Great suction but functionally is a huge step back from earlier designs. You have to force it to stand up straight, hose housing connection to main stem is not a good design. Doesn't want to roll well. I replaced a 10+ old dyson hoping for the same quality but this one is a big disappointment.

This is my 3rd dyson and I absolutely love them! I do feel like this one is made a bit cheaper than my last but it works great so far. My last ones have lasted well over 10 years and actually are still working.

Tile floor. Carpet in the bedrooms up to six dogs and we have the best machine as the canister shows you what we pick up everyday and I am not sure what other machine could do as good as the Dotson has done!

I absolutely love this Dyson vacuum because it picks up dirt and junk that you can't see! I have tried many other vacuums and they don't compare to this one, I highly recommend it, you must try it and see!

I've owned Eureka's, Sharks' and I currently have a Kirby, but this is the BEST vacuum that I've ever owned! It works great on hardwood floors, and with just the touch of a button, you switch to carpet. With the accessories that came with the vacuum, I was able to vacuum my blinds, sofa and big chair with only one pass. The extra attachments are easily applied, just a click of a button to disengage the hose, then another click to engage the accessory. To empty the canister, hold the canister over your trash can, click button and debris fall into the trash. This vacuum has the strongest suction EVER! You can actually see the dust being drawn into the vacuum! I wish I had known about this Dyson Animal 2 when I purchased my Kirby Vacuum, could have save over $1,000 bucks. Highly, highly recommend.

This is my 2nd Dyson animal vacuum. Probably my last. Loved the first one. Changes made to this model are very disappointing. No attachments are attached/easily accessible when sweeping. (Switching from vacuuming to using the wand .). The wand is extremely difficult to reinsert back on the sweeper after use. After finishing sweeping it is difficult to get the handle in a locked position. Therefore the sweeper falls over. Very disappointing after loving my original Dyson

I have tried several vacuums that were specifically for dog hair and none of them have worked as well as the Dyson Ball Animal 2 bagless upright vacuum. I love that the hair doesn't get tangled in the brush.

Bought this to replace 25 yr old Dyaon that no longer works. I prefer the old one but this one gets the job done.

This is an excellent vacuum cleaner and I should know because I have multiple pets and have had a lot of inadequate vacuum cleaners over the years. I highly recommend this vacuum.

This is a great vacuum - I already have one but bought this one as a birthday gift for my daughter. She loves it.

We returned this model due to the amp of suction being so much that the brushes would stop turning on our carpet and made it very hard to push. It’s a good vacuum Just make sure it will work on your type of carpet.

this vacuum is amazing . it removes pet hair like I've never seen before . I'll vacuum today it will fill the canister up . and two days later vacuum again and fills up . alergys are all down in this house

So far it works great. We have 2 cats and 2 dogs so there is always hair everywhere and vacuums don't last us long. We will see how long this one lasts

I got this vacuum at best buy for $299. IT works ABSOLUTELY PERFECT for my home, I have 4 kids. 7 cats. Needs,to be vacuumed at least once a day. Does the job far better than the $1,200 Kirby I bought years ago.

The Ball Animal 2 is my first Dyson vacuum so I didn’t know what to expect. After a few weeks of use, I am amazed by both its capabilities and its flaws. First the good points: 1) Incredible suction. This vacuum cleaner pulls up dust and dog hair like no other vacuum I have ever owned. I am actually embarrassed about how much dirt was in my carpet. 2) Maneuverability. The ball pivot lets me get the Dyson into places that previously required moving of furniture. Excellent feature. Now the bad points: 1) Unusable on plush carpet. Most of my house has berber carpeting and the Ball Animal 2 works great on berber. However I cannot use it in my one room with plush carpet. The vacuum cleaner sucks so hard it sticks to the carpet like a suction cup. 2) Pushing the dirt bin release button too hard dumps dirts all over the vacuum cleaner and the floor. I have already done this twice in 3 weeks and cursed Dyson both times. 3) The power button and the dirt bin release buttons are the same color and very close to each other. See complaint #2. 4) No stand-up lock. Getting the vacuum cleaner to remain in a standing position is frustrating. If you bump it while in the standing position, the Ball Animal 2 easily overcomes the detent and falls down. It has already fallen back on my glass coffee table (luckily nothing broke). 5) The short accessory hose with a long metal tube is very unwieldy. It is really difficult to get into corners with the limited flexibility of the hose/tube. In summary, the cleaning performance of the Dyson Ball Animal 2 is awesome for some types of carpet. The maneuverability is also amazing. However... you will have to live with a lot of very annoying flaws.

Best vacuum I've ever purchased. Maybe it's just the newer technology but my floors have never been cleaner. Picks up dog hair really well.

Excellent vacuum, but hair does get stuck in the roller frequently. Have to take it apart to get the hair out - about once a month or so.

The Ball/Animal picks up ALL of the pet hair in my home. I have 2 Ragdolls that shed regularly and my rugs and furniture are pet hair free. This is the best vacuum I've ever used. Well worth the money.

Only complaint is the use of the hose. Make the base of the hose able to rotate with the direction of the hose while in use. The vacuum wants to tip over while using the hose.

The only reason why I give this product a 4 is because the handheld part attachment is way too long and it does not allow me to clean in closed tight spots such as inside of a cage. Maybe it the long part that you extend did not go inside of the hose in itself.
