I needed a new thermostat and I'm glad I went with ecobee. The ecobee3 lite works with Siri so I can just tell her to adjust the temperature instead of pulling out the ecobee app each time. It also works with Alexa so from my Fire TV Stick I can also adjust the temperature and so forth. I like that I can also set up a passcode so not everyone can adjust the settings Willy Nilly. Oddly enough when I have friends visit they compliment my thermostat which is really odd but I get it because my last one just looked so old. It makes a nice wall piece too, so I like it. Controlling the thermostat is a breeze and the user interface is nice. Setup was also a breeze and customer support is the bomb. My old thermostat had cables labeled as something else that the ecobee didn't recognize. I called in and found out that the wires just have different names/letters these days. I almost thought my AC system wasn't compatible. I'm really happy with this purchase and strongly recommend it. I have to recommend you check with your electricity provider because they may have a rebate for upgrading your thermostat as was my case.

I am so impressed with this smart thermostat. I have a 10 year old house with a relatively modern forced air gas furnace / split AC system. The thermostat came with everything needed to install and the best install guide ever. This perfectly written and tapped install booklet made easy work of what was a simple install! Ones wired and powered on the thermostat practically walks itself through setup. I have great schedules already programmed and the app for iOS is great.

I needed 3 thermostats for my older boiler system. After trying one ecobee3 and liking it, I decided to use this in a zone where I didn't need the remote sensor. It was easy to install and it works the same as its more expensive sibling only without the sensor. The schedule is easy to setup and works well for us. It keeps comfy temp which the Nest didn't do for me. I returned it after many support calls and attempts to fix. I do wish this learned the schedule like Nest did. Overall I'm very happy with this as well as the other two ecobee3 thermostats I bought for the other 2 zones in my home. I got $100 rebates on all 3 from Vectren.

I'm slowly building out my smart home (man-cave and office) within budget. So, picking the right device with the features needed at the right time is quite important to me. Looking long and hard at all the reviews for that one product that would fulfill my current smart home heating and cooling needs, apart from the great nod from other demo houses, led me to select this product. It's was also way past all the sales and discount period so really checking out the pros and cons of all features plus future proofing were also in mind. While I'm sure competing products have excellent technical support, since this product does require a C-wire and comes bundled with its own power extender kit, it was great to receive electrical wiring feedback to my layout pictures which helped me get it all done. Did I forget to mention it was a multi-zone/story house and that HVAC wiring were different per zone/floor? They also provide API access for all you programmatic automation junkies. In terms of smart hub compatibility I can vouch for both SmartThings+Google Home+Amazon Echo/Dot integration. Excellent product!

I am happy that I purchased this. I personally installed this myself in 15 mins (yayyyy me-women rock). It has a simple UI. I can control it from anywhere via the app. The weather is a "touch" away. It works better than I excepted. Love that it can also be control by my echo dot!

I had a programmable thermostat by another manufacturer that I never used because my schedule is completely opposite every week and it was too time consuming to program. My goal was to get a thermostat that I could use the schedule feature to save money on heating and cooling, and that was easy to change whenever I needed to change it. The Ecobee3 lite fit the bill. The scheduling is super easy to change whenever needed, and doesn't take but only a few minutes every week for me to put the next week's schedule in via the very easy to use Android app. I really like the feature that allows me to have the fan run so much every hour even if heat or AC isn't needed. This helps keep my 3-story house's temperature more equalized. For instance, our kitchen is on the 2nd story (also where the thermostat is located). In the winter, if we are using the oven, our 2nd floor gets very warm, and the other two floors remain cold due to the heat not coming on. Having the fan come on for 5 minutes (or whatever you set it to) every hour helps equalize the temperature throughout the house. That is a great feature of this device. Compared to the Ecobee3 (2nd gen), this model does not have the remote sensor. That is the only difference, and it can save you up to $70 to not have that sensor. I think it's a little gimmicky anyway, and I was glad to save the $70. If you think you may want to use a sensor in the future, get the Ecobee3 (2nd gen). You can never add a sensor to the "lite" model.

Bought this since it worked with Apple HomeKit and seemed a bit more advanced than the Honeywell ones. Was originally looking at Nest, but Nest didnt work with HomeKit. Love the device and how it worked for the downstairs of the house so i bought another for the upstairs. Very easy to install and use. Love how when you go to auto mode you get to choose a range.

Easy to use and install. The title says it all. Took about 15min over all and i like that it shares outside weather. The nest doesn't.

While I neglected to photograph what wires were connected to what on my old thermostat, the seriously helpful folks at ecobee were able to figure out what needed to go where. Then, when I couldn't seem to get my wifi password to work, they once again came to my rescue. I've had it for a few weeks now, and I love being able to set the thermostat from home, on the road or just from my bed.

Easy to install, after install it didn't allow my aux heat lockout set. Called Ecobee tech support, got a person quickly and they stayed on the phone and walked me through changing the wires around. I have never had this great of customer service from any company, let alone for a $169 thermostat! Simple to use, very pleased with purchase. Best buy even honored my military discount I would get if I went to Home Depot.

The ecobee3 lite is just like the ecobee3 without the sensors. It does everything the Nest can do. It all comes down to how it looks on your wall and the interface. I like how the nest looks, but I don't like the Nests interface.

Works as advertised - nice white cover plate provided with the unit to make sure it covers up any area that was previously behind the thermostat controller your removing. Nice Schedule features and has worked seamlessly with my smartphone to monitor and control the temperature in my vacation home - 350 miles away..

Very cool looking thermostat. Love the local weather feature and the fact the screen changes when you walk up to it. A friend of mine had the Nest thermostat and gave it to his mom and got one of these. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

If you don't need remote sensors, this is a great value! I didn't have a Common wire, but instead of installing the Power Extender Kit, I just found the Common wire not connected at my HVAC control board. So I opened the circuit breaker, connected the blue common wire at the board, then stripped the tip of the common wire at my thermostat and my install was simple! Self-Install worked well, and integration with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit was simple. The 8 digit HomeKit number wasn't on the package, but it appears on the unit when needed! The weather didn't automatically work, but a quick call to Customer Service got it fixed!

Any wifi Thermostat will cost nearly the same but without all the features this one has, making it a great buy. Siri integration is great. I put this one in my basement and does a great job. Still too soon for any saving calculation. Just too bad HomeKit geofence is not really smart - I saw some people doing IFTTT but just had no time for that yet.

Ecobee uses the common wire to power the unit AND their touch screen interface is outstanding. Even though I had access to a common wire, even if you don't have one, the product includes a Power Extender Kit which does help. I had some issues at the time of install and I found the phone support top notch.

I love this thing. I dont need multiple sensors because i cant control airflow anyways. Im saving about 25 a month on my heating bill so its going to pay for itself shortly.
