The specs on this laptop are pretty good but there are some shortcomings. First, the hard drive is really slow - even for a traditional hard drive. I didn't have the WiFi issues that others complained about but the touchscreen had issues and the laptop become impossible to use. The mouse pad feels loose and wasn't very responsive either. Dell tech support updated the firmware and all is well - so far. Overall, it's a lightweight laptop with a really attractive display that could really use better quality control and a SSD drive.

I was a bit skeptical given that my first Dell had to be returned (it was a different budget model), but secured this 2-in-1 as a Geek Squad Certified open box item at a great price. Super quiet and responsive. The font size given the display causes text to be quite small and custom scaling can lead to some unintended consequences for certain programs. Still getting used to this device and not sure how often I'll actually use it in tablet mode, but something I can live with.

Bought to replace a 10 year old crawling laptop. This one is fast and much lighter. Boot time is 17 seconds.

Got it open box when it was on special so for the discounted price it was worth it. Too large to use as a "tablet" though. I rarely use the touch screen but I've been satisfied with it for basic use.

There's so many choices out there for laptops and notebooks. I figured I can't go wrong with Dell. I've had other Dells that I was very happy with. This is a very nice computer for the money. The response time and program operation is smooth and quick. The sound is good. The battery life is respectable. The touch screen is very nice, responsive. This feels sturdy, the hinge is tight.

I meant to purchase I5558-2144SLV a different Dell model seen this one and thought it was it i should;ve checked the sku. im glad this isnt the model i meant to buy the internet works for literally 3 minutes and then disconnects and displays no available networks and switches itself into airplane mode the only way to get a connection back is by restarting which takes 10 minutes. this is the biggest p o s i've ever dealt with coming from a vaio to a toshiba satellite to this. wow i hope all dell products don't fail straight out of the box.

The Laptop is great once you get past two big hurdles. 1. Dell power options for the Network Card. 2. Updating the drivers for the Network Card The worst part of this laptop is the network drivers need to be updated before it would stay connected to my wireless router at home. I'm using an ASUS Dual Band router and it would not stay connected. In fact the network card would completely disappear. I brought the device to work and connected it the wireless there and it was fine. I updated the drivers and from then on it worked like a charm. If you have some tech savy skills then you could buy this item and not have issues. If you aren't techy, probably best to pick another laptop.

I bought this computer and I took it out of the box...and it wouldn't connect to wifi. Now, there are known issues with Windows 10 (I didn't think I'd have this issue with a new computer, but, here we are) so I Google'd and found a solution...delete the VPN connection. I went through the steps to do that, restarted my computer...I was able to connect to the wifi for literally 60 seconds...and I'm without wifi access again. So needless to say, this computer went back to the store. Luckily I was buying this computer to replace my aging computer but it's not dead yet so I guess I'm back to square one. For the record, I don't blame Dell, I think this is absolutely a Microsoft issue...it just sucks that Dell is losing sales because of it. At this point, I don't feel like I have much choice but to switch to a Mac.

It's really amazing laptop I have ever used :) It's really nice to see it's performance and would recommend to all.

Enjoying the touchscreen so much I plan to get a touchscreen monitor for my desktop computer

After spending 3 days waiting for Best Buy set up Office on this Laptop I brought it home just to find out that it does NOT come with a WiFi! Geek Squad advised me to return it & get a full refund. Once I went back into the store one of their Associates told me this happens a lot with Dell! All the Associates I dealt with were very professional, knowledgeable and courteous every time I came in, but in my opinion why buy a laptop if I can't get on the WiFi. So off to visit their competitor as I don't have another 3 days to wait on getting a new laptop!

I bought this laptop in August and the LCD started flickering within 2 months. I had to send it to Dell support for a piad repair. All in all, if you are planning to buy this, have a backup ready.

Wifi does not work so downloaded new drives on my other laptop and tried to tranfer using usb drive which the computer couldnt read..so used external hard drive which also did not work. Also, once the computer is in sleep mode, it would not start back on unless manually shut down the computer....wasted several hours on this computer...

MUST FOR STUDENTS, LOVE THIS 2IN1 AND features of dell

My luck, I got the lemon laptop with a malfunctioning touch screen. Purchased three weeks ago, and now it will take three weeks to send back to dell for repairs. I hope this is the last of the problems. Otherwise the laptop is nice from what I can tell.

Bought this 2 in1 for my mother. Mainly used for surfing, bill pay, and entertainment. No complaints from her yet, and it also replaced an older iPad.

The best lapto ever, now I gonna change the hard drive and it goes big time better.

This 2-in-1 exceeding my expectations and was just what I was looking for.

Great computer! Only downside is that it does not have a disc drive.
