Sensor in kitchen is priority throughout dinner hours. Average of all three is used at all other times. Love that specified temperature setting and time starts in advance so target is achieved AT APPOINTED TIME, not starting towards.

My main concern with the height installation was the fact that at 5 feet, everyone wants to touch the sensor. At this height the motion sensor is supposed to "detect someone" but as I mentioned , its in the path of curious kids and adults. I had to come up with a novel way of installing it at 7 feet high. I ended up screwing the back panel into the wall only partly so that the back plate could tilt down, then I put the plate.

Shortly after pairing I got an email from ecobee stating that some sensors were assembled incorrectly. A video on their web site showed how to easily fix the orientation of the motion sensor. Sensors have been working great.

Helps save money

Owned for 1 year when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We added one in each bedroom upstairs because they seem to heat or cool quicker. Without them the kids rooms would get too hot or cold by the time the remaining upstairs reaches desired set point. Now the unit doesn’t have to run as often since it’s only looking at the average of the two rooms.
