Very difficut for amateur to power
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We could not get it to work without alot of customer engineering. We found the wireless camera power supply is not compatible with the power supply to the rear backup lights in a number of late model cars such as ours in which the voltage and amperage is modulated so as to be able to trigger a warning light on your dash in the event a light back there does not work. In older cars without this feature, installation should be simple, run wire from the camera to ground and another to the power supply that turns on the backup lights. According to maker's technical support, what you have to do in a car like ours is install a relay, not supplied, (and relay model or type not specified, Just "go to the autoparts store and see what they have"). There is a short paragraph in the manual that describes a typical relay but if you don't know anything about relays it won't make sense. Basically the relay you buy separately (and hope you get a compatible one) will connect to the wire to the backup lights, and the power supply wire will connect from the camera to the relay, BUT, you will then have to run a new power supply wire from the car's fuse block in the front of the car to the back. So much for a wireless installation being simple, and if you don't know how to take the interior of your car apart or have poor access to the fuse block, this is very difficult to do. We have called Best Buy a few times to see if they can install, but no one there can tell us if they can. I am thinking about installing a rechargeable 12 volt battery in the trunk with a solar charger to get this to work. If I had a 68 Chevy this would work great.

A complete waste of money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the camera for an '05 Prius. Two trips to my experienced mechanic, who installed it wireless, then wired it when it didn't work.Even after that, all I ever got was static-y view that came on for a second, then disappeared, or else never came on at all. . I spoke to Geek Squad about it and they said we always warn people before installing this camera that it may not work because wireless cameras often don't. Oh, thanks for telling me; wasn't mentioned when I bought it in the store. Am I happy? no. A piece of trash in my trunk.

USB Connection Broke Within 1 Year
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.USB connection on board broke off within 1 year. Contacted tech support at 1 year + 10 days after purchase and explained that I had not contacted them earlier due to a death of a parent. "Sorry! Hands are tied." ... can't buy a replacement monitor ... paired with the camera ... total new purchase is the only option ... other choice is trying epoxy glue or attempting a solder repair myself ... this connection should not have failed. ... VERY DISAPPOINTED in product durability and their policy. The rep was polite, however, when telling me that I lose!

Only able to install if a sedan; no SUV or hatch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Box says no holes needed... instructions say drill hole; For power to the camera (which is mounted to the license plate) they want you to connect to the back up light's wiring. This connection is not accessible if the license plate is on a hatchback (mini-van or SUV) and the tail lights/back up lights are on the fixed part of the car.

Not for a 14' dump truck
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.easy to install but the picture quality is terrible in most mounting positions. I spent 2 hours trying all different locations. The steel body must be too much interference for the wireless signal. Ford F550 small dump truck

Not happy with it yet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easily installed. The screen flashes on and off and it flashes a lot of static. Very irritating to look at and of no help when launching my boat. Very sorry I purchased it.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If the license plate is in a hatchback and the reverse lights are not, this is a pain to install. But that's not the issue, the quality of the image of this product is so bad that I pledge NEVER buying at Best Buy again. Wasted money.

Terrible buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pile of garbage. Screen and camera turn off and on while driving. Imagine is not clear. Grid lines come off and on. Image is distorted when you put car in reverse and takes a few seconds to clear up enough to try and use it. Buy something better, this is not work it.

Wireless Camera
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Put it on my RV and the picture was so grainy it was useless, maybe a shorter wireless range like an SUV may work better. The RV was 33 feet.
