A: Hello - They will be two units, but controlled in the same app interface, you could just use 1st floor and 2nd floor or whatever you wanted to call them. The sensors are tied to a unit so if you had a sensor on the 1st floor you would tie it to that unit.
A: 4 has a full blown Alexa module built into the unit. That’s the only thing I can see as a differentiatior between the two
Q: Does the ecobee3 lite thermostat come with a Power Extender Kit (PEK) included in the box?
A: Yes, it does.
Q: Can this be locked with a password to prevent all non-bill paying tinkerers from adjusting the temp?
A: Absolutely! To enable Access Control on your ecobee smart thermostat, select Main Menu > Settings > Access Control > Enable Security Code > Enter a New Code > Save.
A: Yes it does support room sensors, as long as you have installed the latest firmware on the thermostat. The thermostat will automatically update itself to the latest firmware when you connect it to the internet.
A: This comes with a kit for supplying power if you don’t have a C wire. But what I’ve noticed is that most furnaces have the spot for a wire, it’s just tied off. Check your furnace, it’ll probably save you some hassle
A: Yes. The fan can be turned on manually, then switched back to auto to run only when heating or cooling. It’s nice to circulate the air when you want. You can also set it to run for a specified amount of time each hour, but for your purpose that function would not help you.
