Excellent robot vacuum for worry free cleaning
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best robot for the money if you don’t want to have to pick up every single thing before you can run it. It truly goes around just about everything. Now for the mapping issues; You must allow it to create the first map without interruption and do not add virtual walls or stop or move the robot in anyway. Again you must allow the robot to do the first cleaning to map the house properly. It will add rooms if you close the off initially but you can not stop the robot before it saves the first map. If you do interrupt the robot you must delete the map and start over. After this you will have no issues with the mapping and editing boundaries. I also truly love the auto detect carpet and the true 3D laser technology that goes around shoes and clothing on the floor. I do not have the create no mop zones the robot will Go around rugs and stay off of carpet when the mop plate is installed. As for the mopping quality is just ok but it does clean the floors some but works better as a maintain not from dirty to clean. Also the self emptying bin actually works very well. I have tried several robots and the only one that is anything compared slightly is the Roborock vacuums on Amazon. Now those robots mop very well but you have to create no mop zones. The best the I can say about this robot after map Is created is that it’s truly automated and I don’t hav two worry about running it while I’m gone and it being caught on something or tangled in cord. This robot has spoiled me and I can’t find any other robot vacuum that has all the features this one does. If you want to label the rooms it is limited but who cares. Set it to auto clean and let it do it’s thing. You can easily schedule room cleanings and select how many passes, suction power for that room even water amount if mopping. The robot will save your settings and you can even tell it which order you want it to clean your rooms which I love. I initially returned this robot but bought it again to give it a second chance because I to had issues with the mapping. But the benefits far more out way the flaws. The only two flaws I see is the mopping is just ok and the room labeling which can be changed in a update.

SUPER HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband bought the Eco Deebot for me as a Christmas gift and I love it! It picks up great doesn’t bump into things and goes right back to the charging device when it’s finished and then it has an auto empty bin that even empties it for you, I initially had some issues with the mapping system, but I think I have it straightened out now, The mopping feature is just ok, Good for spot mopping but not a deep cleaning, There is a pro mop attachment that you can buy that probably works better. Great product but gave it 4 stars because of app mapping issues and so so mopping feature. I would definitely recommend though.

Got T8 during Black Friday promotion
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got it on a Black Friday deal after a quite extensive search. I also have an extensive robotics background and it might get more apparent further along my review. The main competitors were iRobot i7 and S9, but I ended up with buying Ecovacs T8, because it was a few hundred dollars cheaper and it has a mopping function. Pros: - price vs quality - mopping function (not impressive, but still better than nothing) - easy to clean (from stuck hair and dust) Cons: - needs re-mapping the area every 2-3 weeks - getting stuck and stuggling over low-level objects - there is no way to split an area into two "rooms" and there is no way to setup a schedule to clean an area, without calling it a "room" The mopping function is less impressive than it sounds: it does collect some extra dust compared to vacuum cleaning only, but I was hoping it would be more useful. Effectively, it just drags a fabric over a barely wet floor (with the water flow level being set to the maximum "Ultra High"). The mapping algorithm seems okay - it could map ~1000 sft after a little over 1 hour. But the robot asks to redo the mapping every 2-3 weeks. Right now the map is visible in the robot's app, but I cannot send it to a specific area - looks like a software bug. I suppose resetting the map and remapping it again will "fix" it again. The planning algorithm seems okay too - it seems to navigate fairly efficiently, until it encounters low objects (e.g. a leg of an IKEA chair makes the robot super confused - it keeps going back and forth on top of it with visibly struggling and making a lot of noise. Apparently, the robot tries to navigate this "open" area, while it cannot detect obstacles, which are 1 cm high). The robot cleaning is fairly easy - they include a tiny and convenient brush with a tiny and safe-designed blade for cutting stuck hair. Also, I could empty the trash bin easily (from the auto-empty station), for not buying these bags often. Also, there is no way to split an area into two rooms and I cannot set a schedule for a "Custom Area" - which doesn't allow me to set a daily cleaning of a small area around cats' littler. I need to clean the whole big room. A fun bonus - the robot has around 10 languages for audio notification of its status: English, Spanish, French, German, Russian, etc. Overall, the hardware seems to be fairly well done: the brushes, connectors, etc, seem to be reasonably reliable and it is easy to maintain/clean. The robot's firmware and the iPhone app looks less impressive, but hopefully they improve it over time.

Good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before this unit we had a slightly older Roomba. When comparing them the evcovac is much more efficient and through in sweeping the area. The app is easy to use but only after spending time to understand it. As a sweeper it is quieter than the Roomba but a little less efficient on rugs. It also catches on edges of throw rugs more than a Roomba. The only real problem we have with the ECOVACS is that the auto clean of the dust bin only works about half the time because it does not always sit sufficiently close to the base to seal and therefore looses suction.

Great, but Tower failure... stay tuned.
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well, it has been about 8 months after my purchase and I've run into an issue. The docking tower doesn't suck the debris from the robot. Ecovacs Support has been helpful and I will be sending the unit in for repair under the 1-yr warranty. Prior to this issue, I would've rated the robot a 4 star review. The bot does a fantastic job of day-to-day vacuuming and mopping. We have birds, and this guy manages to get the seed and feathers that are usually scattered by out upright's high speed brushes.

Outstanding would totally Recommend
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I punched this as a replacement for a two year old model. Initially I was a little put off by the price, but once I got it home, well in a word Amazing. Navigation is out standing. Maneuvers around furniture without a bump. Did not even touch my dog bowls. Mapping and scheduling options make it a truly smart robot vacuum. And the auto-empty station takes it over the top.

So Happy with this Purchase!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This, by far, for me, is better than the Roomba. It is so much more quiet and has a better mapping ability. It avoids bumping by going slower when it is detecting a furniture or an object, unlike my previous Roomba, that kept on getting stuck. Just happy with this purchase and I got a great deal on this one too!

Fantastic robot vacuum
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is fantastic. We've had another robot vacuum for several years and thought it did a very good job, but always wished it was more efficient because it just traveled the floor randomly. This robot has lidar, which is laser scanning and it very smartly maps your rooms. It vacuums and mops very well and has a ton of useful features, including self-emptying.

Great unit
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Quiet, gets everything and the self emptying dock is nice. Requires special bags (you get 3) but I am fine with that as each should last quite some time. The 3d sensor works in pitch dark unlike the AI in the other version. Only downside so far is the self emptying dock is either every time or manual (no way to set a schedule like every 3 or 4 days).

very good robot vacuum
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.our dog sheds often so the self emptying functionality is well worth the extra cost. easy to use app with mapping zones and scheduling. vac will return and recharge and finish the job if it doesn't complete on the first pass. robovac itself is quiet but the self empty is very loud so schedule accordingly.

Not a "set and forget" cleaner, but still okay
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was my second cleaning robot (1st was roomba Braava Jet m6), and I'm overall satisfied with the purchase. I mostly picked this because of its lidar navigation, since I wanted to have it clean at night (read about many issues with Roombas cleaning at night due to their reliance on camera, i.e. VSLAM). One of my biggest disappointments was that pet hair gets stuck easily, and I just have a single cat in a large house. I didn't think this would overwhelm it, but I was wrong. Not sure I'd recommend this if you have a lot of pet hair to pick up. Pros: -It navigates pretty well, doesn't bump into too many obstacles (my Roomba loved playing rough with walls, doors, chairs, etc) -Auto empty station works pretty well, though frequently fails to empty clumps of pet hair -Can purchase ($100) mopping accessory. I've used this for about a month and found that it works better than the Braava Jet m6 -Lets you set room-specific vacuum, mopping settings and keep out zones Cons: -Pet hair gets stuck easily on the roller (I only have 1 cat, no dogs), and I have to cut away the hair about 2-3x per week -Pet hair can cause auto empty mechanism to get stuck (fail to fully empty) -About 1x per week, robot fails to fully return to docking station (ends up stopping right next to it, or off at an angle) and then doesn't empty or charge -The robot seems to completely ignore "keep out" zones after it is done cleaning (i.e. returning home) -Robot sometimes goes far away when trying to return home, and can make a lot of noise going over thresholds in the process, which is annoying if you are trying to sleep at night Overall, for the money, and considering the current state of robot vacuums, I think it's a good buy and a cheap way to find out what you like and don't like about robot vacuums before buying a more expensive model in the future. And, it could continue to get better with more firmware updates in the future. But, if you were under the impression that you'd immediately be getting a *true* "set and forget" vacuum, you'll likely be a bit disappointed with this purchase.

Great robot vac but horrible warranty
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Vacuum is absolutely amazing. Best Buy was great about exchanging as it broke within the first month. I do however not like the warranty with ecovac. It broke again about 3 months after 1 year warranty was up and they would not honor a replacement. I decided to fix it myself and it’s working great again. Has really cut down on the dog hair in the house. My dog sheds a lot!

Great, but with a Fatal Flaw
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a superior robot vacuum. I loved its mapping and vacuuming. BUT it simply refused to empty the bin. Several attempts on my own got no solution. I even disassembled it in my tries. Several attempts at ECOVACS customer service did not even identify the problem. I think it was that the bin flaps were blocked when docked and I could not fix it. So it went back and got replaced with the Roomba S9+.
