New Laptop

Touchpad constantly freezes, thunderbolt caput

Owned for 1 year when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The thunderbolt port randomly stopped working one day, so it no longer communicates with my recording interface (plain old usb-c devices seem to still work, and yes the recording interface still functions fine with another machine). As this was the main purpose I had for this laptop, it is now completely useless to me. The touchpad/trackpad of this laptop is complete garbage. It intermittently stops accepting input which manifests as a stuck and jittery teleporting cursor. The machine is not freezing, as it can still respond to touchscreen input or a usb mouse. This happens constantly throughout use. Aside from those two major issues, the cooling situation is subpar and it seems to throttle performance. It is a very weak machine despite being outfitted with an i7.

Unsatisfying Purchase

I had to exchange and behold, two days again into the new one, the laptop starts to make the sound of a device plugged and unplugged in the USB port with nothing never plugged/unplugged. This "device is connected" sound mostly happens between two to four times within a minute. The sound is frustrating so again, had to go return the laptop. Now trying it the third time with a lot of anxiety not knowing what to expect that would be the issue with this one.

Thanks for your loyalty to Dell. We'd recommend that you diagnose future Blue Screen Errors with these steps:
1. At the desktop, click the Search the web and Windows box and type "problem reports".
2. Select View all problem reports to view a list of errors that have occurred on your computer and possible solutions for them, such as updating drivers, flashing your system BIOS, or checking for updates to the software.
3. Under the Source column, look for Windows and under Summary, look for Shut down unexpectedly.
4. Right-click the line item and select Check for a solution.
We'd also suggest checking to make sure that your software and drivers are up to date on Dell's Product Page - https://dell.to/37OWbbz.
