I have two cats and two dogs and this has been the best at getting up pet hair. I have gone through so many vacuums and I am finally glad to get one that really works. Its a great investment.

Suction is great, design could be better. For a $500 vacuum it should have a retractable cord. There’s about five attachments and there’s nowhere to put them. Super difficult to use hand held hose.

I had every generation of Dyson Ball and I can say this one the suction power is greatly increased compare to the previous. I have a great pyrnese so when I say it works trust me it works!

I had to return my first unit one week after purchase, because the seal around the dust bin was very loose causing debris to not fully collect in the bin. I called Dyson and we did a full inspection through video and they determined that the product needed to be replaced. So back to Best Buy I went…. After a very lengthy process the unit was replaced and I feel they gave me a refurbished unit.. Yes the box was sealed, but everything in the box was disorganized, not in the proper packaging, the dust bin still had dust and lint around the edges of the top of the canister, and there’s many scratches up and down the vacuum and the cord as well. Buying a $500 refurbished vacuum is a hard pill to swallow.. I think this will be my final purchase at Best Buy. They are definitely no longer the store or have the reputation that they once carried. I’m very unhappy with Best Buy not the product.

Works as advertised. Great for households that have dogs that shed a lot - like ours. Picks up with just one pass over the hair on the floor. Makes hair clean up very quick and easy.

So, this vacuum is great, but it’s nothing special. I used like an 80$ vacuum before it blew up and got this but honestly it’s not a huge difference. I would say 5/10 I use this on medium height carpet, works well. Hard floor it’s meh

I hate to give this vacuum such a low rating but Dyson really did a terrible job with the design of this vacuum. I have been using a Dyson DC07 for nearly 20 years and it was an amazing vacuum. It finally died and I figured I would get the latest and the greatest upgraded Dyson upright. It was not new and improved at all. If you are coming from a DC07 do yourself a favor and just purchase any other vacuum. The head on the Animal is almost 2" shorter in length than the DC07. I might as well just vacuum my entire house with the hose and stair attachment, it would take just as long as using the tiny head on this machine. That assumes that I dont trip and hit my head on something and die before I finish due to the fact that Dyson decided to have the power cord leave the machine nearly 7" lower than on the DC07 so the cord is always down around your feet in the way of everything you do. And if you are expecting the paper or online manual to have anything other than a vague picture of the machine and the parts with only the words "click" describing how the machine should be assembled then you will be sorely disappointed because Dyson put absolutely zero effort into putting together their manual for this machine. Sad but I will be taking this back and getting a refund and getting something else that is actually functional.

I love the way it moves but I wish it had retractable cord feature.

I wanted to really love this vacuum. I don’t. The suction is great BUT the attachments are very cumbersome to use. The hose does not bend easily, makes it difficult to use

Great on carpets. It’s cumbersome to use on steps though.

This is a heavy machine that is hard to maneuver and doesn’t slide under most furniture but it cleans well. Emptying the bin is a bit awkward and it needs to be held over a large receptacle.

Worked great as far as vacuuming goes. Definitely got up more dirt than anything ive ever used. Brush roller kept coming off when trying to carry up stairs - not sure if user error or bad unit.

Was not happy with this vacuum cleaner, very high-priced, and did not work that well

This is amazing, sucks up even the most embedded dog hair. We were a family of loyal shark vacuum users but not anymore, this works super well

Struggles with pet hair, which is a non-starter for a vacuum at this price (and also called the 'animal'). Fingers crossed this is only a heavy shed month issue.

A lot of cheap plastic and the handle is sharp cheap plastic. It vacuums good but the way the hose pulls out sucks! I expected much better quality my older shark is a much better vacuum for half the price.

Done with Dyson forever. I purchased this last year and unfortunately it was a lemon (no suction, bar not working, and I literally had to hold it together with duct tape). After several months of back and forth with Dyson, they sent me a new vacuum. Fast forward to last month, and just 9 months after the original replacement, the beater bar broke. I went through all of the technological stuff with Dyson. They wanted proof of purchase but best buys online pickup receipt was not enough. It is so frustrating that this company got too big for their own good and customer service is seriously lacking. Their machines have significantly lost quality (did I mention my first 2 Dyson's purchased 25 years ago are still working?!?) So done..STAY clear from Dyson

Quite literally the best vacuum I’ve ever owned. My only complaint is that the hose is a little hard to manuever. Maybe once i break it in more it will work better, though.

Works great! I’ve stuck with Dyson for years and not disappointed with this vacuum. Longer cord than my last one which is great!
