Easy to set up. Much better than the earlier models. Batteries last longer too.

These are designed really nice, the fit, feel and function of them is very modern. You also have options of either just setting the sensor on the magnetic stand that comes with it or the wall mount that also comes with it. The wall mount is stick on but very minimal design which is what you want. They also work very well. I have 3 of them total in my home. I may had a few more as I am very happy with them.

Useful to get temperature on multiple floors but way overpriced. Also motion/occupancy sensor is too slow to trigger for use in any automations.

Good thought behind what the sensors could be used for. However, these end up increasing energy usage instead. Your Ecobee will see one of your rooms has heated up and will attempt to cool it down. However, unless you have smart vents setup your whole home will be cooled down in the process. Thus, more energy is spent trying to cool down that one room, while the other rooms may be comfy but get colder in the attempt. To overcome this, I set the thermostat a few degrees higher or lower so the average temperature isn't running my AC or heater all the time. I also disable sensors based on comfort settings. During the day the main thermostat and living room sensors are taken into account. When I'm sleeping, the bedroom sensor is only taken into account. The motion sensors are nice. Can tell which room is occupied when away. For $5 a month you can get Ecobee's security system that uses the sensors to detect motion while away from your home. Overall, if you don't have smart vents and are in an apartment you probably don't need these. Even in a house, you can probably forgo these, at least until Ecobee can better integrate their use. You can't use these sensors on HomeKit for other devices either (like motion detection turning on lights).

Good additional sensors for ecobee. They help keep the entire house warm.

If you have the ecobee smart thermostat, purchasing more of these smart sensors will only help you save even more on energy costs.

The first set that I ordered from Best Buy didn't work. I went through the ecobee troubleshooting steps and they still didn't work. I returned them to Best Buy and got another set to replace them. Brought them home, set them up, and they didn't work either. Wouldn't connect to the thermostat. This time I called the ecobee tech support on the phone. We went through troubleshooting and they still wouldn't connect. Ecobee thought that the issue might be the batteries (they said that Best Buy doesn't sell many of the sensors, so perhaps the batteries were expired). They suggested I purchase some directly through ecobee to test them out. I did that, and sure enough, the ones that came directly from ecobee connected without any trouble. They have been great for keeping the temperature in our bedroom more consistent, since it is far from the thermostat. I returned the ones that I purchased at Best Buy. I can't say for sure that it was the batteries, but that's my suspicion. And they're fairly thick little batteries, so not an insignificant cost. So my rating of the actual SmartSensors from ecobee is 5 stars, but I wouldn't purchase them from BestBuy. I was sad too, because I have the TotalTech membership and like the added warranty.

The sensors worked great. One of the batteries died and ecobee sent me a new one.

Had problem with maintaining temp in living room while ecobee 3 light unit was in a dining room that’s rarely used. This sensor synched only after removing battery for a while. Heard you need a specific firmware on the ecobee3-light unit for it to work too. My firmware was up to date. Wife is happy now. Sensor detects temp and if room is occupied.

Easy to set up easy to use, ecobee makes it great product

The Ecobee system is without a doubt far more advanced than what I need. However these sensors are great for monitoring each room individually. Which has allowed us to close the vents in certain rooms to force the air back to other rooms that desperately need it.

These are easy to use and help save money with the cooling/heating bill.
