Dell Laptop
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Still a very new purchase, so far it has been excellent. I strongly suggest considering "open box" items, if you check it out, you might be surprised. I saved a considerable amount of money on this laptop. Check the open box ratings and visit the store to physically see the item. This was Geek Squad Certified and in perfect condition.

Posted .Hi Necro,
Thank you very much for your valued feedback. We are glad that you like your Inspiron 7506 2-in-1 laptop when it is in tablet mode, but we are sorry to hear that you have come across trouble when it is used in laptop mode because it is overheating and it doesn’t connect well to the internet.
To help with overheating issue, we would recommend making sure the BIOS is up to date on your PC. I have provided a link to the Drivers and Downloads page so you can check for and do any applicable updates. Dell has also released an Intel Power Management Utility to help with the overheating that you may be experiencing on your computer. For this package to take effect, the system power plan must be set to Balanced under the Additional Power Settings. Also, the Power Mode option that is displayed when you click the battery icon, should be set to Better Performance. This package only takes effect on AC power and not on battery power. The Intel Power Management Utility can be found here - http://dell.to/3tStRgX.
Drivers and Downloads Page: https://dell.to/3tLUgxV
Below, I have also provided some resolutions to WIFI issues. I have included the full article link, which has more options if they are needed.
1. Download and install the latest Wireless Card driver. (https://dell.to/2th3Tpe) After updating the driver, re-establish the connection with the Wireless Access Point and check the wireless performance.
2. If the issue persists, proceed to step 3.
3. Power-cycle the local network. Shut down the Dell system, the Wireless Access Point/Router, and the Modem. Wait a minimum of 60 seconds before powering up the components in the following order:
4. Power ON the Modem and wait for it to boot fully.
5. Power ON the Wireless Access Point/Router and wait for it to boot fully.
6. Power ON the Dell system.
7. Open Network and Sharing Center
8. In the left-side navigation pane, click on Change Adapter Settings
9. Right-click on the wireless connection icon and select Properties followed by the Configure button
10. Under Wireless Options, select the Wireless N mode
11. For Windows 8 or later systems click the Advanced tab and look for 802.11n Mode on the right you will be given the option to Enable or Disable. If the mode is not visible you may need to update your drivers and firmware.
12. From the drop-down menu, choose Disable followed by Ok
13. This should restore the wireless download and upload speed. Internet speed can be tested at http://speedtest.net

It wiped my hard drive with two different individual computers! Battery like was 2 hours max out of the box and the thing got so hot within 5 minutes of using it that it hurt to put on your laptop. Basic Laptop that'll just get by, not impress...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to like this Dell. I've always had an above average to good experience with them. I needed an upgrade for a remote work computer and already have 2 other Dell Laptops at work (those wouldn't fit the bill though). I also illustrate quite a bit so the pen and holder was a really neat option. I bought it and within the first couple of days knew it just wasn't right. Trackpad - I've NEVER had as much problems with a trackpad while typing. I'd be typing and thinks would just start happening, emails getting sent before they were finished, windows flying all over the place. This is because the trackpad is gigantic and your palms will hit it while typing. I lessened the sensitivity to the lowest possible point but always had problems. Screen - The screen just isn't bright. Black is not a rich black and if you are in any sort of a lit outdoor area you're going to be struggling to see things on the screen. There will be no contrast. Those are the two main deal breakers for me. I ended up taking it back to Best Buy and getting the HP Spectre. I've never had an HP before. The Spectre was the exact same cost, comes with a pen, has the same internal hardware, better speakers, and the screen is a 4K. The packaging was also 10x better, much better experience, and Dell should take note if HP can do that for the same price I'm switched for life.

GREAT PRODUCT
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Jonathan was SO VERY helpful and helped me find the perfect laptop to begin my new "work at home" career. He even helped us when the printer we bought to go with it was shipped to us and it came in broken. I desperately needed it, and couldn't wait 2-3 weeks for a replacement. Jonathan helped us find one at another store that we could go pick up same day. VERY friendly staff, clean store, very knowledgeable staff. I am now a new dedicated shopper with Best Buy. THANK YOU!!! Jonathan needs a raise!! Or at least a KUDOS that he IS making a difference for your company - he is a true asset.

Do Not Buy
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was really excited to purchase this laptop as an upgrade from my HP laptop. Big mistake. I wish I would have researched this laptop reviews prior to purchase. On a regular occurrence the mouse sticks on the screen for minutes at a time and will take on a mind of its own. It's completely annoying and happens often. I have owned many laptops in the past (HP) and never had this type of issue. I even paid for Geek Squad to check everything out before shipping me this product, but I guess someone in that department was lazy that day and decided not to work, because I basically paid for nothing, otherwise this issue would have easily been detected. Now I am stuck with a crap computer that I am unable to return. Important to know before considering purchase: When I looked up reviews on this exact model computer on other websites, it seems like everyone else is encountering the same issue with the mouse control having a mind of its own and sticking. This obviously seems to be an issue with all of the Dell Inspiron Computers, not just the one that I purchased. I am writing this review so others do not make the same mistake that I did. Go with a different brand.

Round Three... Coming Soon!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, I have not had the best luck with this laptop. I bought it on 02/22/2021, and it was great! The power adapter plug was a little tough to plug in, and the left USB seemed a bit rough with my USB drives, but everything worked well and it seemed like I had found the perfect laptop. Fast-forward to 02/24/2021, two days later. Everything was still working fine, and I sat it on my desk at about 6pm and closed the lid. At around 9pm, I opened it up to do some more work, and it wouldn't turn on. No lights, no sounds, nothing. After trying for an hour to look up different fixes online, I had tried holding different buttons, plugging in and unplugging, basically everything I could do without unscrewing the back panel and potentially voiding the warranty. No luck. It was a brick. I didn't have a chance to exchange it until Friday, 02/26/2021. I went to my local store at 11am and switched it out for the exact same model. I didn't have much of a chance to set it up until that afternoon, and when I did, the right USB seemed like it may have a loose connection. It worked, but you really had to make sure your connection was plugged in 100%. Since it didn't hold too well, my mouse kept coming unplugged with nearly every movement of the mouse cord. As I began to type my information in, I noticed a few slight deformations in the keyboard. I decided I would ignore them as long as everything worked well. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The "2"/"@" key seemed really stiff and made a snapping sound with every press. This seems like a minor annoyance, except in my line of work, I have to type "@" all day long. I returned "round two" back to the store later that day, and decided I'd give Dell one more chance. Unfortunately, they were out of stock, so I will have to wait until next week to see how things go. I hope my luck isn't horrendous enough to get another defective laptop. If things don't go well, I'm definitely going to have to shop for something else.

Posted .Hello OneMoreTime,
We are sorry to hear that your Inspiron has not quite been meeting expectations and apologize for the inconvenience. Under the circumstances that your system fails to power on, there are some steps you can take to possible resolve your issue. Provided below are instructions to do so.
1. If the computer is displaying the Dell logo and does not move past that point, it has probably failed POST.
2. If the power indicator lights up and it is amber or orange, this is usually an indicator that it has failed POST.
3. If you see text on a black screen, the computer is currently performing the POST. If the computer stays in that condition and does not move past it, it has probably failed POST.
4. If the video screen displayed anything at all during the startup process but is now black, this probably indicates that the computer failed POST.
5. If the computer is beeping or if Caps/Num/Scroll Locks are flashing, note if there is a particular pattern in which it beeps or flashes.
6. If the computer is not beeping and caps/num/scroll locks are not flashing, unplug all connections and remove all media communication devices (e.g. external monitors); reconnect one at a time and check if the computer functions.
7. For a notebook, press and hold the Fn key and then press the power button. This starts the pre-boot testing and will launch ePSA. In case you have a Desktop at the Dell logo screen tap the F12 key to enter One Time Boot Menu and use the arrow keys to highlight Diagnostics and press enter.

Bad, bad, bad touchpad; Random Shutdowns
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this computer for 10 months now. For the first 5 months, the computer had random blue screen shut downs. It would then reboot and mostly be ok, but the random shutdowns were awful to deal with. The touch pad. Oh my goodness. It randomly does not recognize movements or touches for 5, 10, 30 seconds at a time. It's infuriating. You'll be moving the mouse across the screen and the cursor will just stop moving for up to 30 seconds. Then poof, it works again for another minutes or two. It makes the touchpad unusable, and I am forced to carry a mouse everywhere I go. Waking up the laptop randomly takes a long time too. Sometimes it will wake right up. Other times, it will go through an entire startup process even though I merely closed the lid 20 minutes ago. The actual performance (other than the problems above) is good. Do not buy this computer. ESPECIALLY do not use this computer if you ever plan on using the touchpad. It is the worst touchpad and will drive you insane.

Posted .Dear JohnJones,
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review. We sincerely apologize for the problems you have had with your Inspiron 7506 2 in 1. Some Notebooks and Tablets with Keyboards have added gesture features to the touchpad hardware and drivers. A few of these features are two or three finger scrolling, pinch zoom, circle zoom, rotate and swiping. These new features may be the reason for the erratic cursor movement since most are turned on by default. You can disable or modify the way the features work in the touchpad driver properties. Here are some tips to modify these settings:
1. In the Search box, type main.cpl.
2. Touch or click main.cpl in the list of programs.
3. Touch or click the Dell Touchpad tab.
4. Touch or click on the picture of the touchpad.
5. Touch or click Gestures (depending on your computer there may not be a Gestures option).
6. Change the options as preferred.
7. Touch or click Save.
8. Touch or click the X in the upper-right corner to close the Dell Touchpad Utility.
9. Touch or click OK on the Mouse Properties window.
10. If the touchpad still does not work after following the preceding steps, refer to Dell Knowledge Base article - http://dell.to/2iaiujA.
You can read the full article here - http://dell.to/2tqmS02.
As for the sleep mode issues, I have provided the steps to run The Windows Power Troubleshooter to help resolve the sleep mode trouble. I have also provided the full article link, which has more options if they are needed.
