This vacuum last is 5 years before the motor blew out. We are hard on it as we have several pets. Downside is after the first year it never worked quite as well.

We have owned Dyson vacuums for over a decade now and they are great! This one totally sucks (ha)!

This Dyson vacuum is a great vacuum. It does what it says it'll do with ease. However I don't feel it is worth the price compared to other vacuums with similar specs. My vacuum before I got this performs just as well as the Dyson but only cost a third of the price. But other than the price it is a great vacuum.

Dyson made a great investment in buying the vacuum. I feel like it was definitely worth the purchase. Will try their other products too.

I live in an old Brooklyn apartment with hard wood floors.. I could sweep and swiffer 20 times a day and still see tons of dirt on my socks. So I decided to look for a vacuum that would do the work I couldn't with a broom. I have always wanted a DYSON but thought they were too pricey. But after months of research, I thought it would be worth the investment. So I purchased this one. It did not disappoint. I could not believe It. Because I swept the floor first. Then vacuumed to see if anything would be left for the vacuum to pick up. I was SHOCKED at how much dirt and dust was in the canister. The only "CON" I have is that it is really noisy and the floor feels like its vibrating. But that's probably just because of the powerful motor. Other than that, it is powerful and does everything it says. I even noticed I am not sneezing as much. So it must really be getting the dust caught in the floor boards that the broom is pushing into that spot. Just buy it..

I’ve been using this for 3 weeks now! A little too early to say it will last long, but it does a great job of picking up stuff off of our rugs and carpets! Strangely it smells similar to a new car which I thought was pretty nice! I use it every day and it does very well!

Having had a Dyson previously I had high hopes for this unit to be better in about every way. The multi floor 2 is maneuverable on par with other Dyson units previously. Its not too heave and is easy to use. While the cleaning power is good, it is not great compared to other units I have tried including the current machine I have by another manufacturer. Also, the hose attachment is a little clunky and not as manageable. Overall this is a good vacuum but probably not the best in its price range.

I had high hopes for this vacuum after reading all the great reviews but an hour after using it I was calling customer service. The roller brush would stop working on my carpet after a few seconds.I tried all surfaces, carpet and hardwood and the vacuum worked fine but on my oriental carpets it would stop. Very disappointing for an expensive machine. Customer service was great. I called and there was a long wait so I left my number and I was amazed that a rep called me back in 20 minutes. I explained my problem and he walked me through the steps to fix my vacuum. There is a very small gasket that is in the vaccum head that causes suction and I had to remove the gasket to decrease the suction a little. I was amazed to find the vaccum worked after removing the gasket. The suction was great and the dirt removed from my floors was unbelievable. The vaccum itself seems cheap and plasticy compared to my old vacuums. The hose takes some getting used to and is awkward. The customer service rep suggested I take the hose and keep it wrapped around the vacuum to stretch it. Over all happy with the vaccuum. It takes practice to get used to it. Definitely has room for improvement. Customer service was amazing right away. My house feels cleaner than it has for years.

Great suction, but the cord is too short and the canister is too small, also the mechanism that keeps the unit upright is not very strong and lets it fall off upright too easily

High powered vacuum with good rear exhaust. It doesn't blow dust everywhere after it has approach and generate it with the brush roller.

Incredible suction. Almost too powerful. The instructions are a bit complicated.

Great! MY wood floors look dust free! Easy to use. A little heavier than I expected.

Received this for Christmas, seems like it’s good quality and good suction but it won’t vacuum my living room area rug, it just wants to suck it up. It is low ply. If you are only using this on hard floors I think it would be a good purchase, but not good on carpets or rugs.

This vacuums suction is amazing, if you want really clean floors this is the vacuum you need, Does really good on carpet and hard floors, I would vacuum twice a week with my bissel thinking my floors were clean until I used my dyson, it literally picked up so much dirt and dust that my other vacuum wasn’t picking up

I am sad to say that Dyson products are no longer what they used to be. I had an old Dyson vacuum that's about 15ish years old (it was the first iteration of this model vacuum) and and still works great. The body was stuff, it was made of metal parts, and was make to take a beating all while working great. A few years ago, it started to lose its suction a bit so we got a new Dyson, expecting the same level of high quality associated with our experience, the brand, and the cost. Sadly, this new vacuum did not deliver. Right off the bat, it just felt cheap. Everything, and I mean everything, is plastic. The column leading up to the handle is pretty flimsy especially when the suction tube isn't attached and it overall doesn't feel as secure. I will admit that during it's operational time, it did work great. But, many design flaws such as the holster for the brush attachments aren't made to last and mine broke off very quickly. We later heard a vibrating sound and found that some of the screws holding the bottom brush assembly together were loosening. More recently, the vacuum stopped working all together. We tried to fix it, going into and disassembling every hose assembly to clean but the motor just does not work anymore. I'm sad to say that we will no longer be buying from the brand we trusted for over a decade unless newer vacuums have some serious changes to the build quality creating a product that will last.

Great vacuum has lasted longer than any other i have purchased. Looking into buying a new model now finally after about 10 years.

We purchased this vacuum based on Dyson reputation. When we got home my son and I proceeded to put it together. We could NOT get the handle/wand assembly to seat but after about 15 minutes of fooling around it seated. Good - no. We pulled the handle/wand out as you would have to do to use the wand. We couldn't get it back in. At this point I told my son to take it back, it was defective. He did so, and returned it for the same model but insisted on putting it together in the store. The same result, he and the BB employee could not get it together. The clerk did some research and said there are apparently other reports of this problem. This appears to be a serious design flaw. The second vacuum was returned and my son purchased a Shark which went right together and seems to work quite well.

Pretty good vacuum, however for the price of this Dyson, it shouldn’t squeak when you are using it. The noise is rather annoying.
