I bought this for my son for Christmas. In less than a week, it wouldn't boot up. It would do a hardware scan and then restart back to the same scan over and over. I returned it. Best Buy took it back with no problem at all. I bought him a Mac which is what I should have done the first time.

I bought this laptop for my wife and we just turned it on together, i got excited when I saw there was a facial recognition until it told us to restart because of a problem. The screen turned pink with a message saying "just a moment". I realized its like the PC version of the ring of death. I am returning this tomorrow!!!!

Very poor reliability - Has failed to power up three times in six months. Dell has replaced motherboard every time and refuses to replace the PC. Eventually my warranty will run out and I'll be stuck with a dead PC. DO NOT BUY.

The Dell laptop is hard for me to type on. I have to hit the keys hard each time or it will not type the letter. I would like to take it back and get another brand.

I need a Customer Service agent to email me. I bought a laptop that had a technical issue. The Mother Board was replaced. This made the laptop a "refurbished" one, before I have a chance to use it.

    Fantastic Laptop!

I consider myself a pretty tech savvy guy and I am very particular with the devices I decide to spend my money on. I decided to get this laptop when it was on sell right before the holidays and it was a GREAT decision! I must have SSD Hard drives after years of using products with them. The speed difference is very noticeable. I just restarted this laptop and it booted again in seconds! Compared to my 2 year old 13in macbook pro the laptop is obviously slightly heavy in comparison, but the touch screen, stereo speakers, lightning fast speed make up for it. If you are on the fence, BUY THIS LAPTOP!

I bought this computer at the Best Buy store and the man who helped me told me that it was the best computer for the price of a solid state drive. The computer is absolutely the best investment I have ever taken - it does everything I need plus more. It has apps like a tablet, phenomenal touch screen, keyboard like a Mac, high speed, syncs with Apple Music, and so much more. So happy with it! Would buy it again in a heartbeat.

    Great PC

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I'm starting college next year in a computer science program, and this is exactly what I need. First, the price I bought it for is fantastic for all the high-end options this computer has. It's still a great deal even when not on sale. Here are the main points: 1) This PC can be used as a tablet. It's something I wasn't necessarily thinking about while looking up computers but I'm so glad that it has this capability. It transfers seamlessly to Tablet Mode which is actually quite functional on Windows 10. The touchscreen is flawless. I've yet to find any issue with it being unresponsive even to the lightest touches. It does work with a stylus. The resolution is also fantastic (1080p). I can tell the difference between this and my old desktop at 720p. The screen is also completely flat, meaning there's no indentation going from the border to the screen. It makes it seem even bigger than 15.6" and makes tapping things at the edge of the screen easier. 2) The PC is very fast -- I've never experienced any lag. Startup is less than ten seconds thanks to the SSD. It also uses face recognition with an infrared camera, which is often faster than using a password. Again, something I never would have expected to make use of but now appreciate. The RAM is 1x8GB. Some have said that it's 2x4. Maybe some are, but I opened mine up just to be sure. So you can add another 8GB to make it 16 GB if necessary. 3) This also has a back-lit keyboard which will be useful in a dim dorm room. 4)The computer is very slim and sleek. It can easily pass as a much more expensive PC (and it runs like one too!) The touchpad is super responsive. 5) The speakers are better than average and get very loud. I decided to disable the Waves Maxx audio that this PC comes with because it seems to make the sound a little sharper. However, others may like that it can be used to change sound levels. 6) Battery life is adequate. I have been getting 5+ hours on each charge. That's connected to the internet doing regular browsing at medium screen brightness. If that seems like it may not be long enough for you, consider that it takes only 2-2:15 hours to charge from 8%-100%. 7) This PC is also very, very quiet. The fan only kicks in if it's under load. I can often go an hour without it making a peep. I don't intend to use this computer for gaming so I won't comment on that. The processor is able to handle 4k video though. It can probably run most games ... but if you're wanting to game on a laptop then you're probably looking for a more expensive one with a graphics card. This PC is great for students, kids, and those who just want a computer for everyday use. I can also see it working well as a work computer since it's so portable. The only (slightly) negative thing about this is that its size causes it to be awkward to deal with when flipping the screen back for tablet mode. But it's no secret that this is a 15.6" screen, and since it took me a good five minutes to come up with just that one negative point, it's in no way a deal-breaker. I'm so glad I decided on this computer. Feel free to reply if you have any questions!

I initially purchased a competitors laptop from another online store and was soo unhappy with the purchase. I returned it and decided to do some research. I found Best Buys website to be the most informative with the most easy to understand specs, etc. Finally, after reading the reviews, I figured I would try this computer out in the store... and I LOVED IT. I was able to sell Best Buy my 8 year old computer and they gave me a gift card.... and then purchased the new one. I got it home and have been using it without issue since. It's fast, fast fast fast. It's quiet.. the fan hardly ever turns on. It automatically finds other devices (like my printer) and installs the drivers, etc. I didn't have to try and figure out how to get my printer to work.. the computer figured it all out for me!!!! The screen resolution is great and I LOVE HAVING A 15 inch tablet to play CandyCrush on. That is just so cool. My only complaint is it doesn't have a full size keyboard (meaning no 10-key) even though there is enough space for it. But I'm not someone who needs to use a 10-key all the time so it doesn't change the 5 star review. Oh ya, I wish it came in cool colors like Teal or Rose Gold. That would have made it 6 stars. Thanks Dell for making this device and thanks Best Buy for making this purchase so smooth

    Fantastic machine for CS student

I am currently a computer science student at a top liberal arts college. Needed to upgrade my laptop to something more quantitative friendly. The 7th generations i5 chip does the job for my large programs. Decent sized SSD, 8gb RAM makes it super quite and fast. Boot time around 12-15s, probably faster. Web browsing is smooth. One of my favorite features is the keyboard--just the right amount of travel space, keys soft to the touch yet responsive. 2 in 1 is cool for Netflix in the dorm, and the resolution is great. 2 levels of backlighting makes dark environments no problem for working. Overall, a solid machine--a snag for the price when it's on sale. Only con is that the metal top gets dirty from the oil of your hands. Nothing an occasional clean can't fix. This will last me the rest of my college years.

    Amazing

This laptop is amazing. initially I was going to upgrade my MacBook pro 15' (2014) to the refresh unit but for the price and lack of ports I decided to switch to a windows laptop. I seen this dell facing the the mac booth and fell in love with the build quality and the 2-in-1 features. unfortunately this computer doesn't seem as popular as the XPS or some Lenovo's at that but after comparing the units, I could not be any happier with my purchase. it has all the ports that I need including an SD card reader (which I noticed a lot of laptop manufactures are starting to remove from their newer units) and also a FULL HDMI out port. all in all I was nervous because I thought I can never go back to Windows from Mac OS but I am very happy I did! Pros: -Build -Price -Design aesthetics -Size -2-in-1 capability -ports for days Cons: -mouse pad at times doesn't respond the way I want it to -no accessories (Skins, Cases etc.)
