I would have give it 5 stars if it wasn’t so difficult to empty. I have to remove the attachment and then empty the container, which is awkward when I am using the long arm attachment.

I love it but I get annoyed that sometimes it is hard to get the head to detach. For some reason when pushing the red button to release it doesn't like to work.

Power issues

As other reviews mention, it does get annoying to have to hold down the trigger during the entire vacuuming session. It is nothing stellar. If I could go back, I wouldn't have purchased this product.

We would not expect you to need to remove and install the battery each time you use your vacuum. With regard to the trigger, we know that battery run time is a very important aspect of performance for our owners, so we developed a trigger that helps maximize the amount of time you can clean on one charge. We chose a light-touch trigger over an on/off switch to ensure that battery life is never wasted by letting the machine run when it's not in active use.

Love it but the auto function needs work
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a huge fan of Dyson and I have had it the V-6 animal, for about four years. I was really excited to get the newest model, because I love Dyson technology and knew that they would not disappoint. This is like my old V6 on steroids. It was easy to unpack and I really appreciate that the holes on the charging base are the same as my old one so I did not have to drill new holes. Once charged, I tried it out on some kitty litter and it did an amazing job and didn’t miss any. It got into spots that my old one couldn’t like corners and edges and where my hardwood meets tile. It is really impressive and much quieter as well. The only downside I have for this vacuum is that the auto setting makes it too hard to move on my bedroom carpet. It’s somewhat new carpet and the old one never had an issue but this one seems to get stuck and makes it nearly impossible to clean. The suction is too powerful for this carpet and it’s a real workout trying to move it around. I have to switch to the ECO setting to use it in my bedroom. The auto setting works perfectly fine in my other bedroom that has older, cheaper carpeting. It comes with the perfect array of tools and I love that it has a snap-on add-on to hold a couple of tools on the base. I have been using it for about a week now and have had zero issues with the battery or with it picking up anything I’ve tried it on. The suction is amazing, the power is amazing and it is so quiet! This is amazing new technology and Dyson it makes it a pleasure to clean. If you own an older Dyson vacuum, do yourself a favor and upgrade. If you’ve never had a Dyson, what are you waiting for? It is well worth the investment.
