Dyson - Ball Animal 3 Extra Upright Vacuum with 5 accessories - Copper/Silver

I had been wanting to get the Dyson Ball Animal vacuum line for years! I had been using a Shark Ion vacuum, which is great for small spaces, but not very powerful. So when I finally got the Dyson soon after I moved, I couldn't have been more estatic. It's not as easy to handle as my Shark, but boy does it clean!!! The suction is insanely powerful, picking up dust that the shark could never pick up even after several runovers. It's big, but not as heavy as I thought it would be. It's corded, but the cord is so long that it I can vacuum my entire first floor of the townhome from one outlet. A retractable cord would be very nice, but other than that, this really is an amazing vacuum overall! I will say that the suction hose is a bit stiff to maneuver though, but not too bad once you get used to it. Also, getting the vacuum to stand on its own is a bit flimsy, I hope they improve this with future iterations. Overall, I highly recommend! These Dyson vacuums always go on sale for about $100 off every few months, definitely worth the wait!

I love this vacuum!! It’s very powerful! Has great suction, the brush roll picks up a ton of stuff on just the forward push and then if it misses anything it picks up the remaining stuff on the backward pull. We have mostly carpets but it does well on our hard floor in our kitchen to get any crumbs and such. The one flaw is that because it is so powerful even with the head suction adjusted to the least powerful setting it will still try to eat things like bathroom or entry way rugs, though we have no issues with our large area rug. It is a full size upright vacuum so it’s on the heavier side but to me it’s worth it to have the immense amounts of power. Especially compared to very popular stick vacs. The hose stretches very far and with the wand can reach farther then you expect.

PROS: - Vacuum seems well built, and comes with a good selection of attachments, suction is great, (a must for a 4 dog household), and it pretty easy to push around, which happens often... CONS: - I wish it had was a light on the brush head, surprised it doesn't, especially for the price... Would have been 5 stars if this hadn't happened... One of the purple felt strips on the brush head came off after less than 2 weeks of use... Dyson customer support tried to tell me wear and tear wasn't covered, but would sell me a new head, (for $115)... after a little push back, (and maybe a few 'won't be buying another one comments thrown in), I was able to get a free replacement head, so end result was what I expected. This may have been a one off for us, but just a watch out.. you may be calling customer support and arguing about warranty at some point.

Spent 90 minutes watching YouTube videos researching modern vacuums when I got tired of our ancient vacuums from the 90s that no longer even have bags for them. We have pets that shed like nobody’s business and carpet throughout the house that is discolored purely from the amount of animal hair in the carpet. After getting this vacuum home and assembling, I was blown away by the very first pass on our area rug, first of all this vacuum weighs between 15-18lbs (heavy for a vacuum but not unreasonably heavy) and when off rolls over floor with ease, however when I turned it on for the first time I swear it felt like the vacuum instantly weighed 35-40lbs due to the incredible suction! This was the first time I felt like vacuuming could become a workout, (of course you can adjust the height settings to make everything easier if you don’t need as deep and close of a clean). But what really impressed me was the first pass over the rug took it from a charcoal grey to almost Vantablack in the first pass. On top of all this, the roller detangling design is no gimmick even with this crazy amount of pet hair the roller never clogged or got tangled with hair. This vacuum has hands down been the best quality vacuum I have ever purchased or used in my 20+ years of vacuuming experience! May be a little pricey but absolutely worth every penny! Short of installing a jet engine in home vacuum through your walls like a really rich person, I’m convinced this is the best vacuum on the market.

Great suction power, easy to assemble, but heavy compared to previous Dyson ball model and locking the handle in the upright position must be done with extra care or it falls back down…could be undesirable if falling into wall or furniture,
