While I like the vacuum itself, I can't say much for the instructions. They are shown two different ways, one as photos only, the other with words only. Can't they combine the two to make them easier to understand!

It’s a great vacuum but we use it daily in our restaurant. It is perfect for a home which is why I give it 4 stars. However, it doesn’t last as long with the daily wear and tear of restaurant use. I have to expect that from a regular vacuum. We should get a more industrial type but in the meantime, this does the job.

Pros - strong suction Cons - 1. hard to get to stand up and lock. 2. It cannot pick up dog food, it’s too low and just pushes the food instead of vacuuming it up. You need to use the wand to pick anything up that has any size to it. 3. The power cord is pointed directly at your feet so you constantly step on it while vacuuming. 4. There is so much suction while using the wand you end up pulling the vacuum over if your not holding it. 5. You need to lift the vacuum up to get up on the thinnest rug. 6. The power buttons are flimsy. I don’t expect them to last long. Worst purchase I have made in years.

We're glad to hear that you were so pleased with the 270 air watts of suction this upright vacuum provides. The Ball Animal 2 was designed for homes with pets, with features that dig out dirt and pet hair from your flooring and other surfaces. We wouldn't expect to hear that your machine isn't locking back into the upright position after use. There will generally be two clicks that you should get when putting the vacuum into the upright position. These clicks are not always noticeable unless put into the upright position at a slower speed. I would recommend putting the unit into the upright position at a slower pace in order to listen to the clicks that occur in order to troubleshoot the problem. One click will be the wheels of the vacuum going into place. The second click will be the wheels locking into place. It is important to ensure the second click occurs as without the second click, stabilizer wheels are not able to lock securely into place.
With regard to using the hose, I can confirm that we would essentially expect the hose to become more flexible with time and use. A few tips we can provide would be attaching your accessories directly to your hose, as this will also help expedite stretching the elasticity of the hose. Dyson vacuums are engineered with versatility in mind and attachments may be used on either the wand or directly on the machine itself for added convenience. Also, when stretching the hose out we would recommend starting by stretching the part of the hose that is nearest to the vacuum first when extending this part to clean your home. We would actually recommend checking to ensure the wand is not obstructed and that the hose is not sucking into itself as the hose is not something we would expect to be an issue during use.

Too expensive for product

I tried to vacuum baby formula that spilled and the hose was unable to suck. Im very disappointed in the hose function considering the price of this product. If only bestbuy had longer return policy I would return immediately.

The problem you have described is very unusual as you should have strong suction from the hose when in the upright position. Keep in mind that if the vacuum is reclined, the suction switches to the base.

Awesome Purchase

I didn't know it got any better until I got the Dyson. Amazing what it can pick up. Only downfall is it doesn't have a place on the vacuum to hold any extensions. Sometimes it's nice to put on an extension and take off, and put back on etc.

We needed a second vacuum for our carpeted basement and my wife did not want to carry it up and down the stairs. It is somewhat pricey but they seem to hold up very well and clean very well also.

We bought this to replace our Animal that was purchased in 2008. WE also own an older stick model (cordless). So the only thing I can say is if you are shopping for vacuum cleaners, the price is worth it.

I purchased one in 2014 and it lasted me over 7 years. I read many many many comparisons of “comparable” vacuums to spend less money but went ahead and ultimately purchased another Dyson
