||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop and today 11-09 got $200 back from best buy because it was on sale which made it even better. I had been contemplating returning it to get an HP but after the discount i think ill keep it.

Has not lived up to expectations
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just bought this laptop brand new from best buy. Even though it did not have any reviews yet, it is supposed to have all of the latest and greatest features. However, it seems to be slower than my 3-year old HP and I've changed all of the settings to run for highest performance and I've done all of the updates plus some. Also, the touchpad seems to be messed up. The button on one side clicks weird and the cursor jumps all over the place when typing. I'm considering returning it...but I don't know if I just got a bad one and should try exchanging it or if I should go a different route. But, for $1,600, this thing should be perfect. Recommendations welcome, please. Considering the new surface.

Posted .KAYT,
Thanks for your review and we're sorry that your computer is not performing as well as you hoped it would. Here are the steps to re-calibrate your touchpad if you'd like it to be more exact:
Some Notebooks and Tablets with Keyboards have added gesture features to the touchpad hardware and drivers. A few of these features are two or three finger scrolling, pinch zoom, circle zoom, rotate and swiping. These new features may be the reason for the erratic cursor movement since most are turned on by default. You can disable or modify the way the features work in the touchpad driver properties.
Here are some tips to modify these settings:
1. In the Search box, type main.cpl.
2. Touch or click main.cpl in the list of programs.
3. Touch or click the Dell Touchpad tab.
4. Touch or click on the picture of the touchpad.
5. Touch or click Gestures (depending on your computer there may not be a Gestures option).
6. Change the options as preferred.
7. Touch or click Save.
8. Touch or click the X in the upper-right corner to close the Dell Touchpad Utility.
9. Touch or click OK on the Mouse Properties window.
10. If the touchpad still does not work after following the preceding steps, refer to Dell Knowledge Base article - http://dell.to/2iaiujA.
You can read the full article here - http://dell.to/2tqmS02.
Here are some tips for helping your computer's overall performance in case you have not had a chance to try all of these:
1. Restart your computer regularly.
2. Run the automated tools provided in the SupportAssist Tool.
3. Run a complete hardware diagnostic test.
4. Scan your computer for malware.
5. Restore your Dell computer using Windows System Restore.
6. Reinstall Microsoft Windows.

Our New Dell 7000
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop was purchased for home use, but also to support volunteer work as well. Easy set-up of installed software, as well as porting files, documents and photo's from the existing laptop. Really appreciate the SSD drive capacity, RAM and processor speed, which makes everything run faster.

Great for School/Work
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The fingerprint as well as face recognition are very cool and handy features of this laptop. I also enjoy the built-in camera cover. The screen’s size allows me too program with ease as I have much more visibility with windows. Great graphics and visuals; would highly recommend for a school or work laptop.

Laptop Replacement
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My laptop failed and needed to be replaced. The Geek squad personnel took care of the transition and my new laptop and it was operational in a few days. My cause for loading software not Best Buy. They were great.

No memory card reader as in discriptions.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.JUST AN FYI the memory card reader is for the MICRO memory card not the SD memory cards. I needed a computer that can read the memory card from my cameras not just from a cell phone. Returning without even trying the rest of the computer.

New home computer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Dell replaced my last Dell that was over 5yrs old. This one is fast and much larger memory. Working great so far. No issues. My kids and I use it. No issues with their school work or any of the video calls.

Not a Fan
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a heavy laptop user, I dock it and use it like a PC in addition to traveling with it often. This has been the worst experience with a laptop I've ever had. Even after having it replaced once and spending hours on the phone with Geek Squad. It is slow, overheats constantly, task manager doesn't even allow me to close a program, it sounds like a car having a hard time starting. I have had this laptop for just over a year and now I'm stuck with it! For a $1500 laptop - Dell has lost my business indefinitely.

Good laptop with some drawbacks.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice OS and laptop, but issues started to creep up three weeks after owning it. Crackling speakers, constantly needs updates and resets, and will randomly shut down every now and then. I am considering returning it through warranty.

Posted .MatthewRamos,
Thanks for your review and we're sorry to hear about the issues that you're facing with your new computer. We'd recommend checking the Drivers and Software page for your computer to see if there are any audio updates that will help with your computer's sound quality: https://dell.to/37OWbbz.
If your computer continues to shut down on you, we'd recommend checking the Power Manager for a check box that allows your computer to shut down while in sleep mode in order to conserve energy. If you uncheck this box it should prevent future shut downs that you have not initiated.
Best,
Bryan
