Very bad experience with this computer. after 11 months. The charging port Became loose and the charging cord can not be inserted in properly in the charging port. I took it to the Geek squad and they told me that they have to replace the whole motherboard because it's al one piece with the charging port. and because I was late for fiw days before taking the computer to the Geek squad I lost my 1 year warranty and the $1500 I spent on it. the charging port is very weak. don't buy this kind of computers coming with C type of charging cord. Even the software has problem of sticking in blue screen at the start

Touchscreen and Active pen would not work out of the box. Terrible quality control. Was on the phone with tech support for over 3 hours. Re-flashed the BIOS, System Updates, and still no luck. Even a full system restore did not work or bring it back. I was advised by tech support to return it to the store. Pretty bad when they tell you to do that. Needless to say, I returned it for the ASUS Rog and couldn't be happier. I wanted to like this laptop but it would not let me. I will never be buying a Dell again. Lesson learned.

      mpan,

Thanks for your review and we're sorry to hear about the overheating that you're experiencing with your new computer. We'd recommend the following tips to help your computer perform at a lower temperature:

      Tips for Proper Usage:

      1. Dell does not recommend placing portable systems directly on your lap. Due to reductions in the thickness of modern portable systems, heat transfer can be an issue.
      2. Using a portable system (Laptop) on a hard, flat, non-cloth surface will increase airflow and reduce heat from underneath and inside the system.
Using the portable system on a blanket, pillow, or other types of cloth will cover up the fan cause the computer to overheat and can cause permanent damage.
      3. It is recommended to use the portable system in a Room temperature of 0°C to 35°C (32°F to 95°F) with a Humidity level no greater than 90%.
      4. Use compressed air to clean the vents on a regular basis.
      5. Using a cooling pad can decrease heat and increase performance.
      6. If you want to know the temperature limitations for your system, go to the Dell Support Website, look up your system model then open the user guide under the manuals link.

Win11 apps crashed frequently right out of the box. Checked updates on apps and drivers, no solutions. Tried factory reset, boot win10 (was given both options on boot) complete disaster. Runs for 2-3mins, crash, blue screen eror, reboot. Tried safe mode reboot, the 5 or 6 options to boot ALL throw an error code saying "something went wrong". Ive had this PC 1 week and will return as soon as i can get to a BB. Always liked dell but not sure if ill get another or something else.

I am extremely frustrated and unhappy because I bought this laptop for my son who is going to college tomorrow and since we were working on it I had observed that it did not get charge. I went to the store Best Buy and the solution is that I have to make an appointment to have it get repaired because it is possible that the port of the connection to charge is damaged. “I have bought a damage computer” and now I have to wait two weeks for it to be repaired and my son needs the computer.

This is the third Dell I've owned and by far the worst. The built in keyboard isn't always recognized by the machine, so it's basically an awkward tablet. When the keyboard randomly disconnects, the screen sometimes goes black and the computer needs to be restarted. It's impossible to get any work done on this machine. I want to get rid of it as soon as I can and will not look into another Dell after this.

      Hello TimS,

Thank you for taking a moment to share your feedback and review. We apologize for the intermittent performance you have with your keyboard and screen. We understand how frustrating this can be and we would love to help you right away. Below are steps that can be used to diagnose the direct issue with your keystroke input.

Here are the recommended steps for troubleshooting your issue:
      1. Run diagnostics on your keyboard, and you have the option to run online or built-in diagnostics (you will need a known good keyboard that is attached to start the diagnostics).
      -Online diagnostics.
      2. Browse to the Online Keyboard Diagnostics page.
      -The test will start automatically.
      3. You may be prompted to install or update the SupportAssist program, if so, follow the prompts.
      4. The keyboard test is an interactive test, and you must press every key to test your keyboard thoroughly.
      5. Make sure to perform the test on the keyboard that is having the issue.

Dell has also released an Intel Power Management Utility to help with the overheating that you may be experiencing on your computer. For this package to take effect, the system power plan must be set to Balanced under the Additional Power Settings. Also, the Power Mode option that is displayed when you click the battery icon, should be set to Better Performance. This package only takes effect on AC power and not on battery power. The Intel Power Management Utility can be found here - http://dell.to/3tStRgX.
