much would have been great around the $500 range. Purchase when on sale. Definitely not worth forking out $849 at full price.

Like the 2-in-1; fast, touch display, versatile
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm pleased with this and got it on a great sale. It's the updated version of a laptop I previously used. The major change being that it has an SSD rather than a HD. This solved a problem I experienced with the previous computer. Since it's new & I haven't loaded a bunch of stuff on it, everything is much faster although it has also reduced the available storage space. Also, instead of 3 USB ports it has only 1 USB port & a USB-C port. I guess in time I will find that change is a positive one.

Good Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is pretty great. Specs are great. Major downside is that the battery sucks. If you’re using this laptop for a setting where you’re constantly moving around, you can’t do that if you don’t bring your charger with you. The laptop also heats up rather quickly. But other than that performance is great.

Decent laptop with nice screen
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This relatively small laptop is easy to travel with, has a beautiful screen, and a nice keyboard. I love the touch screen, as well as the ability to flip the keyboard backwards to hold the screen as a (large) tablet. What I don't like is the battery life. It's terrible! Maybe 4 hours max. This is also a relatively heavy small laptop - definitely not a Macbook Air!

Great Open Box Purchase!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop as an open box item. The description said it would it was a satisfactory condition item with minor to moderate cosmetic signs of use, possible any signs of use will not impact performance, nonessential parts or accessories may be missing. I picked up the laptop at the store and it was presented to me with no packaging other than a plastic bag. The only item in the plastic bag was the laptop. It came with no box, no manuals and it was missing the power supply. I was disappointed that it did not have the power supply since the description said nonessential parts may be missing. I consider the power supply essential. I was able to find the manual online and used it to get the specs for the power supply. I was able to purchase a inexpensive power supply that allowed me to charge the laptop. There was hardly a scratch anywhere on the laptop. The screen was in perfect shape, not a spot on it anywhere. The laptop is wonderful!!! I love the touch screen and the backlit keyboard. The SSD is so much faster than my previous laptop with standard hard drive. I normally use a 15 inch screen so I thought the 13 inch would be too small. It is actually a good size. Plus the smaller screen makes it not as heavy. I am very pleased with this laptop even though I had to purchase a power cord for it. The money I saved by purchasing it as an open box made this a great deal in the long run.

Strong configuration! Lightweight!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am an Apple user. But I bought this Dell laptop for using some software package that I can’t install in my Mac. This Dell product is definitely great! It’s super light! Good for students, business also. Touch-screen is sensitive. Color is really sharp. However, sometimes its fan is so loud when the laptop runs heavy applications and opens multiple windows. Overall, it’s worth for my purchase.

Great portable computer
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been a great computer for taking with me almost everywhere I go. I'm a teacher so it goes back and forth with me and a Realtor so I'm taking it to appointments and to the office. While it is portable, it also allows me to perform all the tasks I need to very quickly. I've had a few issues and Best Buy was a great help.

Allmost perfect for my needs
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lightweight Fast/responsive Sleek Great touch screen functionality USB-C sport charging capability The only issue I have is the glossy screen is hard to view when bright lights reflect on it. So I need to be conscious of where the sun is when I am using it I bought this open box and got a very good price

Great value, very short battery life
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I base my reviews on the cost of the item. There are obviously more powerful computers out there but probably not at this value. The i5, 8G RAM, and 256 SSD worked very well together. It seemed to be faster than the Lenovo 730 with same specs was running when I’ve used it. 256 GB memory is perfect in my opinion. I don’t store much data besides documents, so that’s plenty for me. With 256, you can still have plenty of movies and all the games you’d like (eg kart games or candy crush, not large games). Plus I hate spending money on memory when it will literally be half the cost by next year. No use wasting money on storage. U get very little bang for your buck. Unfortunately, the battery life was way too short for me. I was getting 3-4 hours when doing regular work stuff like word processing and only 2-3 hours if I was on the net at all. I’m constantly on the move for work and work some out of my car. I don’t have much opportunity to charge the battery. I had to take it back. However, if you are ok with a short battery life, this computer is excellent.

Solid middle of the road choice
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Dell Inspiron 13.3” i5 128 gb SSD laptop about three weeks ago. It was $849.00 when not on sale and I opted to purchase an open-box satisfactory condition for $575. I highly recommend this laptop in general and wouldn’t be scared to buy an open box again. The laptop looked and functioned as brand new. Very sleek, love the 2:1 function, keyboard feels great and it is backlit for when you wanna be classy. Four stars for two reasons: 1) it sometimes has put itself in tablet mode when I don’t have it in tablet mode. This disables the regular keyboard and can be confusing but it really is very simple to resolve. You just go to the lower right hand corner of the screen and make sure to deselect tablet mode so it turns off the tablet mode. The second reason for the four stars is because the battery isn’t awesome. It lasts maybe 6 hours with basic web browsing. Gotta shut it down when not in use or it just drains the battery. The flip side of that is that it does charge very quickly and it boots up very quickly as well. I’m definitely happy with my purchase but would obviously prefer a longer lasting battery.

Fast but battery life sucks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for school, so having a good battery life was important to me. It lasts at most 2 hours. Sometimes the fans kick in and the laptop gets a bit noisy too, but that's tolerable. Only reason I didn't return is because it really is the best in its price range for the specs it has.

A very nice laptop
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I actually love this laptop. I have owned four before it and it is my favorite! I love the touchscreen. It is easy to use. The only reason I gave it a four was it did not recognize my thumbprint after a month. I have to use my pin to get in.

Good light easy to use
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this laptop - everything is great, except (1) fingerprint scanner gets glitchy sometimes and (2) battery life is not very good. Its just ok. Rest of it is great. I keep it plugged in all the time, so dont worry about battery so much.

Nice Upgrade
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was using a pretty basic laptop before, but this has been an awesome upgrade for me! I love how easy it is to use, the fingerprint scanner sign in, the touch screen, the look of it overall. I’ve only had it for a little over a month, but so far it’s so great!

Great going back to a Dell Computer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love Dell computers, my 3rd one. I used other computers for 8 years, and came back to a Dell. The new Dell Inspiron 13 70002 2in 1 has been great, faster easier. My only regret, I didn't check the weight, its heavy to carry around.
