This works. I found the instructions straightforrward, and once it was installed within a seconid of going into reverse, you get a nice image with backup lines and such. I also found the wire tap system clever and easy, but having a crimper tool will make things go much easier than trying to use plyers to close the crimps. The only two negatives I'd metntion is that the box clearly says "no drilling required." That is a bit misleading.. For most trunks, you will have to drill if you want an professional lookking install, Personally I just ran the wire under the license plate and under the lip of the trunk and back up and that worked fine, but i don't mind an inch of wire showing, since my car is black an dthe wire is black The other negative is the the enclosed mount really only works on glass. One could get a mounting cup, but it won't stay on a dashboard. This does not bother me much either, since I actually just leave the monitor in front of the shift in a the cubby of my car. When it's not generating a picture, it shows time and date. Occassionaly, one might see some interference snow, but it does not obscure the picture for me. One other negative has to do with writing these reviews. It forces you to look up your membership id instead of just auto populating it if you are signed in. That is irritating.

This wireless system has way to much static salt/pepper on the screen. Don't know if there is a fix, but I am working on it.

The camera quality is horrible! You put it in reverse and it gets staticky and shut off!

This thing will turn on even when I'm driving. And when it does work in reverse it is full of static

Not easy to install. Glad I took it to store. Has alot of snow on screen.

Don’t bother if you’re using a enclosed trailer. I can’t answer for a regular open trailer.

The Blue Tooth apparently is not strong enough to use on a pickup. The signal was spratic at best. Mostly non functional.

I bought this wireless backup camera and monitor kit because I needed a backup camera, but wasn't wanting to fool with having to run wires through my car to power the 4.3 inch monitor. The back up camera worked great but the monitor itself had it's fair share of problems. I had to return the kit due to the monitor receiving interference from other vehicles and randomly glitching. I upgraded to the EchoMaster rear view mirror back up camera kit and ended up having to run wires through my car and wiring everything up. I'm so glad I went this route cause after I hid the wiring in the molding and head liner, the install looked professional like it actually came from the car manufacturer that way. I would recommend people spend the extra money and get the rear view mirror kit cause you won't be disappointed.

If you don't do this for a living, then you may find yourself in trouble. First, you need to be very ingenious to avoid drilling your car. I spent over an hour just trying to pass the camera cable through one of the license plate's holes. yes, I had to drill! Then the wiring.... not as simple as they make it look. I was not aware that for most cars, especially European, you need to add a relay (which is not supplied) and make additional connections as the voltage from the reverse wire is not enough (variable). A connection to the + your battery is required. The website and box say.. "Simple install involves only two wires." Their own video SAYS "all the installation accessories you need for the installation are included in the box". That is bull!!! Only after purchasing this thing and opening the box you will find this warning info: " Some vehicles’ reverse lamp wires are now variable voltage wires, and may cause a fuzzy or distorted image. If you experience this, please use a relay to power your camera". Yes, you have the option to return it to the store but will not know if it will work until you do their recommended "easy" installation. By then you either have to spend another $20 in supplies or disassemble everything you already have done and cut your loses (time wasted). Then the camera cable and supplied brackets are subpar. The image quality of the monitor is ok, hence the 2 stars. Would I purchase another one or recommend it? NO!

Installed in my daughter's car this morning, she loved it...easy install if you have some electronics installation experience. BUT, tonight she came home, said it glitched a few times. She was at a red light, and the screen flashed on and off a couple of times showing recording of her previously driving?? Like 3 second clips at a time? How is that possible? Car not in reverse, and it has a recording/playback glitch?? Hopefully it won't happen again. If so, I'll have to contact the company to ask about it.

Picture is a bit hazy and isn’t as good when it’s raining and at night. The item went on sale a week after it was delivered to me.

Purchased in Nov. 2020 right before Covid hit big time. Worked fine for first 11 months of 2021 and then began to be intermittent. Would not come on when car started, and then would come and run fine. Of course, this was after the one year warranty ran out. Ran fine thru spring of 2022. Once heat of summer came on, it became worse and then eventually quit working. I just left it in place as I didn't have time to rip it out, given its cost I was not a happy camper. Then one day while driving it suddenly came on, ran for the day and then never came back on after that. Pulled it off and threw in the glove box. Don't buy this piece of junk. Not worth $250 for one year. Will look elsewhere.

Purchased around August, install was easy and worked well at first. First time on a dirt road one of the two tiny screws that hold the camera onto the bracket stripped out. Easy fix with some bigger screws and some super glue. Then winter hit and had a few snow storms; camera stopped sending signal to the display. Re-checked wiring and everything was good; pretty competent with electronics so took the camera apart to see how the circuit board looked. Discovered housing does not have any form of weather proofing. Circuit board is charred and corroded on the inside.
