I bought this laptop because the specs are nice and it met my needs. Unfortunately, the trackpad in the laptop freezes. At first I thought maybe there was some issue in delivery that may have caused it. I wanted to give it the benefit of doubts. I went in store and exchanged it. The laptop had the exact same issues. It was worse this time because as other have commented, there was a BIOS set up error in the laptop every now and then. The screen also started to glitch. The laptop did not live up to its price. I had to return the laptop.

      Hello Moni,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and review. We apologize for the issues you have encountered with your touchpad and the screen glitching. Some Notebooks and Tablets with Keyboards have added gesture features to the touchpad hardware and drivers. A few of these features are two or three finger scrolling, pinch zoom, circle zoom, rotate and swiping. These new features may be the reason for the erratic cursor movement since most are turned on by default. You can disable or modify the way the features work in the touchpad driver properties. If needed in the future, here are some tips to modify these settings:

      1. In the Search box, type main.cpl.
      2. Touch or click main.cpl in the list of programs.
      3. Touch or click the Dell Touchpad tab.
      4. Touch or click on the picture of the touchpad.
      5. Touch or click Gestures (depending on your computer there may not be a Gestures option).
      6. Change the options as preferred.
      7. Touch or click Save.
      8. Touch or click the X in the upper-right corner to close the Dell Touchpad Utility.
      9. Touch or click OK on the Mouse Properties window.
      10. If the touchpad still does not work after following the preceding steps, refer to Dell Knowledge Base article - http://dell.to/2iaiujA.
      11. You can read the full article here - http://dell.to/2tqmS02.

Lastly, If needed in the future, this link can be used to help run further steps and provide more in-depth information about your screen issue: http://dell.to/2XeDTdr.

    Dell Inspiron Touch Pad/Cursor Issue

Almost immediately, I had problems with the cursor. It would freeze or disappear. An external mouse worked fine, and so, it was determined this was the touch pad. It is frustrating to have to have an external mouse with a laptop. It seems to undermine the purpose of a laptop. As one can see on Google, this is a common problem with Dell Inspirons, and so, I took it back.

      Hi Eliza,

Thank you very much for your valuable feedback. We are sorry to hear that you have come across some troubles with your Dell Inspiron 7506 2-in-1 laptop because it is running hot.

To help with overheating issue, we would recommend making sure the BIOS is up to date on your PC. I have provided a link to the Drivers and Downloads page so you can check for and do any applicable updates. Dell has also released an Intel Power Management Utility to help with the overheating that you may be experiencing on your computer. For this package to take effect, the system power plan must be set to Balanced under the Additional Power Settings. Also, the Power Mode option that is displayed when you click the battery icon, should be set to Better Performance. This package only takes effect on AC power and not on battery power. The Intel Power Management Utility can be found here - http://dell.to/3tStRgX.

purchased for my son for his first year of college. worst decision. have nothing but issues with this laptop. I have spent well over 7 hours with Dell tech support to fix and they have been unable to fix. I have sent back to them once and going to be sending back to them again as it was not fixed the first time. The amount of time I has spent on the phone I could easily have purchased a new computer. Hard drive replaced 2x and now the graphics card. I will never purchase another Dell computer.

This seems like the laptop of your dreams, but once you get it, it becomes a nightmare. It crashes randomly. It overheats right when you turn it on. The “blue screen of death” occurs more times than you are able to use the laptop. Yes, it has some really cool features, but the stress it causes is not worth it, especially for the price. The sad part is Dell and Best Buy aren’t doing much to help their customers. Dell should recall this product and relaunch it after they’ve fixed whatever is wrong with it.

Works very well when it works. I bought this laptop for my son when he started college and it has been nothing but trouble. He reports that the screen goes dark while using it and it just shuts down in the middle of class. Dear Washer,

Thank you very much for your valued feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are not too happy with your Dell Inspiron 7506 2-in-1 laptop because of its video, lack of graphics, and booting issues.

Below I have provided the steps to run a diagnostic test on the display and the full article link, which has more options if they are needed. We also suggest making sure all video drivers are up to date on your PC. I have given you a link to the Drivers and Downloads page for your computer below.

      Method 1
      1. Power off the Dell Laptop PC.
      2. Disconnect any peripherals that are connected to the PC, and connect the AC Adapter (charger) to the PC.
      3. Make sure that the LCD screen is clean (no dust particles are on the surface of the screen).
      4. Press and hold D key and power on the PC to enter LCD built-in self-test (BIST) mode.
Continue to hold the D key until you see the entire screen change colors.
      5. The screen changes colors to black, white, red, green, and blue.
      6. Carefully inspect the screen for abnormalities.
      7. Press Esc key to exit.

I have also provided a link to help resolve the booting issue. On that page, you can choose between, no power, no post, no boot, or no video. Once you choose you can find the options to help troubleshoot and resolve that issue.

Had to exchange it after a week or two because of blue screen crashes, and now after a couple months the replacement is also crashing left and right, won't open certain programs, won't allow me to type in the search bar on the taskbar, and the touchpad works like 75% of the time. Save yourself the wasted time and money and get something else.

Don't buy this laptop!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AT all, it shuts down randomly, working from home this has been rather bothersome, especially when trying to multitask and be on a zoom call and share your screen. Please do yourself a favor and do not buy this laptop - it literally shuts down every other day like the other reviews say. Waste of $1500!
