    I bought this vacuum almost 8 months ago and it’s already broken. I’ve had cheap $90 vacuums last longer. Don’t waste the money

    This is the first Dyson product I've owned and I see what the hype behind Dyson products is all about. Just the look of the machine says a lot about its quality. Out of the box there were about three pieces to connect. I turned it on and the first thing I notice is the suction power. It cleared everything in its path leaving nothing behind. I love that you can use this on floors and carpet. There's a button next to the power button to shut the suction brush on and off. Turn it on for carpets, turn off for floors(tile, wood, etc). Or choose the way you want use it! I love that option. Then, located in the handle there's a long pole vacuum to use on everything else that just as powerful as the floor vacuum. I like the base being a ball so that you can maneuver around object without having to move them. Emptying dirty can't be any easier also. You just press the button and the bottom of the bin opens and the dirt is gone. One thing I don't like is that when emptying the bin all of the dirt doesn't come out without banging it against the trash can. A lot of dirt gets left behind. If there was a way to rinse that part out after usage that would be lovely. This is not a deal breaker though. If you're thinking of purchasing you will not be disappointed!

    It will not run on my thick carpet and then it also cuts off - the wheek brush, on my area rugs. It also squeaks when I pull backwards.

      Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that in your use, you had an issue with your Dyson Ball Multifloor 2 standing upright. There will generally be two clicks that you should get when putting the vacuum into the upright position. These clicks are not always noticeable unless put into the upright position at a slower speed. I would recommend putting the unit into the upright position at a slower pace in order to listen to the clicks that occur in order to troubleshoot the problem. One click will be the wheels of the vacuum going into place. The second click will be the wheels locking into place. It is important to ensure the second click occurs as without the second click, stabilizer wheels are not able to lock securely into place.

    Wow! I have frequently heard how Dyson's vacuum cleaners deliver superior cleaning services that are second to none. I can now second the notion on how awesome in quality, performance and aesthetics this product is. The Ball Multi Floor 2 does a great job suctioning. I can’t emphasize enough how strong the suctioning mechanism is on this machine. It picks up dirt particles and debris that may be hidden with great force. The overall handling and maneuvering are great. The unit didn’t cause my hands to tire out. I have a cat that sheds hair all over the place. This unit does an amazing job in retrieving my pet’s shed hair. I highly recommend this product because of its superior ability to clean. Dyson backs its vacuums with a great 5 year warranty which says to me that they know the reliability as well as durability of their products. I personally have spent generous amounts for vacuums that didn’t live up to their promised services for the money I spent; as a result, they would “conk” out shortly after the warranty expired which rendered me with a useless piece of junk! However, I believe my ‘misfortunes’ will be reversed with the addition of King Dyson and its services!

    This vacuum cleaner broke after 16 months stopped suctioning and motor seemed ready to give out. We used this product lightly.

    I've owned a number Dyson vacuums over the past 10 years and the new Ball Multi Floor 2 is the best yet. It was super easy to assemble out of the box..literally 3-4 pieces clicked together and you're off and running. We have multiple floor types in our home, hardwood, berber carpeting and some area rugs that are a bit longer shag style. The Multi Floor 2 handled them all with flying colors, and does so automatically. There's no need to adjust anything, just turn it on and the vacuum's head self- adjusts to the floor being cleaned. Another great feature is the easy-to-use wand. It releases quickly and easily, and can extend up to those hard to reach over-head areas. As with most of the Dyson we've owned, this model uses the Ball technology for easy maneuvering. It turns on a dime and gets into all the nooks and crannies. The suction power is incredible, I had wanted to go with the Animal since we have a small dog, but find that the Multi Floor 2 gets all the hair out of the berber or shag carpets without an issue. The only downside I see with this model (and to be fair I'm comparing it to smaller/less powerful Dyson models) is it's a bit heavier than I would have expected. Not overwhelming, my wife thinks I'm just being picky. Overall, the Dyson Ball Multi Floor 2 has been a no brainer...easy to use, super powerful and have not had a single issue. I feel that it's worth the $399 price tag.

    I only used it twice and it doesn’t work very well. It doesn’t have good suction. My cheap vacuum cleaner works so much better than this one.

    Expensive and can’t handle animal messes

    It loose the suction really fast and for a pet vac um it’s not liquid resistant at all so it broke after 3 months of use.

To keep the machine in optimal condition, routine maintenance is required as outlined in the user manual. Depending on your cleaning tasks, you may need to perform the maintenance more often. However, this maintenance is designed to be very easy to follow.

      Also listed in the user manual, is a warning not to use the machine on any liquid as this will cause damage to the cyclone mechanism and may cause motor issues.

    Been using the Dyson along with my wife and we both found it easy to maneuver around furniture and floorboards. Turns on a dime and rolls around easily. Oh, did I mention this thing is really yellow. We have hardwood, carpet and tile in our home. Also a kid, pets, her friends, me, my wife, our friends, so it can get messy. The Dyson went across all three surfaces without missing a beat or loosing any suction power. The cleaner head is one of its best features, works really well. Suction power is insane, easily the best I've ever used on a vacuum and it picks up everything on one pass without going over and back again, saves some time. The instant release wand and hose is good for getting under furniture and the tops you can't really reach, works well and is a handy feature. Also the 31 ft. power cord keeps you from unplugging it and moving it. We can reach pretty much the whole house just moving it once. Dyson has engineered a really great system to empty the canister when you're done. Hold the canister inside a trash can, push the button on top and the bottom opens and emptys itself. No reaching in the canister to clean it out. All in all a really well built, well engineered vacuum that works as advertised and even comes with a five year warranty. Well worth the purchase price and recommended.

    I will be taking this dyson vacumn back because the switch isn't working.. Usually dyson is an excellent vacumn, just not this time.

Your machine, along with offering some of the strongest suction available in our upright line, will feature a self adjusting active base plate which self-adjusts to create optimal contact with every floor type. This reduces air leaks and retains more suction power at the cleaner head. We are sorry to learn that you're having an issue using your machine on your thicker carpeting. Some machines, not just Dysons, may not be compatible with your plush or shag carpeting. In this case you would need to consult with your carpet maker to find out what machines would work best with their flooring. Most carpet makers will have advice on what machines are most compatible with your flooring.

    The assembly was quick, the cord is a good length to reach around corners and furniture. The ball took a bit of getting used to, but it did a remarkable job of allowing us to get into tight spaces. I was able to go back and forth from deep pile carpet, low pile, and tile without missing a beat. Our thinker carpet felt like new. It is a really good vacuum.

    When we used on new Oriental area rugs over hard wood, the suction was too hard and made the vacuum cleaner impossible to move. Too hard to use.

It is very unusual to hear that your machine has already begun to lose suction This can be due to poor airflow, which can happen due to an existing obstruction or dirty filters. This blockage of airflow can also result with a loss of suction. I am happy to let you know that most blockages are simple to remove and we find that most problems may be resolved through simple, yet effective troubleshooting at home.
