Wouldnt always start if not plugged in

Got a replacement and it mostly starts without being plugged in. Might need to eventually send this one in for getting repaired. Other than that, it is really fast and the graphics are quite OK for the price range.

Excitement turned into disappointment

It has a good processor for everyday activities and good RAM. Although the storage is a little small, it may be enough for many current users if they use any cloud storage service. However, I am giving it a low rate because of a design issue, which, after some use, results in broken hinges and bezels. At first, I thought my daughter could have managed it uncarefully, but after researching, I realized that this issue is happening way too often to other users just to ignore it. Unfortunately, my laptop is out of warranty now, so Dell will not respond to this issue even though, as mentioned before, it is a design issue.

I was going to return it. Geek Squad could figure out problem. After Christmas discounts were gone and they only had an opened box. I didn’t want to get someone else’s problem. The cashier salesperson in computers (Malikiah) worked with me. He was able to get my problem resolved. He told me that when upheld was done, my issue would be fixed. It was! Malikiah was awesome!

I do not know a lot about computers, I am not a tech guy I am a woodworker, half of the spec sheet of this computer is Greek to me. The touch screen is a nice feature, and with 256gb hard drive it has plenty of room for storage, it is fast and has excellent display quality.

Questionable New Computer operation

The battery doesn't seem to last very long. I expected 9 hours and it's more like 3 hours. The 3rd time I turned on the computer and launched Microsoft 365 it immediately went into some weird mode and beeped and the screen locked with a cross. I assumed it was low battery and plugged it in, but that didn't resolve the problem. I let it sit for an hour plugged in and restarted and it seems to be working. Looking up "Inspiron beeps" on the web I found those are error codes. Hopefully it doesn't come back but if so I hope its during the warranty period.

Below I have provided troubleshooting steps to help resolve your issue.
Here are the steps to help improve the battery performance of your laptop:
1. On the notification area of the taskbar, right-click the Battery icon.
2. On the options list, click Power Options.
3. Select a power plan on the battery meter, such as Power Saver or Balanced. Windows 10 has a built-in 'Battery Saver' mode that can be activated to extend your system's battery life. The Battery Saver mode will monitor and limit background activity and other features such as push notifications. You do have the option to enable or disable this mode within settings or within advanced Battery Saver settings, you can customize the mode to best suit your needs.
a) Click on the Action Center icon in the taskbar and select the tile for Battery Saver.
b) If running Cortana, type Battery Saver into the search box and select from the results.
Within the Battery Saver settings page, you will be able to turn on and off the feature and customize the feature to best meet your needs.
c) Turn the Battery Saver On or Off.
d) Additional settings are available via the Battery use and Battery saver settings links.
e) Battery use shows further info on apps and their power usage.
f) Battery Saver Settings screen allows you to customize further the Battery Saver feature.

Going strong after 2 years.

They are still going strong. Now one of them is using it for her College studies. These are great computers I would highly recommend them.
