    Impressive mopping/vacuum robot

    The Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo U2 Robotic Vacuum is a unique robotic vacuum with its added mopping ability which is the feature that really caught my attention. Unlike every other robot vacuum I have seen, the Ecovacs Ozmo U2 can mop while it vacuums which is great for large areas with hard floors such as kitchens but can also only vacuum if that is what you prefer. It is controlled and initially setup via the downloadable Ecovacs Home app. It should be noted that setup can only be completed if the device you are using to setup the vacuum is connected to a 2.4GHz band of your home Wi-Fi network. If you use a dual or tri-band mesh network that combines all of your Wi-Fi bands into a single network like I do, you may run into problems during setup like I initially did because my phone was connecting to a 5GHz band. To properly setup the vacuum, I had to go into my router’s settings and separate the different bands into different Wi-Fi connections so I could manually connect to only the 2.4GHz band. Once I did this, setup was a breeze so it is important to note that they really aren’t joking when they say you MUST be connected to a 2.4GHz band in order to setup this product. As far as performance goes, the vacuum has good suction and the mopping function works better than expected. The only slight drawback I noticed is the robot does not actually map and store a map of the areas it cleans. This can cause the robot difficulties in finding its way back to the charging station depending on the layout of your home and the areas you want it to clean as well as how many obstacles are in the cleaning area such as dining room table and chairs. It also seemed to clean in a bit of a random pattern and missed some spots in the mopping mode, but I think it is mostly because of the layout of my home. The unit comes with a detachable baseplate for mopping and includes one reusable mopping pad and five disposable pads. If you only want to use the vacuum function, simply remove the mopping baseplate and the robot will automatically know not to initiate the water flow for mopping. Overall, I am very impressed with the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo U2 Robotic Vacuum and I highly recommend it!

    Do not purchase if you have AT&T service. Does not connect to their router. Also customer service and technical support is horrible. Tech representative wanted to send me screenshots or the steps that the app is already taking me through. How does that help?

    Get a Eufy , i had one before and was just going out of my way to try a new brand ... Seriously regretted it . This thing was wack. Didint clean wortha flip and the mop deal is a whole entire joke in it self.

    My package hasn’t been received yet! I’m getting frustrated because the other packages to this order had came 2 weeks after I ordered them. It’s been almost 3 months and 1 month at the location in California. It shouldn’t be taking this long!

    This is my first robotic vacuum, but I've had my eye on the category for awhile. I've been impressed with the variety of models now available, particularly from newer brands like Ecovacs. With an assortment of models at a range of price points I chose this newer, mid-grade model for its stated cleaning time and mop/vacuum combo ability. The unit came well-packaged with a number of accessories enabling both mopping and vacuuming. I was concerned setup might be a bit difficult, mainly because the robot only works on 2.4 Ghz wifi networks and I have a 2.4/5 Ghz combined router. I was pleasantly surprised, however, that setup was a breeze. Ecovacs included a complete instruction manual as well as quick start guides that made getting going a breeze. Downloading the Ecovacs Home app and connecting the vacuum to wifi was a snap -- something that anyone who's set up connected devices before can appreciate. The vac also has helpful voice prompts on the unit itself, which is both useful and entertaining. The unit seems well-constructed, lightweight but not hollow-feeling. The brushes all seem sturdy, as do the dust collection and water reservoirs. The reservoir and dustbin remove easily and fit into each other; you cannot install them until they are properly latched together, which seems smart. The dust bin, filters, mop pads and brushes all dissemble easily for cleaning, and a cleaning brush/hair wrap removal tool slots right into the dustbin lid which is a smart feature. After allowing the vacuum to fully charge I simply pressed the "go" button and it got to work . This robot is of the simpler navigation variety, meaning it takes off in a given direction and goes until it detects an obstacle. In watching a run I was impressed that it saw most obstacles before it got to them and only seemed to actually bump into things that were particularly narrow (like thin metal table legs) or just above its line of sight (furniture that was not quite tall enough for the vac to fit under). I have to admit watching this thing is a riot -- it goes about its business, changing direction at random, without so much as a complaint. Moving things out of the way does help the vac cover more ground efficiently, but in a few days of use I found the only thing that tripped it up permanently (requiring me to free it) were thin electrical cords, like lamp cords. Thicker extension cords and rugs didn't seem to bother the vac at all. While it mostly worked in a random pattern, I did notice it did find the walls of the room a few times and was able to keep itself on a straight path next to the wall for a while. It also seemed to find furniture legs more often than not and gently continue vacuuming around/under the furniture, which I didn't expect. While I used the "auto" setting, the app does include an "edge" cleaning mode and a "spot" cleaning mode for further cleaning flexibility. The app also allows you to control the strength of suction and amount of water released during mopping. The app is relatively simple, but worked flawlessly in my testing. It started the vacuum and ended cleaning with just a tap, and gives an overview of charge level, square feet cleaned, time cleaning and estimated life levels of the brushes. It would be nice if the vacuum included sensors for low water level and full dustbin, but it's pretty easy to see through the plastic if things need to be changed/refilled. The vacuum is pretty quiet in its standard setting, quiet enough that the cat was not scared, only slightly annoyed, by its presence. After running for just over two hours on the default "auto" setting -- a tad longer than the stated run time -- the vacuum told me it was low on battery and would return to its charging base. The base emits some kind of homing signal, but it requires the vacuum to be within a few feet to find it. The robot still wandered aimlessly around the house for a bit until it found the base, but it was able to dock itself and begin charging successfully. One of the main selling points of this model is its combined vacuuming/mopping abilities. You simply attach a mopping plate and either reusable or disposable mopping pads (both are included), add plain water to the reservoir and press the "go" button. The vac automatically switches to mopping mode, where it slowly releases water into the pad and attempts to move in a regular back-and-forth motion across the room (picture mowing the lawn, where each pass is next to the previous one). This motion is certainly the most efficient to mop the floors, but was relatively unsuccessful in practice. Given a wide open area with few interruptions I am confident the robot would clean well, but it struggled mightily in a living room with lots of furniture and an area rug. It did not seem to have any sense it was on the rug vs. on the hard floor, meaning the rug got "mopped" too. It was able to move in a regular back-and-forth pattern in the open areas, but encountering obstacles and awkward corners meant some parts of the floor got "mopped" quite a bit and others were missed completely. I gave up after awhile, removed the mopping pad and let it vacuum in its standard random pattern instead. Had I taken the time to move furniture, plants and the area rug I think it would have worked much better, but that sort of defeats the "set it and forget it" convenience of the vacuum. I'd have no qualms leaving the robot to vacuum unattended (you can set a schedule in the app), but I wouldn't trust it to mop without supervision, and only in an open hard flooring area free of rugs and other obstacles. I really wish there was an option to run the vacuum in the hard floor, back-and-forth motion without attaching the mop pad, as it would clean more efficiently, but I didn't find such an option in the app. Attaching a dry mop pad and not using water would also be a welcome feature, as the robot would then vacuum and dust the floors and I wouldn't worry so much about water getting where it shouldn't. Overall I'm very pleased with the vacuuming capabilities and wifi-connected features of this machine, but a little let down with the mopping abilities. With some navigation/app updates and a little more effort on my part I think the mopping would work better, but in my estimation it would be far more productive to let the robot do the vacuuming while a human follows up with a quick mop afterword. If your home is set up with wide swaths of obstacle-free hard flooring I think you might find the mopping ability useful, but if this isn't you I might suggest spending your money on a vacuum-only model.

    Terrible. Stopped working within two weeks. Just goes in circles and says to clean the anti-fall sensors. Forget about customer service. I can’t find the number anywhere. And now I can’t return it. Worthless.

    Don’t buy it. I bought the first one and I tried with a second one and both didn’t work. We could not connect it to our wifi. Please check reviews before but it, don’t waste your time.

    This bot does not get the job done it would not return back to charge base I purchased one from Walmart cheaper and it does a better job

    I know very little about this company and was a little concerned about this product because of that lack of knowledge. I’ve had a robotic vacuum before and although I liked it I felt it was loud and scared my little cats too much. This Ecovacs is sooooo quiet! I honestly can’t get over the difference. Almost a crazy difference on sound and also the job of cleaning it does is excellent. I have not used the mop feature as I didn’t have purified water but so far everything has been exceptional. Setting this up with Alexa was also a piece of cake and quick to accomplish. My cats are curious but not fearful for their lives anymore which makes me very pleased with this vacuum!

    Overall, I was disappointed with this robot. It does vacuum (well) and mop (well for a robot), but it doesn't differentiate between types of flooring like some other Deebot Ozmo robots. This means when you are using mopping mode, the robot will mop ALL flooring surfaces including rugs and carpets. My Deebot Ozmo 930 is able to tell the difference in flooring surfaces and will only mop the hard surface flooring. Another lacking feature is the inability to map the cleaning area on your smartphone/tablet app. Some other Deebot models will do this and allow you to set virtual boundaries for areas you want them to stay out of. On the plus side, this robot is very easy to use and set up. It will vacuum well (although in a very random pattern), and it does mop (in a more straightforward pattern). I think if you have a large area of hard flooring with few to no rugs to be concerned with, this would be a great option since it will vacuum and mop at the same time. It does have good battery life-more than my other Deebot. I just recommend you do your research on the different models to find what is best for your situation.

    The DEEBOT OZMO U2 Vacuuming and Mopping Robot is a must for any place with hardwood floors. It's a little tedious to set up in my opinion, but that's only one man's opinion. Once you get it going, sit back and see the magic. I like the mopping feature. A dream come true for caring for my hardwood floors. Charges fully very fast. So you have limited downtime.
