First off, this is not my first Dyson. We have had Dyson vacuums in our house now for more than ten years. We currently have a Dyson cordless vacuum that we love and this purchase was to replace the Dyson multi-floor that we had been using. It is IMPOSSIBLE to vacuum two rooms with this piece of junk without the brush stopping upwards of twenty times. Yes, we have newer carpet and the pile is fairly thick. But we didn’t model our home after The 70’s Show, so by no means do we have anything close to shag carpet. Our old multi-floor worked just fine on the same carpets. Had a few things on our old multi-floor not broke, we would’ve never replaced it. I have given this heap of junk the benefit of the doubt for a couple weeks now. Figuring that I would learn to live with it. Well forget it! For what these cost, it is going back.

I took it in to Best Buy thinking they would fix it, but it was replaced! I now have a brand new vacuum and I only had to pay the difference in the price from the old to the new. I have had 4 other vacuums prior to my Dyson since living in Las Vegas. None of them survived longer than a year. Dyson is an investment worth making!

A little complex but a good vacuum!

It might be a little complicated and heavy for older people. I couldn’t keep it because it was a little too loud for my nyc apartment and cats. The V7 Motorhead is a great alternative if you’re looking for something a little more simple, lightweight and cordless.

When I turned it on and used it the sound it made made me confident it was doing an excellent job of picking everything up. You can really hear the suction and the brushes. It also has a wider head than my old vacuum so less cleaning time. I now believe all the hype.

If your entire house is carpet and you will ONLY use the main head suction with brush roll, you will love it. HOWEVER, if you have ANY hardwood flooring and have any hope to use the hose attachment, GOOD LUCK. The misleading pictures of some random woman having the hose stretched all the way out and effortlessly cleaning hard to reach places, is 100% false. The hose is so tight that if you pull it out and attempt to clean anything, it springs right back to original form. Not only that while your fighting the hose trying to keep it stretched out, you will pull the vacuum all over the house while also bending over just to clean places you normally wouldnt have to fight to reach. When you finally YANK the hose as hard as you can and grab the middle of it just to keep it halfway out, you also CANT bend the hose at ALL or it pinches off the suction right at the back of the attachment. Literally rendering the entire system USELESS. Do yourself a favor and buy yourself any other vacuum at 1/4 of the price, from a brand that after 70+ years of vacuum innovation, has never managed to completetly fail on a hose attachment LOL. The only good part about this vacuum is that its so flimsy and cheaply built, that you know it will break within 2 years and you can finally buy a different one. Elderly and not-so-in-shape buyers beware, this vacuum will wear you out before you even finish 1 room.

Rest assured, the hose will become more flexible with time and use. Aside from attaching your accessories directly to your hose to stretch the elasticity of this part, we also recommend stretching the part of the hose that is nearest to the vacuum first when extending this part to clean your home.
We would also recommend checking to ensure the wand is not obstructed and that the hose is not sucking into itself as the hose is not something we would expect to be an issue during use.
