Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having multiple Dyson products (air purifiers and this), I can tell you that this vacuum isn’t worth $400. The build quality is not good, it’s flimsy and feels cheap, will barely stay upright and the dust bin flap that keeps it shut broke. This is normal use at my house and not a cleaning business whatsoever. If you have long hair around your house then this is not the vacuum you should get as it tangles in the brush. The dirt bin also leaks so after a while it’ll smell up your house when using the vacuum. Now having hardwood floors I noticed it leaves marks maneuvering on the wood. I was in the market for a 2nd vacuum and I did not choose another Dyson, I went with the Shark Apex and this machine is superior to the Dyson. Having both, Dyson will be now serving upstairs where nobody has long hair and it’s all carpet. Warranty customer support was good though, they sent a replacement bin right away.

The Ball Animal 2 features a hygenic bin emptying mechanism and actually should prevent dirt from going anywhere but the trash bin when you empty. While hair can get tangled around the brushbar, we design the cleanerhead to make the brushbar easy to maintain.
