While I was quite hopeful these little smart sensors would be a good fit for use as a type of motion detector, for intrusion detection, I think they are better off for what they seem to be originally geared towards which is as an accessory for the ecobee Smart Thermostat; when time isn't of the essence. After quite some time playing around with them, I find that the detection on this is very intermittent and inconsistent. I'm used to working with devices that would alert you to an intruder as many times as you cross their path. These devices do not do that. In this case, it seems that it only activates or "wakes up" every so often and this is likely due to the need to conserve power. The battery is rated to last for multiple years and since it is nothing more than a coin cell battery, it could not constantly be on and detecting movements and still last for this period of time. Thus why the detection of someone is intermittent. As for consistency, I've set it off sometimes, and sometimes not. My large (85lb) dog sets it off sometimes and not others. My 15lb dog sometimes has not set it off so far. I realize an intruder might be 85lbs, so it is necessary to go off for that, but it doesn't always happen this way. What does this mean for you? If an intruder happens to come into your home by breaking a window for example, you would have to hope that it was at the time the detector would notice and generate an alert. The environmental features of this sensor are only available if paired to the ecobee smart thermostat, so they cannot be used for temperature monitoring or temperature alerts if you don't have the ecobee thermostat. I would not recommend this for the purpose it is being marketed for, because if you count on this as an intruder detection device, it could be some time before it notices someone rummaging through your things, if it notices at all (such as if you left the area it is placed within).

I can’t imagine having an ecobee without these sensors. They let me control what rooms to focus on for comfort. At night, the thermostat is only concerned with my bedroom. During the day, whole house thanks to these little guys. Since they are HomeKit compatible, they can act as motion sensors for the rest of my smart devices.

Integrated perfectly with my Ecobee Smart Thermostat. A little confusing on how to make the best use of the sensors in relation to the thermostat settings, but it is nice to be able to specify which room drives the temperature the thermostat will maintain. I have the sensor in the family room be the driver during the day and the one in the bedroom be the determining factor at night. My only complaint is the extra sensors seem a little expensive to me for what you get.

I had one sensor just wanted to know the temp in other places in the house. Does a great job at that. Just make sure you place them appropriately. Out of direct sun, or direct airflow of HVAC as well as height placement. Too low on shelf will register cooler than it really is and same as too high *the heat of the room rises). I try to keep it as close to the thermostat height to be consistent. Only wish it would include humidity levels.

Great temperature sensors! And they have unexpected features like occupancy sensing. They work with Apple HomeKit to set up lights to come on automatically as well as having your AC/Heat ignore rooms that are empty and cool/heat to rooms that are automatically. Way more functionality than I thought I was getting!!

If you have a Ecobee Smart Thermostat and you don't have some of these, you're not getting the most out of your Thermo. Saves money by monitoring the rooms you're actually in vs. setting a full- house temperature.

Much needed addition to my Ecobee thermostat. I have a two story house built in the 70s so my second floor always runs warmer in the summer than my first floor. I put sensors in each of the bedrooms and have them control the AC temperature.

Seems to capture the temperature accurately. It has greatly improved our sleeping situation now. You don’t have to keep changing the temperature and adjusting the AC

Added to an ecobee lite. Adding it to the system was not as easy as the thermostat couldn't find them. Eventually after taking the battery out and resetting everything, made it work and it is working flawlessly now. Worth the dollars, great solution in order to add some intelligence to the HVAC system.

We have two bedrooms that wouldn't quite get warm enough at night, so putting these in those rooms just did the trick. Pairing with the thermostat was easy and the rooms are staying warm enough in the winter.

Was waking up uncomfortable so got these sensors to get a better use of the ecobee, and they qork great.

While these are high quality sensors, it seems you must have the ecobee thermostat to pair them with and I was unaware of this as I can the Home security bundle that does not come with the thermostat. Until I get the thermostat, these are somewhat useless for me, and the thermostat is quite an investment in price so I'll just have to wait. That would be the best I can offer in responding to this product — DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU ALREADY HAVE THE ECOBEE THERMOSTAT.

We have had a hard time controlling the temp in our new home and purchased these sensors. They have helped control the temp in the house and lowered our electric bill.

Love these smart sensors. Easy to see temperature in different rooms using Ecobee application while at home or at work. Also great to set follow me so Ecobee thermostat adjusst temperature to desired temperature in room you are in. I have used these to see which room my Beagle is while at work.

Great product. Works as described with no issues. A bit expensive.

I already had 3 and this makes it 5 total now, as they work great. Easy to setup and pretty much accurate with another item showing same temperature in one of the rooms. Also, the sensors showing someone is in the room works well too.

Adding these additional sensors for my Ecobee thermostat to help with some warmer rooms in the house. They work as intended and were easy to add via the iPhone app.

Very easy to set up right out of the box. Took less than 5 minutes! These are a good bit smaller than I thought they would be, as well. They seem to work very well. I only wish you could adjust the temperature in a specific room without having to create a new comfort setting.

These are a really great addition to our ecobee thermostat we installed earlier this year. It came with one sensor, with the additional 2 sensors I get a more accurate sense of what the temperature in my home is.

Love the versatility that the sensors offer. We have a living room with a crawlspace under it, unlike the balance of the main floor with a finished basement below. This has allowed for the house to even out with only a few degree differential. Great option to keep the house comfortable for all.
