I can confirm that Dyson vacuums have never included a light on the machine itself, as we find most of our owners do clean during the day - or are able to utilize lights at home to clean properly around their home. We also wouldn't expect to hear that you've found the vacuum difficult to push on your carpeting. The V11 Animal features the torque drive cleaner head which includes a suction control level built right in to the head. On top of the ability to control suction that way, you also have the option to switch between suction modes with any of the cord-free machines. Those features make the cord-free machines ideal for homes with thicker or high pile carpeting.
While we don't ever expect issues to occur, Dyson does back your new machine from an authorized retailer with a free 2-year guarantee. The V11 Animal features our torque-drive cleaner head with an integrated digital motor which spins the brush bar 60 times a second. It drives stiff nylon bristles deep into carpet to remove dirt, and carbon fiber filaments capture fine dust on hard floors. The LED display allows you to easily switch between your 3 power modes: Eco, Auto and Boost. To start I have 3 dogs and two cats. I vacuum every day. My dogs do not shed much but I still like to keep a clean space. This is my first, and likely last, Dyson. This is definitely very convenient. The time I save plugging, unplugging, moving the power cord, etc... is nice. Performance was great out of the box, I wondered if i even vacuumed all those days with my old one. The light weight makes it easy for even my young kids to help out (not that they will) After a few weeks of use it’s already lost suction, struggles to pickup anything off my bare floors and forget anything carpeted. The attachments are garbage, I struggle to clean my couches if I’m not on “boost”, which kills the battery in less than 20 minutes. The rest of the attachments are fairly useless. Detaching the handle from the wand becomes extremely difficult for some reason, we have needed two people to pull it apart at times (no exaggeration). If you can’t pull that apart, you can’t empty it, so good luck using it... Overall bad purchase when there other brands which performed much better. I still use my old Shark from 12 years ago, which I bought this to replace, bc it far outperforms this mess. This will be returned to either BB or the manufacturer for a replacement/refund. This performance is not sustainable.

Our cord-free machines are designed to be light, easy to maneuver and handy for grab-and-go pickups or even whole-home cleaning jobs. We're sorry that you began to notice a loss of suction after a few weeks of use. In our cord-free models, this will be due to an obstruction in the machine, or dirty filters that are blocking the free flow of air. We find problems like this can be easily resolved with simple, yet effective troubleshooting.

I did research and found out this is a common fault with this vacuum. I loved it otherwise. I did purchase a new trigger on Amazon for 13.00. however, to take this apart and replace it is not an easy task.
