Not impressed at all. Big and awkward. Got this for the 2 battery packs AND NEITHER ONE CHARGES!!!! I will have to contact dyson. That is time I do not have to waste. Not worth the price. I would return but no longer have the box!

Very disappointed about this product. Used it for couple months and the batteries getting worse, not able to use product as promised. I am not recommending to buy the product. Not worth the money

I received empty box and no vacuum cleaner in it. In-fact its not even box.. its just crushed and flipped piece of box with label on it.

Finally - A Cordless Vacuum Done Right I've been a fan of how Dyson has disrupted the vacuum and home product business ever since my first Dyson (the iconic yellow upright). I purchased that vacuum 15 years ago. My daughter still has it and it looks and works like new. I've tried other cordless vacuums over the past several years but they fall short in terms of suction power and battery longevity. With the Dyson Outsize Total Clean Cordless Vacuum, we finally have a full-sized vacuum cleaner with serious suction power and long battery life. We have been using this vacuum for several days now while doing spring cleaning. It features two batteries which is fantastic if you are working on a full-house cleaning. We were surprised how long a single battery worked as we plowed through carpet, wood floor and accessories and the battery didn't miss a beat. The LED display for battery life is super-convenient as it let's you manage how much power you need vs how much battery charge is left. Battery life varies depending on how you are using it. Dyson claims a 20 minute battery life for carpet with normal operation and 40 minutes for wood floors. I would agree with those claims as this is what we've seen so far. With the "Eco mode" you can get up to 60 minutes use out of a single charge. The main floor accessory works great on carpet and wood floor. It is by far the widest size we've seen in a cordless vacuum and rivals the width of traditional vacuums. It also sucks up more debris so it's good that Dyson has made the debris canister larger. Like all Dyson vacuums, the debris removal process is simple and fast. This vacuum comes with a lot of accessories so there probably isn't a job that one of the accessories can't handle. We were concerned about the size of the main body of the unit being too big and heavy to use in smaller spaces....but the extension pole allows you to reach into those spaces. The weight of the main unit is certainly heavier than a lighter cordless model, but the tradeoff of more power and battery life is worth it. The unit seems to be well-balanced for its size. We have a cat with long hair so hair removal from furniture is always a challenge. One of the accessories is a "hair screw" tool which features a tornado-shaped cylinder with brushes. WIthout a doubt, this tool is the most effective accessory we've ever used for getting cat hair off of our furniture. Other accessories include a low rise adapter to get under tight spaces, a heavy dirt accessory as well as the usual set of brush and tube accessories. The unit comes with a wall mount which doubles as a charging station. My only gripe with the unit is the lack of storage for all of the accessories. We have to get a bin to store all of them in one place. Dyson continues to set the bar on innovation. This cordless vacuum is clearly going to be the gold standard for years to come.

So far it works great and we’re very happy with it. We’ve had a few Dyson cordless vacuums and have been happy with all of them. This one has 2 batteries and has a much larger canister so it’s a little heavier. But it is manageable. Very happy.

Our dog Buddy is a 13-year-old 70-pound white lab. Buddy sheds enough hair daily to duplicate himself three times over, but we don’t love him any less for this. Our house is mostly carpet, thus running the vacuum is something we tend to do daily. Dyson vacuums have been a staple of my family for years now. Our current upstairs vacuum is the Dyson Ball Allergy and for smaller cleaning downstairs we have the Dyson v7 motorhead origin. Our hope with the Outsize Total Clean was to replace both of our current Dyson with the Outsize Total Clean Cordless but after a week with the Outsize we were disappointed to find Dyson is just not there yet. This product needs one or two more revisions before we would feel comfortable replacing our current devices. There are a number of great things to love about the Outsize Total Clean. We love the Best Buy Exclusive Light Pipe crevice tool which basically turns your Dyson into a lightsaber that cleans the house. Combined with the sound the vacuum makes when you stop holding down the trigger the cleaning experience is pretty sweet. The full-size cleaner head is another huge bonus compared with the v7 Origin. The real bonus of the full-size cleaner is that when we do switch from cleaning carpet to cleaning tile or hardwood, we no longer have to press a button to change floor types like we do with the ball allergy, and we don’t have to change cleaning heads like we have to do with the v7. Instead, the CompleteCare figures out that we’ve changed floor types and adjusts the cleaning power being used automagically. Dyson calls this Dynamic Load Sensor or DLS technology and in a room full of plush carpet and rugs of varying thickness not having to think about this aspect makes cleaning easier. Our favorite improvement though is the way the Total Clean ejects its dust bin which means we no longer have to use our fingers to claw out all the stubborn debris that gets stuck in the v7 bin. There are 5 cleaning heads that come with this unit, 2 batteries, 2 charging cables, and in our unit the 2 Best Buy Exclusives (the light pipe crevice tool (aka the lightsaber) and the low-reach adapter. At first glance the low-reach adapter seemed like something we wouldn’t ever use, but it is pretty much a must-have because the design of the Outsize Total Clean makes it no longer possible to get as close to the ground as before, making it more difficult to get all the way under entertainment stands and high furniture, something we did without requiring an adapter with the V7. The rest of the cleaning heads do exactly what they are supposed to do. A bonus is that if you have previous Dyson handhelds most of the existing cleaning heads we have still fit and work properly with the Total Clean. Sadly you can’t go backwards in that I tried using the full-size cleaner head with the V7 but it will not function. Where things start to break down with this product is when you use it to clean your entire house. It’s simply too heavy for extended use. After only five minutes of using the Complete Care our index fingers were throbbing, something that has never happened with the V7 and a non-issue for the ball allergy. The more we experimented with different ways to hold the trigger and the unit, the more frustrated we became that Dyson did not include a locking mechanism that would have allowed us to release our finger from pulling the trigger yet keep the unit running. Power tools have had these methods available for a long time and I hope whatever Dyson does next in this space will incorporate this very needed change. When we went back to the V7 and the Ball what we realized is that the comfort of holding and maneuvering them is based on where the weight’s center of gravity is balanced. With the Dyson ball, the weight of the vacuum is centered in the ball, which is on the floor. Your arm spends most of its energy pushing the ball around the house and then retracting it and you don’t experience fatigue. You experience frustration because the thing doesn’t fit in all the tiny corners or nooks or under furniture but you don’t experience fatigue. The v7 sacrifices size for portability as the weight is centered in your hand. The v7 doesn’t feel heavy or hurt your fingers to keep the button pressed and solves the tiny corners and nooks problem, but creates a new set of problems in that the battery dies quickly and the dust bin is tiny. The Outsize Total Clean seems to ignore both of these previous design principals and just went with the notion that heavier is better because it’s full size. I’ll be the first to admit my girlfriend does more vacuuming than me so I passed the Outsize Total Clean to her and she experienced the same throbbing finger problem. We were hopeful that by day 3 of Buddy-hair-cleaning our fingers would have toughened up but after 7 days of daily use I can report no real change. The trigger simply hurts and my index finger is none the better for it. The idea of an LCD screen to show me data sounded great in theory, but if you keep the device on balanced performance it serves little practical value. The LCD is supposed to offer guidance on fixing machine blockage. In the basement on day 3 I managed to accidentally suck up a two-foot string of still attached carpet, gumming up the cleaning head to the point that the unit refused to continue until I manually unwound the string. The LCD did not offer any sage advice in this case. Perhaps blockage means something different than a string wrapped around the cleaning head. Another benefit of the LCD is for filter maintenance reminders but we haven’t had the unit long enough to see what that looks likes. The LCD did remind me that the battery was about to die. Battery life is an improvement over the V7, a huge improvement in fact. The initial battery charging session is 4.5 hours and it is critical you get this first charge correct to ensure optimal performance moving forward. We were disappointed to see Dyson changed the size of the battery charging connection making it smaller than before, which means it’s also now impossible to use our current Dyson charging cables with the Outsize Total Clean. We’re hopeful there’s a future where Dyson can reduce the weight of this unit or redesign it so that it’s not so painful to hold for our normal cleaning sessions. A locking mechanism on the trigger would be a great place to start.

I love it. Cleans as well as my other corded vacuum and no cord!!! Battery last all week with me using it several times in a rather large house..

Finally took the plunge to spend this much and I could not be happier with my purchase. I love the ease of use of my cordless, Glides over both the carpet and hard floors easily. Love the lighted crevice tool for getting up in the ceilings and that it can go to cleaning your car easily. Dyson has done it with the perfect product.

Outsize is a beast. Well worth the investment. I recommend buying the 5 year protection if you’re spending this much though.

The vacuum itself seems awesome but the head quit working the second week. They will replace but are out of stock. So we are currently without a functioning vacuum which is disappointing.
