Owned for 10 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the opportunity to purchase the Dell Inspiron 3511 laptop approximately nine months ago, and while I was initially impressed by its performance and efficient operating system, I was greatly disappointed by the design of the hinges. The device itself performs excellently: the Intel Core i5 processor offers solid performance, the 8GB memory is adequate for most tasks, and the 256GB SSD provides impressive responsiveness. However, the design of the hinges on this laptop is extremely deficient. After normal and careful usage, the hinges began to exhibit problems when opening and closing the laptop. Unfortunately, this design flaw led to the hinges getting damaged, subsequently causing the screen to break. This situation resulted in an extremely frustrating experience as it significantly impacted the device's functionality. It's disappointing to see that a device with good performance is affected by such a fundamental flaw in its design. Despite the efficiency of the operating system, I cannot recommend this laptop due to the weakness in the durability of the hinges. I hope that Dell takes note of this design flaw to enhance the quality of its products in the future. Pros: Good processor performance and SSD speed. Efficient operating system. Cons: Serious design flaw in the hinges. Compromised durability due to this defect. In summary, the Dell Inspiron 3511 offers satisfactory performance, but its hinge design flaw significantly compromises its long-term durability and functionality.

The employee was very respectful. In terms of the laptop, it's not as fancy as Alienware of course. But for a freshman just handling his schoolwork, it's more than enough. All I hope it will run as fast as right now (5 seconds for turning on) after 4 years. Well, let say, safely, 2 years at least.

Its fast and is upgradable. She likes playing the sims and her old laptop just got so slow i decided to upgrade her. Runs the sims and does everything else she needs it too just fine.
