We have both, and while the fit and finish on the more expensive one is of course amazing, we needed a less expensive thermostat for this room and the Essential still does the job at half the price.

I can also get a credit from your electric company if I allow them to basically "control" the thermostat for saving purposes. Great purchase and easy set-up.

I realized after a while that it Doesn’t connect with Alexa without buying and additional hub. I’m really happy with this Exobee. Nice quality and easy setup and operation.
