For something so pricey you would expect a better solution for the snap on brushes not two small little clips to connect the brush that can easily snap.

Great Vacuum, So-so Mopping
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The ECOVACS DEEBOT OZMO T8+ is an elegant tool to keep my floors free of dirt and debris. While the vacuuming is overall satisfactory, the mopping feature was lackluster. The app is pretty handy and the set-up is well explained in the reading material provided. What I like: the vacuuming, the accessories, the detailed setup, the app, and it’s not too loud. What I disliked: the mopping, obstacle avoidance, and connectivity issues. The DEEBOT OZMO T8+ vacuuming feature is great and the robot can work its way over multiple surface types (my house is a mix of hard floors and rugs). I do have to keep an eye on the robot around rug corners that may cause interference. Cleaning under the beds used to be a pain point, but the OZMO T8+ does a great job of getting to those hard to reach areas. The mopping feature comes well equipped with disposable and reusable pads, but the robot itself had some mapping issues during the mopping stage. I had to restart a couple of times because it kept going in circles on the rug trying to find the hard floor. When it did find hard floors, it repeated a lot of areas and missed some areas. From a cleansing standpoint, I don’t like that it only mops with water, not a cleaner or a disinfectant. I close my bathroom doors so as to not allow the robot to track bathroom floor germs around the house. It’s also tough to get all the water out of the reservoir which could potentially trap bacteria. The mop pad was dirty when all said and done, so I won’t say the mopping feature is completely useless, but it’s really a superficial wipe rather than a true cleansing experience. If the mapping wasn’t so wacky in mopping mode, I may use it more often, but it was truly annoying to see the robot run into a wall repeatedly until I manually moved it, the 3D obstacle avoidance did not do its job here. I have to babysit the OZMO considerably more on the mopping feature than the vacuum feature. The OZMO T8+ comes with a nifty little dual tool with a brush and razor. If the robot has an issue it will stop working and the app will notify the user that there’s dust on the sensors or the brushes may be clogged. The dual tool comes in handy here and I’ve already had to use it a couple of times. The 3D obstacle avoidance didn’t always work as the robot was pretty adamant about cleaning over cables or repeatedly running into shoes, and moving small storage boxes. The issue was mostly persistent in the mopping stage and had a few issues in the vacuuming stage. For this reason I don’t think I can run the robot while I’m out of the house. It’s mainly a personal preference given my few problem areas: a trouble rug corner here, a power strip there, etc. This may be an opportunity to do some more organizing and minimize any issues the robot may run into. The app can be extremely handy in that it has cleaning logs, a scheduler, a live map where you can see exactly where the robot is, and it allows you to change robot settings like vacuuming or mopping power. I loved seeing my cleaning logs to see what areas the robot missed, but all that information was lost when I had connectivity issues and reconnected to the network. Reconnecting wiped out all my cleaning log information which I wanted to include in this review. Overall, I do recommend the DEEBOT OZMO T8+. It’s an elegant looking robot that isn’t loud like a regular vacuum cleaner. With regular maintenance, this robot vacuum will come in handy to clean floors and keep them free of dust and debris.

Posted .Thank you for your review. Here are a few tips and tricks that may help with future cleanings. If mopping, leave the charging dock (the Auto-Empty Station) on hard flooring rather than carpet. As your DEEBOT will avoid carpet and rugs when mopping, let it start and finish its cleaning on hard flooring. As it’s cleaning, try not to pick it up or move it unless instructed to, otherwise it will lose its map and will need to start over. Be sure to save the map (look for the map icon) after your robot has completed its first cleaning and returned to the charging dock. Your DEEBOT may pause or turn in circles, but it’s working and mapping the space. It may clean rooms in sections, and will return to areas it didn’t clean. Because of this, the first cleaning may take longer, but subsequent cleanings will be more efficient. Note you can also create virtual boundaries (by also tapping the map icon) so you won’t need to close your doors to keep your DEEBOT from entering certain areas. OZMO mopping is great for routine cleaning. For scrubbing stubborn stains, you may be interested in the OZMO Pro, an optional vibrating mop accessory that replaces the standard OZMO water tank. Buyer Beware

Bought two separate units and both had the same issue. Would not even try to evacuate just instant errors with both units. Tried the troubleshooting and calling customer service and still could not get the empty function of the tower to work. Piece of junk. The sad thing is the technology and function of the robot is awesome otherwise. Just not worth the money if the empty function is useless. We did not get a chance to try the mopping as we decided to return the unit.

Won't go home

Junk & Chinese customer service non existant

As other have stated this robot has serious mapping issues. It constantly loses its location and just circles until it runs out of battery. The mopping is terrible and will only anger you. Bought the ozmo pro mopping attachment and it's terrible as well. Completely unsatisfied with ecovac and will never buy anything from them again. I've been in and out of customer service since October 30th and they haven't done anything to help me. No replacement, no repair, no fixes, no refund. Completely disgusted with this company!

Not user friendly

If the WiFi goes out, you have to reset the vacuum and the app. Then go through the long set up process again and it has to remap your house and you have to re-due all the settings. Also, the mopping function won't travel over any carpeted area to get to another hard surface. I returned this. If not for the awful app that wasted hours of my life, I might have kept it because I bought it on sale at around half price. Full price is a total rip off.

Sad

Best buy exchanged it because it was so new. In July it broke again. Dropped it off at Best Buy. Took 6 weeks and they junked it. Never got more than 6 straight months of use. It wasn't a cheap model either. So disappointed to spend that much and a year later looking for another sale to replace it.

Great for lazy people

The cheapest vacuum at Walmart or even BestBuy would do better than this. On the other hand, the app loses your map constantly, the robot gets confused and completely lost, and the thing can't even empty itself like it's supposed to. Garbage. Stop Wasting Money!

Do not buy worst

Will lose connection all the time and i have to do the initial setup each time. Pointless to have a smart vacuum that wont work when you need it. Then each time it needs to map the house. They added back up of house but still..the mop function.. well that worthless just gets floors damp.

Broke just days after new model launches

If I could give any review, I'd say with stuff like this it's worth it to spend a little more money, because the difference in product quality is huge. I got a shark instead and love it. Disappointing Ecovacs vacuum

Better than the other vacuums

We chose this one because it can vacuum, mop and empty out it self. We can run the vacuum even when we are a way. I gave it a 4 star because there are times it doesn't completely empty it out or is not able to return to it's station.

Horrible! It allows to save only 2 maps.

It is so terrible. $750 Vacuum Robot allows to save 2 maps only??? Most of the houses have 2 floors and a basement. This Vacuum saves 2 maps maximum!!! Avoid it!

Don’t buy!

Worked for about three months and then began not able to make it to it’s charging dock. It also has a ton of other glitches that make it more work trying to figure it out that it would be faster just to clean the house myself. DO NOT BUY!!!
