Good value as long as you know its limitations

This machine is good value for the money, especially with a discount or open box: the combination of specs and form factor (a reasonably powerful 2-in-1) is rare at this price. The processor is strong, the graphics card is decent (especially for creative work), and the RAM is very fast (LPDDR4x). However, I wished Dell had made the display brighter (it's pretty good but not great), and I wished the RAM was upgrade-able. I purchased this because Dell's service manual said it was. Unfortunately it wasn't, so I ended up returning it and buying an XPS 15 because I need the RAM for the large files I work with. Still, definitely worth a look if you're looking for a good 2-in-1 for photo editing but don't want to spend 2 grand or more.

I needed to get a new computer and after shopping at Best Buy and being able to have a hands-on experience, decided that for the price and available software, that this computer met my needs. So far so good.

I want to love this laptop. It's fast, it handles my graphic intensive programs with ease (Illustrator, Corel Draw, Photoshop, Lightroom, Hatch embroidery software). The screen quality is incredible. BUT...I'm getting blue screens and instant reboots constantly. I'm hoping Best Buy will make this right.

Everything doing well so far. Just past the first month after purchase, the laptop started having issues during reboots. It started hanging and not proceeding during startup with no apparent reason. Brought it back to Best Buy and suddenly it just simply turned on. May have been due to pending updates. Have regularly used the Dell utility available on the taskbar. So far no problem. Will update this review subsequently at a later date

I am having the same troubles with this laptop that so many others are having. It started about a month after purchase, and I've had it for 4 months. At least once a week it suddenly goes to a blue screen, saying that an unexpected error has caused it to shut down. The description of the error has something to do with memory. Every time this happens, I run the diagnostic scan that it suggests and it has never - not once - said that there have been any problems detected. I have kept up with Microsoft and Dell updates, I shut it down about once a week (in addition to the times it shuts itself down) and I have run the diagnostic tools in Support Assist - which have also never showed any problems. I chatted and emailed with Dell tech support to try to fix this issue, but after doing more diagnostics he said the hardware was fine - that it must be the software, which apparently is not covered under the 1 year warranty. He gave me a link to get tech support for the software but that would cost $99 - and that would not guarantee a fix. I am so extremely disappointed in this laptop. This should be an amazing 2-in-1 laptop with the touch screen, stylus pen, large hard drive, and fast processor. But to be useful to me, it needs to stay on while I'm using it.

Beautiful laptop with a solid feel and build. Very fast and beautiful screen. My First laptop with an active pen....and now I can’t imagine buying another laptop without this feature. I used to always buy a 17+” screen laptop because I watch movies and like yo store photos, but this laptop with a 15.6” UHD (4K) screen along with the 2-in-1 feature has changed my perception of needing a bigger screen. The weight is a perfect balance between being heavy and having all the features I want/need. I would highly recommend this laptop.

Wow, what a beautiful laptop with all the specs I was looking for! Unfortunately, the first time I turned it on it didn't get past the BIOS check. I was greeted with a BIOS Level error screen showing "Keyboard Initialization Failure." Not a good start! So I thought to myself I can work with it. I ran full diagnostics, and it came back with no errors. I then proceeded to boot up and set up windows and everything worked beautifully. After setting up and fully updating Windows, I updated all the drivers using the Dell tools. There was a "critical BIOS update" that I was prompted to do. Unfortunately, it was not able to update even after letting it run for 6 hours. I cancelled the stalled process and rebooted to again be prompted by the Keyboard Initialization Failure message. I repeated this process one more time with the same issues. I had no choice but to return this laptop back to Best Buy. Really disappointed. Kind of feel like Dell rushed the launch of this product without fully testing things. I'd love to know what the return rate of this laptop is, I suspect it is higher than average reading reviews. Sorry Dell, what they're saying about you in recent years seems to be true: you've lost your reliability. You shouldn't be selling products that aren't ready for primetime.
