love our Dyson multi floor 2 vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.so far we love this vacuum. first, the picture was more yellow. not a fan but decided to go with it. When we got it, it was orange color similar to those chrome orange car colors you see. Orange happens to be my favorite color so some points there. putting together was easy. took a second look to figure out how to attach the attachments because I did not realize that there was a piece I had to put on first. kids love how it looks as well and all wanted to use it. of course I had to pull the Dad card and use it first. the cord is a good length. easy to dump out. when I first got to use it, it was late at night so did not want to disturb neighbors. but I wanted to try it out to make sure it turned on. when i turned it on, i was impressed that it was not louder then i thought it would be. it makes noise but it was about half the noise our past vacuums made. I pushed it forward and back and moved over and did that again. about a 3x3 spot or so. we just had our floors done professionally a month ago and we had vacuumed earlier with a Oreck vacuum (the ones used in hotels). and this vacuum picked up a lot in just that small area. then we finished the front room and it was full already. it has a good suction to it and I was impressed. it auto adjust so you don't have too. I also thought that just the top of the cyclone part would be orange (well yellow). but the whole cyclone area is orange. instead of the top part orange and the bottom part grey. so I like that. the hose is also strong and works well. I like that its already there and that it auto switches to the hose when its upright. the hose is part of the handle. so you just slide the back part up and then use it. beats having to pull the hose out of the vacuum and then attaching the plastic part to it to use. with this its already there. then you just pull vacuum down like you normally do to do floors and it switches from the hose to the floor heads. I also like that you can turn the brushes off with a push of a button. so when you do hard floors you turn them off or if you have carpet that may get damaged with the brushes on, you can turn off and use on that carpet. I don't really have anything bad to say about it but I suppose a few mentions. can get caught at times when placing the hose back. you have 2 parts, the bendable plastic part that can stretch out and bend and then the hard plastic wand part. the hard plastic part slides into the bendable part. so you have to make sure the bendable part is straight. you also cant push it all the way in. as you start to slide it in you then push it into the handle of the vacuum and slide it down and lock it into place. not a big deal at all and its easy and just thinking of something to say. again I am impressed and enjoy it. its new so I hope that I can come back and update in 6 months, a year, etc and report back that its still working great. if you are reading this and its been 6 months, a year, etc and no update. then it probably means its still working great as I would definitely try to get on and post if something happens and it stops working or something.

It maneuvers ok and the suction works fine but it falls over easily, especially when using the hose. The cord gets in the way because it has to be removed to use the hose. The extra parts are frustrating to connect and disconnect. The waste basin is tiny. Not enough convenient features for that price.

Decent Vaccum a little heavy

Haven't Used So Frustrating Item For a Long Time

It wouldn't stay upright when you use the tubing tool. It falls down hard when you extend the tubing hose. It takes two people to use the tubing. One holds the $430 "upright" vacuum cleaner so it doesn't fall on the hardwood floor and the other person vacuums. Good bonding time. Bad time management. Tool goes back in too hard into the tubing. Overall this is a joke vacuum. 10/10 looks from far away and 0/10 feel and quality. I would not recommend even to an enemy and I would not buy. Returning.

The cleaner head on this machine is self-adjusting, meaning that it raises and lowers to seal in suction across all floors. Ultimately, the machine being hard to push will likely be the result of suction forming an air tight seal between the cleaner head and the floor. The bin of your vacuum will have a MAX fill line to indicate when it is full and time to empty. We generally will recommend emptying your bin by at least the top MAX line that the bin has. Also, the clear portion of your bin does remove for optional maintenance if desired.

The animal ball 2 had so much suction we couldn’t use it on carpet. Now we just got this one home, got it together and the roller bar will not work. Hit the button to turn it on about 10 times before it came on for about a minute. Then shut off. Won’t work. I’ve had it with Dyson. My 15 year old animal was amazing and until the hose broke was perfect. The quality is garbage now and the price has stayed the same. Such a disappointment and now back to Best Buy for another return. This is totally unacceptable.

Ultimately, the machine being hard to push will likely be the result of suction forming an air tight seal between the cleaner head and the floor. Dyson machines have higher levels of suction power - while this works for a majority of carpets, there are select fibers that may not be compatible. The air seal would be limited due to the suction power of the machine, from the result of the high suction and the self-adjusting feature.

In regards to the hose, I can confirm that we would essentially expect the hose to become more flexible with time and use. A few tips we can provide would be attaching your accessories directly to your hose, as this will also help expedite stretching the elasticity of the hose. Dyson vacuums are engineered with versatility in mind and attachments may be used on either the wand or directly on the machine itself for added convenience. Also, when stretching the hose out we would recommend starting by stretching the part of the hose that is nearest to the vacuum first when extending this part to clean your home. We would actually recommend checking to ensure the wand is not obstructed and that the hose is not sucking into itself as the hose is not something we would expect to be an issue during use.
