Extremely powerful and puts my old Kenmore to shame (which was a consumer reports best buy in 2007). I am happy with the performance as it lives up to the hype. However, many parts are complex and or flimsy plastic that doesn't appear under engineered. They didn't use the best type of plastic and or thickness. For example, the power cord is thick and heavy duty, but flexible at the same time. However, when you wrap it up on the vacuum, the parts they used are flimsy. The vacuum canister has a whole on the side that connects it to the lower brush. There is no physical locking seal. Just a foam ring that will wear out.

I have tried MANY vacuums and finally paid up for this one. It is powerful, surprisingly lighter than competitors and can take heavy duty...I love it!

This vacuum has a ridiculous amount of power. It will suck rugs up and curtains so be careful. We have a golden retriever, hairy beast. I have not been able to keep up with his shedding until I bought this vacuum. Thank you Dyson! My only issue was the tools. The hose when you pull it out to use the tools is VERY tight. I fight it every time. Maybe because it’s new, I’m not sure but, that is the only reason I didn’t give it the 5th star. I recommend this vacuum to anyone with furbabies.

What can I say, it’s a Dyson? I actually enjoy vacuuming with this thing. The assembly directions weren’t very clear but I figured it out. It doesn’t work on high pile carpet (a couple of throw rugs the animals like to lay on), but excellent on hard floors and low-pile carpet. It hasn’t clogged once and we have four pets. The attachments are easy to use and work just as well as the vacuum itself. I love this vacuum and would purchase it again.

Has super suction and I have 2 dogs and 2 kids. Had the original one and it took 10 yrs to die. This one is lighter and easier to move around

Lives up to reviews I had read. Prior to using the Dyson, I went over the carpet with our previous vacuum (a high end unit), and the Dyson picked up an equal amount of dirt that was just picked up by the old vacuum. Very satisfied as of now

Although lightweight,it does a great job! Clean out the collection unit regularly to avoid compaction that requires digging and breathing dust.

This is an excellent product. I'm just not sure it's worth $378 (price I paid, including tax-during a sale). It is stylish. The clicks it makes when u attach different tools, or functions is satisfying. The suction is so powerful, when using handheld feasture, that u sometimes need to keep a foot on the vacuum to keep it from falling over. I ended up returning the product and bought a shark instead. Dyson is more powerful and is better, but I don't feel it is worth the extra $230. (The shark was the shark rotator lift-away).

Very nice vacuum, but the suction is so powerful that I was unable to push across my across my carpet. I ended up returning it. I ultimately settled on the Shark rotator lift away bagless vacuum which works great and $150 less.

Great suction power and attachments that actually get used. Second Dyson I have bought, and will keep buying them if they work like this one.

This is hands down the strongest vacuum I've ever owned and it's easy to use. Almost all the attachments store right on the. Vacuum.

Finally got a vacuum that fits the job. I have to German Shepherds and the Animal 2 picks up all their hair. I was given a DC40 as a house warming gift and it did a decent job in picking up my dogs’ hair, but the wire for the roller brush motor broke so I figured upgrade to the right vacuum. The Animal 2 lives up to the hype. If you have shedders like mine, Animal 2 is the way to go. But beware, I don’t recommend using it on long carpets due to the strong suction. I have short carpet so works out for me.

I bought this to replace an old Kirby that I have had for 15 years. The Dyson is relatively light, handles easily and is very powerful.

I love the ease of use and power of this vacuum. Highly recommend and worth the price of purchase.

This vacuum is awesome! Potent suction- slightly lifts the carpet off the ground if you stay too long in a specific area, easy emptying of canister after vacuum, its impressive how much dirt is removed after vacuuming even though it does not appear be all that dirty, like the additional adapters provided, have used all of them, although the hose with adapters does not appear to be as potent as the actual vacuum. A tad on the heavy however easy to maneuver because of its size. I am very very satisfied and happy with this vacuum!

It took me 2 hours to assemble it because the instructions are just pictures and do not indicate necessary steps. It shows to insert the wand into the hose, but does not indicate there is a button that needs to be pushed to allow complete attachment. Words with the details would really help. One piece it showed where it belong but nothing to indicate how. I figured out another piece had to be removed. I has good suction and moves easily from carpet to hardwood to tile. The ball makes it easy to turn and to reach under furniture.

Suction is great. Light weight and easy to maneuver. I have a dog with lots of hair and it cleans very well.

Love this vacuum. It’s actually my second Pet Dustin. The first was not a ball and we only don’t have it because a teenage dog sitter decided to vacuum up dog vomit with it. This is not for liquids! Easy to move with this ball pet dyson from hardwood to thin rugs to thick shag carpet. Although I do have to use some muscle to push through the shag rug because the suction is so strong. My only complaint is that when I try to get it to stand up I really have to force it forward to lock into place. Even though I hear the click like it’s going to lock in place it often falls back over unless I shove it forward to lock.
