The suction power is great, but when there is no way to adjust that power it sucks up the whole edge of the rug. Then the only way to make it work is to try and stand on an edge of the rug or have someone else stand on the edge of the rug, it just isn't user friendly in these situations. If you have lots of carpet of the same type and it is not small rugs, it works great. Would be nice if Dyson came up with a way to dial back all that power and suction for different rug types. Won't buy one again.

The Dyson Ball Multi Floor 2 offers 245 air watts of powerful suction, along with our Dyson Ball technology, which makes it easier to steer into different places with a simple turn of a wrist. Your machine will also feature a wand and extension hose for use with cleaning up high, under furniture and in hard to reach areas. Attachments may be used on both the wand as well as directly on the hose for added versatility.
The cleaner head on this machine is self-adjusting, meaning that it raises and lowers to seal in suction across all floors. Ultimately, the machine being hard to push will likely be the result of suction forming an air tight seal between the cleaner head and the floor.

My first model was purchased in 2008 and I haven't looked to another brand since. In fact, I haven't even needed another since 2008. I'm simply in a bigger space and wanted to have a second unit for different spaces in the home. Love it!

And it takes a strong arm to do so! I loved my old Dyson that finally bit the dust and had hoped I would love this one just as much, but I don’t. I made the stupid mistake of throwing away the box as soon as I assembled it and therefore couldn’t return it. So I’m stuck with it and will try to make the best of it. Besides the problem with using it on carpeting, there is no holder for the tools.

I used to be so impressed with this brand, but it seems that it has lost something - maybe they have started cutting corners, causing it to be less durable.

We are clean freaks, and the first time I vacuumed I was impressed by how much dust and dirt it picked up. Also, the mobility of the dyson was easy to get in tight spots. Best purchase as an adult!!

Also, the hose, which is attached, does not stay "spread out" when your're using it. It tries to spring back tight and often tips the vacuum over. Would I buy this vacuum again, unfortunately, no.

Didn't work on regular plush carpet.

The vacuum kept sucking itself to my carpet and the brush wouldn't roll then either. My carpet is normal living room carpet and not very plush. The only way I could get it to work was by removing the plate on the bottom (per the advice of the Dyson rep on the phone). The vacuum worked and the brush rolled and picked up quite a bit of small dust. However, my boyfriend noted that plate I removed helps to guide peices to the vacuum and wouldn't work well in the long run without it. I ended up returning it and getting a replacement thinking maybe it was just that one but the replacement did the same thing so I returned that one too.

Awesome vacuum

I had the purple dyson vacuum for years and it too was awesome! This one is a bit heavier to haul up and down the stairs but it does a great job.

Our basement just got new carpet/pad installed, which is much higher than the main level (not shag high, just standard carpet length). This vacuum has a tough time handling that height, it can be very difficult to push.
