This vacuum works well but it was pretty clear from unboxing it that this was a refurbished vacuum. There was dust inside and outside of the parts and looked like it had already seen light use

I was disappointed when I only found two sheets of paper in the box, no instructions, and no way to register the Dyson. The papers were in tiny print, in Spanish, which I don’t understand, and seemed to be about the construction, not the use, or how to put the pieces together. and the only “numerical letter ” was definitely not the registration number. Feels like this was reboxed and the original owner’s manual was gone. I called Dyson’s Customer Service number several times, but it is no longer in service. It just rings and rings. Vacuum seems to be working, but if something goes wrong, I have no recourse. Doyou have any advice?

Great vacuum. Caught it on sale for 150 off. Canister is a bit small so 4 star's rather than 5.

Bets vacuum ever! I wish I was able to afford this vacuum along time ago, but having a cat this vacuum is on the goal and takes care of all the dirt

Works great! A little loud and I don’t like that you have to hold the button down the whole time you’re using it.

I bought the Dyson 7 a month ago, and it was my first "expensive" vacuum purchase. I have a French Bulldog who sheds a little, and a two-story apartment, so I decided it was time. It came, was easy to put together, and it worked amazingly the FIRST time. Then ... When I went to pull up the red lever to open the bottom of the canister/bin, nothing happened. Literally, nothing. It didn't open or move, so I ended up taking the top part entirely off to empty it. Unfortunately while doing this, a small red plastic piece that is attached to the canister/bin unhooked itself and came off. I didn't know where it originally went, but it didn't have any broken pieces or shredded looking aspects to it, so I knew it could click in somewhere. I called customer service, and they answered immediately and used video chat to see what I was dealing with. I took the entire thing apart using a tiny screwdriver that I luckily had on hand. (I'm a single 40 year old woman, so it was by chance that I had this toolkit.) After taking it all apart, customer service decided that they would send me a new canister/bin, as well as the top part with the filter. It has been three weeks, and I still haven't received it. However, Youtube is quite amazing. I was able to watch enough videos to see where the plastic piece fit, click it in, and the bottom lid came off, so I could easily dispense the contents out. This was great! I felt like I was a little genius repairwoman. Then... I charge it overnight, but when I get it out to use it, the suction is on/off, on/off. Not longer than two seconds of suction, so I'm back with customer service. They make me take it apart again, and it appears that the filter may be the issue, so now I have cleaned the filter and have to wait 24 hours to try it all over again. This has been an extremely irritating process, and if I didn't have the wherewithal, time, and drive to do all of this, it would be in the trash. I will repost if cleaning the filter works, but ... either way, don't waste your time and money. I am sure that I could've gone to Home Depot and found a fine vacuum that didn't require me to watch Youtube videos, use tiny/bizarre screwdrivers, and have replacement parts shipped out within the first month.

This vacuum works great. The build quality is great and I am able to maneuver it around and under objects I couldn't with a larger vacuum. The problem is, like many others have stated, the battery life. For a good clean, it needs to be on the highest suction setting and the battery only lasts 5-10 minutes. On top of that, it does not have interchangable batteries and charges very slowly. My advice: spend less on another similar vacuum and use the savings to buy 1 or 2 extra batteries.
