While it is very easy to use and works okay with Alexa (its very temperamental with hiw you say the command) i dont think the thermostat is very smart. In my opinion i wouldnt buy it again. Its a lot of money for basically a pretty thermostat that works with Alexa. I could have paid a lot less. Also very important it needs a C wire. It doea come with a adapter if you dont have one like me. The instructions to install the adapter are auper easy as long as you can easily access your furnace.

Pepco has a rebate on this thermostat so I decided to give it a try I was skeptical about being able to hook it up by myself but it was super simple! Extra bonus was the compatibility to the Home app and the on screen weather display.

After some bumps with installing, (nothing to do with the thermostat itself, just remember to turn off all A/C and heat components before installing) the HomeKit setup was a breeze. I love the product and would recommend to anyone looking for a HomeKit connected thermostat!

I love my Ecobee thermostat. It is one of the smartest purchases I have ever made. I love being able to control the temperature in my home from my IPhone. Every household should own one of these. I only wish I had purchased it sooner!!

The ecobee is a great thermostat and worked well for me since my home doesn’t have the C wire, the adapter allowed me to keep my furnace running correctly while saving money all at the same time!

This was easy to install. Took all of 15 minutes start to finish. It was the same price as the Nest E, but can be upgraded with remote sensors later if you want. Fully integrated with Alexa and my Android phone.

Works great as long as you have a steady wifi connection. Had some issues with wiring, found out the hard way I did not have a common wire. Had that installed. Now Ecobee works great, especially in the summer to save on cooling costs with programming and remote functioning.

Current model comes with everything except the 18/5 wire that I highly recommend you purchase before starting the install. Run the freshly purchased wires from the furnace to the desired location that the unit and install the smart thermostat with the pictured items below. I used the blue wire as my C and did not use the workaround included part. This unit also works with Alexa and or the free app from the manufacturer.

Bought this smart thermostat for my new home after reading it was the best for the Apple HomeKit, that being said I had a home inspection and my HVAC unit worked. I switched from an old unit to a smart thermostat and everything worked fine inside the EcoBee app the AC would come on and I could set schedules no problem. My first issue is that I could rarely get it to connect with my Apple HomeKit and be able to control it from my apple devices but inside the Ecobee app 100% no issues which is fine but I primarily bought this product to not have to enter the app. Now the main issue is that I have an older HVAC unit with no “C” wire so I had to use the provided PEK harness so the thermostat would work which in the summer was fine but now in the winter my furnace would circulate air but not heat up. Turns out my gas control valve is also wired to my “C” location and between the gas control valve and the thermostats PEK harness it could not provide enough power to start up the furnace and heat my home. Now my 3 solutions are either to revert back to a standard “non-smart” thermostat which is the cheapest option, run a dedicated low voltage wire just to power the EcoBee thermostat if I would like to keep the Ecobee, or lastly buy a new smart thermostat that doesn’t require the “C” wire at all which from my research is only 1 and it is not HomeKit applicable (which at this point is the same as the EcoBee).

I bought 2 of these and while it has only been 2 days, I hate them. I am trying to decide now if I give them any longer or just return them now. Both nights with these, I have woken up to the heat running when it shouldn't be. The temperature is set at 60 but it is 67 degrees in the house with the heat running. That doesn't seem very efficient to me lol. Apparently this is the thermostat learning how to long it takes to heat the house and it prepping for the schedule shift when we wake up and the heat setting changes. But I didn't program them to have the house be at a certain temperature at 5 am, I programmed them to start warming up the house at 5 am. I believe this is all due to the "smart recovery" setting but I have reached out to Ecobee customer support. Hopefully they will respond before I return these things. The picture attached is a feature that I really love but it shows what I don't like too. It's great to be able to monitor information like this and I am believe there will be lots of good data if you had these for a while. But as you can see, the heat is pumping at 4 am while I am hopefully still sleeping. I did change the wake schedule from 5 am to 6 am around 4:50 this morning in hopes that it would delay the heating. Being able to do that from my phone without getting up is one of the convenience reasons why I wanted a smart thermostat but I didn't want a thermostat that keeps my house too warm while I'm sleeping.
