A: If you hold control + alt + delete and take a look at the PERFORMANCE tab under your TASK MANAGER. It will tell you that only 1 of 2 slot is being used. Since the computer comes equipped with 8gb of ram...that means 1 stick of 8gb is used in 1 of the slot leaving another slot available for you to slip in another 8gb stick to increase it to 16gb of ram total. I hope that helps since I see that the previous answer provided is inaccurate.
A: The previous answer is misleading. The ports on either side of the HDMI port are a USB-C and a USB 3.0. USB-C ports happen to come in several (confusing) varieties; the one here has a "DP" symbol next to it, and has DisplayPort capability, even though physically, it's not a DisplayPort- or Mini DisplayPort-shaped port. (Does that clear things up? lol) So, with the right cable or adapter, you can use this USB-C port for DisplayPort functionality. Not that you asked, but it should also be noted that this USB-C port uses the USB 3.0 standard and speed (aka SuperSpeed, aka USB 3.1 Gen 1, to add to the confusion), which is 5 Gbps, as opposed to USB-C ports with the faster USB 3.1 Gen 2 standard (aka SuperSpeed Plus), which can transfer data at 10 Gbps. The most advanced USB-C ports, in addition to having USB 3.1 Gen 2, also have Thunderbolt 3 capability, which allows for 40 Gbps data transfer speeds. Given all these confusing variations, it would be great if you could easily look up the specific capabilities of a certain model's USB-C port. But you can't. The closest thing to documentation for this particular model is here: http://www.dell.com/support/manuals/us/en/19/inspiron-15-7579-2-in-1-laptop/inspiron-15-7579-Setup-Specifications/Left?guid=GUID-BE17E2B5-6071-41F6-854D-E5F526405FA1&lang=en-us (See screenshot if web address gets blocked.)
Q: Does it have a DVD/CD drive?
A: No
Q: Does this laptop have good audio quality? I like to listen to podcast and music and watch movies.
A: Sound quality is outstanding. Much better than my previous Dell notebooks. I have a Bose Soundlink mini but don't use it as much as I did with previous notebooks because the sound is very good from the notebook speakers. I listen to a lot of audio and am very pleased with the sound quality
Q: Is it a very fast computer that won't slow down on me doing school work and or playing an app?
A: I use this for work and I can run multiple things at the same time with no lag. I do a ton of school work type things everyday on this laptop as I am a teacher.
Q: does it come with virus protection on it?
A: This machine runs Windows 10 and it already comes with Windows Defender. For the wary user, it is more than enough and nothing additional is needed.
A: The laptop has one USB one each side of the laptop and an HDMI port on the left side. There also is an SD card slot on the right. You would probably need an external USB splitter/hub to use the setup you outlined.
Q: Does this 2-in-1 have a WEBCAM?
A: yep, a very good one it seems from what I can tell.
