I switched from a Eureka to this. I was very impressed at the suction power. Also it is easy to maneuver.

Vacuum was very powerful and did a great job. The downside is it was heavy and hard to push/use! It was also pricey.

Excellent vacuum that transitions well from carpet to hardwood, reasonable weight for stairs, and great for pets.

This vacuum has great suction with a cord that is actually long enough to vacuum the entire house from one outlet.

Incredibly powerful vacuum. I purchased as a replacement for my older Dyson and was completely surprised at how much more this vacuum sucked up right after vacuuming with the older Dyson. I am very pleased with my purchase and this vacuum makes me happy that I chose to stick with Dyson. It really feels good knowing how much cleaner my home is because of it.

I never thought I would invest more than $200.00 for a vacuum cleaner, however you do get what you pay for.My wife vacuums now more than ever before, and she REALLY loves this vacuum cleaner. She's HAPPY , and I'm HAPPY.

The Dyson Animal 2 was $380 marked down from $500 and seemed like a good replacement for our tired Hoover, for which bags are becoming more difficult to find. Having done some research after our purchase it turned out to be a very good choice for the money compared to other Dyson models. A battery operated unit was a non-starter. The suction is great! I had just vacuumed with the Hoover when the Dyson came home and it picked up so much more that the Hoover had missed and continues to do so to a lesser degree as it catches up with repeated vacuuming over the course of the last month. Using the hose can be a little awkward since the extension usually gets removed, but it works very well. The attachments are very good. The unit is easy to clean. The cord is plenty long. It weighs 4 lbs. less than the Hoover. The only downside I can see is that the clip holding the bottom of the dirt separator could break, but 1) it wouldn't stop you from using the vacuum, and 2) they did design the release to prevent it from getting over stressed and snapping off. There are two washable filters that are low maintenance that I find preferable to the Dyson Cinetic's permanent filter - in concept; I have no experience with that model. Hints: The Hoover had a cord retraction system and the Dyson does not; put the cord on the Dyson in a figure-8 pattern to avoid twisting up the cord. Also, an air compressor and nozzle will get the impacted dust out of the cyclone assembly quite well. (I vacuumed the garage's shop vac filter which had minute amounts of oil/road-grime from the dirt it had picked up) No regrets on this purchase.

I’ve had it for a couple of months now and it works great. I had an older Dyson for about 10 years now and finally upgraded it. I’ve used it so far for hard wood, carpet, and even the inside of my car and it works perfect. I think the corded Animal 2 is great for the ordinary household and anything above that isn’t worth it and a bit of a overkill, unless you have the money for it.

Light weight, easy to handle, suction is very good. Great buy!! This our 2nd one. Our first last at least 8 years.

Dyson - Ball Animal 2 is a very powerful vacuum cleaner, it pulls it self across the carpet, and the power head sucks it self to the floor. Dyson says it has the most suction of any vacuum cleaner they are not kidding. Bought because I was waiting for a part for old Dyson DC07 that still work very well. Make sure you clean your filters at the proper intervals Best Buy rocks it was $200.00 dollars off.

I love the instant strong suction of this vacuum and the lightweight turns around furniture/walls and up/down stairs!

I have 4 dogs and two are Huskies! This thing works great. I could literally make two more Huskies with what it picks up. My last vacuum didn't pick up nearly as much from between the carpet fibers. That's all on top of it being so much quieter than my previous vacuum. The bad though is there's no place to store the accompanying accessories. They want to sell you an accessories bag. I guess I'm cheap when it comes to that.

This vacuum is a beast. It will pick up everything. Not cheap but worth it.

Replaced another Dyson vacuum that finally bit the dust after many many years with the Animal 2. This thing is amazing! Especially if you have pets! After my wife used it for the first time... she walked up to me with a handful of dog hair and said, "this is from the second time I vacuumed our bedroom... this thing is AMAZING!!" I know vacuums are not always fun things to buy, but - for this purchase - my wife actually enjoyed vacuuming... and still does! Highly recommend!

This vacuum pulls stuff out of your rugs / sofa / floor that no other vacuum can. The suction is so powerfule that it is actually tough to push this thing across a rug. We have 2 cats - we are picking up piles of hair that our old vacuum (1 year old $200 “deluxe” pet hair model) deemed clean just hours before. Allergies are much better. Build quality and customer support are excellent. Very pricey but worth it

I knew my old Dyson after 10 years wasn't cleaning as well so time for a new one. I have a very furry dog that leaves hair everywhere and this vacuum did amazing. Made me feel bad for the mess the old vacuum was leaving behind. It was easy to use on all surfaces and not hard to push. The extension takes a second to get used to the design. I would recommend this vacuum. Was very easy to put together, my 13 year old actually did it for me.
