After initial setup it works like a dream...

So I looked at a lot of reviews before replacing my old desktop and decided to get a laptop this time around. I've never purchased a Dell but have heard great things so I decided to go for it. Out of the box I had the same issue many of you have experienced.. no Wifi connection. None. It was as if there was no Wifi hardware in the machine at all. But after reading online and finding the correct driver to install It was up and running. It's fast, the screen is beautiful and a great size. I struggled with getting a 15 inch monitor because my last laptop was 17 and I didn't know if the smaller screen would be an issue. It's not. Window's 10 takes a little getting use to but it seems to be an improvement over its predecessor. It depends on what you are wanting the machine to do.. but if you are working with Word documents, spreadsheets, listening to music, watching movies and cruising the net this is a great machine. Just be prepared to update the driver right out of the box..

    Great all-around laptop.

Great screen size, with plenty of room to rest your palms on. The screen is a little reflective, which is unavoidable due to it being a touch screen. To be honest, I don't really need the touchscreen, but decided to get one just in case. Processor is brilliant for day-to-day tasks, and I usually get 4-6 hours with the battery depending on my usage. The Intel i5 Skylake is awesome, and the HD Graphics is able to play a good range of games (just not on high or ultra settings). I could run Borderlands 2 with medium settings at a decent resolution (IMO) and Saints Row the Third on Medium at 800x600. Will be trying out MGS:V sometime soon. Keyboard is great, and the only keyboards better would probably be on a Macbook Pro/Air. Back-lighting is wonderful and vibrant. I had to send mine in for repair, as the touchscreen suddenly stopped functioning, but I've been overall satisfied my use. I hope that my experience will not be butchered from this point on.

Had the display issues but i fixed them

solid laptop other then the display driver crashing issue that many have reported. Fixed this on my own with out dell support purely on accident while trying to resolve another issue. first make sure you have the latest driver from the dell website a driver was just released on 12/21 the day I bought it. the issues we were having other then the display driver crashing was the screen seeming to dim and brighten randomly on its own. no real rhyme or reason to it. So I went into the power settings as it seemed like it was some kind of power saving thing gone wonky cause the screen would dim even while being used. in the advanced power settings under display there is an option called adaptive screen. turn that off. the screen dimming has been fixed and I was able to set the screen to a constant brightness level that's comfortable. since turning that off not a signle display driver crash for more then 24 hours.. was getting 3 or 4 crashes an hour prior.. Hope this helps someone and saves them from a lengthy depot repair that probably won't fix the issue.

    Excellent Laptop for Students!

I have been using this laptop for a few weeks and I have to say that I made a good choice. Display is nice, vibrant, and full of color. Bonus that it is a touch display as well! Keyboard is centered, which is awesome and the keys are very clicky which makes for great typing all around. The trackpad is accurate as well and it recognizes many gestures. Battery life has been good so far - about 6 to 7 hours on a charge. The only thing that is a downsize for me personally is that the speakers are on the bottom, making it not a great place to hear music, however the speakers are loud enough and sound crisp. The latest processor inside makes for awesome performance and while this isn't a gaming computer, you can play many games just fine on this machine. I love the smoothness and responsiveness that it brings. I think this is an excellent choice for anyone looking to buy a laptop.

Good Value and Performance for Everyday Home Use

I use this for most day-to-day computing needs...email, web surfing, watch ESPN, word processing, spreadsheets, etc. Very happy with the machine. Construction seems solid. The 2-in-1 feature I find useful. Didn't think I'd use it as a tablet, but I find that at times I do and the 2-in-1 comes in handy.

I bought this for school and it does everything i want and then some, my only complaint is that the hard drive is painfully slow. I couldn't deal with it and ended up replacing the hard drive with an SSD and now its running like a dream.

    Color is Off

I love the look and feel of the computer, but the color is off. Even after adjusting the display settings and video card settings to change color, contrast, etc., the colors are still dull and not quite right. Since I need this computer for photo editing, I have to return it and try a different brand. The graphics card also keeps crashing, which is annoying.

I purchased last week, exchanged computer following day for driver issues, (even exchange) still experienced issues with it, took it in AGAIN to add or update driver. Still did not work. Now shopping for another model or brand. Really disappointed, I love Dells.

    Beautiful laptop, terrible support

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

A beautiful and functional 2 in 1 laptop, great display, even has decent sound for a laptop, processor is fast and smooth. Cons: Several problems occurred right out of the box. 1) Auto screen rotation was not working. 2) WiFi would not auto connect when turned on or after the cover was closed. 3) Display would flicker and go black. After four calls to Dell with each ending with them blaming it on the software, two calls to Microsoft, one call to the graphics supplier all blaming each other. Serious note, according to Dell, they do not warranty the software and unless you purchase a warranty to cover the software you are on your own!!! The Geek Squad's answer was to reset to original factory, thus deleting $500.00 plus of my added software, not acceptable! After hours of reading forums I managed to resolve all three issues. Two were driver updates that were needed, the third the rotation issue was registry issue where Microsoft intentionally left out the line allowing the rotation to be turned on (thank you forums)! The laptop now works beautifully. Very disappointed in Dell, Microsoft, Intel HD Graphics and Best Buy for the complete and total lack of support on the machine!

    Amazing Value for a Laptop

2-1 feature is great for flexibility. The 15.6" screen is great for multitasking in split-screen mode but it is a lot to handle as tablet. It's works great for touchscreen mode when it's flat on a table or in an A-Frame style if you've got it on a high surface. Good processor and memory for the size. Personally, I don't think you need more than 500GB HD in a laptop as more and more is going to the cloud.
