In the past Ive had some experience with automatic vacuums, but it was limited to just carpet. Well our house has about half carpet, half hardwood floors. And this vacuum fits the bill for just that. Initial set up and charge was fairly easy. In the box you get everything you need to get all set up and cleaning. The guide will get you going with easy to read set up instructions. Once set up and plugged in to charge you use the Ecovac Home app to use some of the more advanced features. Once set up its ready to go. Before the first run if you have pets (mainly dogs) which is what we have its best they are out. Although it can be fun to watch their reaction to this little guy they might damage it. We have a full blooded Corgi that would just love to tear this thing up. Anyway the vacuum works great. It easily got the majority of dog hair and other debris up with no problem. And the mopping of our kitchen was done great as well. At first I wasnt sure how well it would work around our table and chairs. But it easily navigated around them and left the floor looking great. The vacuum has a large enough debris container for lots of cleanings, and returns to the station not only to charge, but to automatically empty the bin. It almost does everything on its own. The app is easy to use and very convenient with control over boundaries and cleaning times. You can even set virtual boundaries to keep it away from certain areas. Perfect for controlling while at work or on vacation. Im looking forward to experimenting with the app more to see what else it can do. Although the Ecovac does almost everything automatically if you want it to keep doing it it does require some maintenance. But following the guide with step by step instructions makes it fairly easy. They are pretty common sense basic cleaning and replacing pads, etc. Nothing too difficult. I remember when I was a kid seeing TV shows that had automatic maids/ robots and thinking this was all crazy and would never happen. Well this little guy is as close to that as you can get for now. We are able to cross one of our weekly chores off the house hold list. This little guy keeps our hardwood kitchen/ dining room floors clean, and our living room and halls vacuumed for weeks. In no time we will have our version of a robotic maid/ butler, etc.

I didn't like this product! it said it would map out and vacuum my whole house it did not! it would not go through door way!

Gets stuck pretty much every day. Chair legs, dust covering sensors, you name it. I have to pick up and put back on the charger.

The Evocas Robot after a month does not know where to Go

This thing is garbage. Has a mind of its own and clogs super easy. Returned it. Going to go with an I robot.

It started making a lot of noise and it is brand new and expensive

The DEEBOT N8+ is quite the jump from my old robot vacuum. It really is incredible to see how much this technology has leaped. My previous robot vacuum did not clean nearly as well, return to the station on his own, or map my home anywhere near this level. The cleaning ability of this vacuum is mind boggling. I’m really providing this review through the perspective of someone who had an archaic view on robot vacuums. I’m hoping if you were like me, someone who didn’t think they did that great of a job, you will reconsider. Part of this is due to the amazing fact that this vacuum ALSO mops the floor as it vacuums. Come on, that’s incredible! And it does it very well. Something else that’s great is that the mop pad is removable and cleans easily. The best function of this vacuum is how well it works with its station. Because the batter life is around an hour, the vacuum has to return to the station frequently. This might be a pain if the vacuum wasn’t able to do this all on its own. He knows exactly when to return to the station and resumes where he left off. He empties himself out into the station, then you just go empty it after a couple cleans. The mapping function on this robot vacuum is pretty great once the setup process is over. It takes a while to map the home since the vacuum does this on the first initial runs for which it needs to return to the station to charge. It took a bit of patience but once done it was awesome. You can use your phone to map out boundary lines after the house has been mapped. This lets you customize each clean if you want. The EVOVAC DEEBOT N8+ is quite the package for the price. Looking around other options I feel very comfortable recommending this model. You get all the basic things that make a modern robot vacuum great with plenty of extra features to make it a bargain at this price.

The Ecovacs N8+ cleans very well and dose the job with mopping. The app is not very user friendly. It took several attempts to get it set up. Changing the equipment for the mopping feature was a rather interesting task and slightly difficult. It had a Hard time sensing when it went from the floor to carpet. It also took a minute to find its base. Just vacuuming the house the product works. Love the auto dumping feature.

There are a multitude of robot vacuums on the market, and it can be hard to wade through the trash and reveal the hidden gems. While the DEEBOT OZMO N8+ may not be a diamond in the rough, it does do its job very well. It has the three fancy features of different specialized robot vacuums and those are it vacuums, mops, and auto dust extraction when done. HARDWARE: The robot itself is pretty standard. A couple of nice features is how easily accessible the different compartments are. You can remove the mop/add water easily without picking up the robot. This is important because you will be switching between mopping and vacuuming only mode quite frequently if you have a combination of carpet and hard floors. The dustbin is hidden under the top cover, again very easy to remove and clean if needed. Other features I like is the ability to completely shut off the robot if needed, and a reset button so you can easily set up the vacuum again. The auto empty station is not too bulky, the filter bags can be quite expensive but you can find 3rd party ones online. Overall, not a lot of complaints about the hardware. The only thing I would change is to extend the base the vacuum rests on out a little more, as the wet pad can soak up your hard wood floors underneath when it is done cleaning. SOFTWARE: The app that is used to control a robot vacuum speaks volumes, as it can be the most important aspect. the ECOVACS app is by far the best one I have used. The amount of customization and information it feeds back to you while it is cleaning is quite spectacular. You can see the floor layout of your home that the robot has traversed, and are able to customize different areas you do/don't want the robot to clean. It will even show you where it thinks carpet is located, and it gets it basically spot on. There are different customizations you can control on the robot itself like the suction power or water levels, and even how many times it cleans. The pathing system used is also top notch. Judging from the path it's logged, it rarely needs to repeat its steps, and follows very organized patterns that will clean the whole house. Overall, I am very happy with the software and have no complaints for it. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this vacuum for anyone looking. If you were looking around this price point, this robot basically delivers everything the top of the line models can as well.

I'm actually impressed at how well this vacuum cleans while being practically silent. The first time you start the unit, it maps the entire area. This is was extremely efficient and unlike other robot vacuums, plots an efficient path to minimize collisions. The mopping function leaves a bit to be desired however, for light cleaning of hard floors it works perfectly fine, but if you're like me you will still manually mop a couple of times a week. The only real negative I have is that you have to remove the mopping unit when cleaning carpeted areas. When I read the description "mops and vacuums simultaneously" I assumed you could program the cleaning function by room. This definitely is not the case. All in all, this is a decent robot vacuum for the price.

I really wanted to love this robot vacuum, but the battery life dashed any dream I had of keeping it. This review is going to be sort of a comparison between the N8+ and the other top of the line one...you know whose... They both have great suction power and the N8+ has a far superior mapping system. You just can't beat Lidar. Where they both fell short was battery life. I have three bedrooms, two baths and a small hallway upstairs. Granted it's carpeted so requires the stronger suction in the bedrooms and hall, but I could only get 45 minutes on the EcoVac and 38 on the other before they would have to return to the docking stations to recharge. The N8 takes three hours to recharge, the other about an hour. I also encountered an error message with the N8 repeatedly warning me that the cliff sensor was dirty and needed attention, even when it was clean. This started on the first run. It came precariously close to falling down the stairs on the first run, so there may have been a faulty sensor. I found no-go zones easy to set, however, so made sure I put one at the start of the stairs so it didn't get too close again. Dust sucker was hit or miss on both, as it is on all self-cleaning robot vacs. Sometimes they get all the dust out of the dust bin, and sometimes they don't. They are all loud when performing the dust collection, but I found the EcoVac runs longer than most - about 35 seconds as opposed to the average of 20 seconds. Overall, I was disappointed with both vacuums and returned them. I have used an off brand for my downstairs for the past six months that was nearly half the price and has excellent mapping and few issues. I expected more from high-end $600 vacuums.

This is a very well designed product. However, it will take some patience to set up the mapping initially. The instruction booklet leaves quite a bit to be desired, however the web site is informative. The robot itself is remarkably "smart" After mapping the cleaning works seamlessly.

Great working product. Maps well never got stuck and has excellent cleaning

Absolute waste of money and time. I've owned this for a year and it has never once emptied the dust bin properly. It tries, but the dust always bunches up in the robot and gets stuck. I have to empty it by hand every time. It forgets the map all the time. I've had to try recovering the map, creating new ones, just letting it rediscover the house each time, etc. What an absolute pain. When you create a new map, it of course forgets all the boundaries that you placed in the old map, so you have to follow it around as it discovers the house...again...and place new boundaries. One of my boundaries blocks it from going into a certain room where it will close the door and lock itself inside 90% of the time. Arg. It's constantly finding ways to fail. Today it has discovered that it can high-center itself on it's own auto-empty station. I've had to rescue it 5 times in the last 10 minutes. What a horrible product.

I’ve had this for just over a year, after moving to a different apartment, the connection stopped working. I’ve tried resetting and redownloading the app numerous times to no success. Its gotten to the point where the product is useless to me now

This is the most terrible robot vacuum you can buy. This robot runs everything over cords, clothes, blankets, and dog poop. The mapping gets all messed up and overlaps itself then wont clean a bunch of areas. It wont auto dump when the tray is full and the mopp feature is a joke. The one i have is one year old and i just tossed it out. I fixed it multiple times especially the lidar wheel. I have a orginal rumba and it works 1000 times better. Please dont buy if you do chose another brand.

excellent machine... we own one and love it. It's move technically advanced vacuum robot on the market! Highly recommend!

I love this machine. It does a good job on my ceramic floors in the living room and dining room. It also does a decent job on the carpet in the bedroom. The big plus for me is that it cleans all the dust under the bed. With a normal vacuum your in your hands and knees with the attachments. No more of that for me
