A: Please be aware, you CAN NOT upgrade the RAM on this model, I bought one and I opened the back cover and I noticed the RAM is soldered on the motherboard.
A: Mine was running very hot, so hot the keyboard singed my fingertips, even while using a chiller pad with fans. Just today I found out there's a "feature" in the BIOS called Intel Turbo Boost Max which is enabled by default, and basically overclocks the CPU which causes it to run hot, run the fan all the time, and the fan is NOT enough to cool it down. So I went into the BIOS and disabled this "feature," and now the computer is much cooler and the fan is not running. That might be something to look at.
A: Yes there is also there are 1 USB-C, 1 HDMI, 1 Power port, 1 USB-A (regular usb), 3.5mm headphone jack, and a micro SD slot. Hopes this helps.
Q: Can you plug a mouse in it?
A: You can use a USB mouse or you can use a Bluetooth Mouse to keep the USB port free for other things.
A: The integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics is not meant for heavy duty tasks, like gaming on AAA titles. It will run classic titles like World of Warcraft, Diablo, Half-Life. It will run older popular titles, like pre-Advanced Warfare Call of Duty's, Fallout 3 and NV, Left 4 Dead 1 and 2, and Far Cry 1-4. A few newer games like GTA V, Fortnite, Battlefield 1, should run on this laptop, but at lowest settings and some slight tweaking. However, newer games like Black Ops 4 , COD WW2, and Fallout 76 will not run on the UHD 620. Even if it did, it would not reach playable frame rates. I strongly recommend getting a laptop with an MX150 dedicated graphics card if you plan on doing mainly gaming. It is a good graphics card at a decent price, being able to run mostly every new title out there at low settings and playable frame rates. But if you're getting this instead and have a lot of games to play, I suggest watching the LowSpecGamer, a YouTuber who tweaks games so they can run on lower end hardware smoothly, like on the UHD 620 on this laptop. Also upgrade the RAM on this model to 16 GB as that will help with gaming and everyday multitasking.
Q: This is for a student. Does it come with any Microsoft Software like Office, etc?
A: No , it doesn't but if you have your school email you can go to Microsoft Student 365 and it should have it where you can download Microsoft office at no charge which is great.
Q: Can I add an additional 512 SSD to the laptop?
A: Yes, but you will have to move the current drive to the other slot, after cloning the system first, using an external NVME to USB adapter. SSD slot one fits 2230 and 2280 (unscrew the adapter/bracket under the drive and slide it into the slot a bit further up for 2280), slot two only fits 2230. NVME and SATA are not the same and are not interchangeable. Drive that comes with it is an M.2 NVME PCIE 2230. Currently, I am unable to find NVME 2230 drives available to the general public, they're generally used in enterprise applications, Toshiba makes a 512 gb, good luck finding one.
Q: Does this have a backlit keyboard?
A: Yes
