I have a Deebot T10+ that does a decent job, but after about 18 months with it. I'm wondering what else might be out there. A couple years ago, I replaced my flooring on my main floor from a mix of carpet and cheap peel and stick tiles to Luxury Vinyl Planking. We found we were running our stick vacuum and our mopping a bit more frequently. So at the time, I got the Deebot T10+. It takes the Deebot T10+ about 45 minutes to clean the floor. It's mopping mechanism is a large single pad that oscillates forwards and backwards while it vacuums around the floor. I found that the mopping pad takes about 2 days to completely dry. The reservoir for water is a module that clicks into the Deebot T10+ and is good for about 2 days of mopping for my square footage. While mopping, if it encounters a rug, it backs off and avoids running over the rug. When you want it to strictly vacuum, you unplug the mopping module and plug in an air freshener module and it goes about vacuuming and increases the suction when it transitions to carpeting or a rug. But one of the bad parts is that the Deebot T10+ would get stuck in my dining room chair legs very often. Enter the Deebot X2 Omni. The base station is quite large. Immediately under the lid there are two reservoirs. One for clean water, one for dirty water. Filling the clean water reservoir is quite easy and there is an easy carry handle built into the lid. Just below the reservoir area, there is a pop open lid that holds the self empty bag. The base station stands just under 21" tall, just over 15" wide and it is almost 20" deep. You really need to charge it up to 100% before first use. I did this overnight and then set up the robot in the Ecovacs app the next day. Setting up did not take very long and there was a firmware waiting for me to install. There isn't as many options to change the suction power or scrubbing intensity. Before you can run the vacuum or mopping, you must let the X2 Omni map out your floor. This is accomplished rather quickly using the LIDAR sensor and on straightaways, it actually accelerates. Before each vacuum/mopping run, the base station dispenses water to the two rotating mopping pads to make sure they are wet. It sounds like a loud drip style coffee maker. The X2 Omni does a decent job cleaning if the object is directly in front of the robot. Otherwise, it sometimes throws crumbs/hair off to the side for the next run. But the problem with that is the exhaust of the vacuum tends to push the light stuff even further away and it ends up in the path where it already mopped. I have also noticed that the path it runs is somewhat random and doesn't always clean up 100% of the floor. There are also times where the robot will sit in the middle of an aisle thinking about where to go next. I think that the path and stalling will get fixed in subsequent firmware updates. There are two surprising things I found with the X2 Omni. The first is that it will automatically return to the station after every 15 (or more depending on your settings) minutes of run time to clean and re-wet the mopping pads. It takes about 1 minute to accomplish this. Then it goes again continuing where it left off. When it finally returns to the station, there is another cleaning session and then it goes right into a hot-air drying cycle that lasts about 2 hours or more (depending on the setting). This changes the cleaning time of my robotic vacuum from the 45 minutes with the Deebot T10+ to about 70 minutes with the Deebot X2 Omni. With the mopping pad cleaning frequency, I’m finding that I have to empty the dirty water and refill the clean water reservoirs about every 3 days instead of 2 days with the T10+. The X2 Omni does tell you when it needs to be refilled, but also it won't run the vacuum/mopping unless the reservoir has been refilled. I also find the X2 Omni is more communicative than the Deebot. It does this with is Yiko voice assistant with audible prompts, but it also sends a notification to your phone. I haven't yet found the setting to silence the audible prompts. Overall, I am finding the X2 Omni does not get stuck in my chair legs due to it slightly smaller size. It still gets stuck with cords. It takes a little longer to clean. With the mopping pad cleaning and the air drying, it will certainly take more electricity. But what bothers me is the pushing dirt into previously cleaned areas and the questionable pathways it takes that doesn't seem like it cleans 100% of the floor space. Looking at the finished pathway in the app, it seems to meander through its cleaning path rather than making straight grid like pathways. If I had to do it over, I probably would look elsewhere for a better product at this price point.

The X2 mop and vacuum keep our house clean (we have three dogs), and the ample water and dust bag in the auto clean station make life much easier with a once-a-week clean-out (we vacuum five days and mop and vacuum two days). The mapping does not work as expected from such a premium-priced robot vacuum, but our workaround is the whole ground floor is scheduled for cleaning. The battery does not last an entire cleaning cycle when mopping and vacuuming, so the robot vacuum needs to return for a recharge but gets it done before we wake up.

This Ecovacs X2 Omni is the fourth Ecovacs cleaning robot I’ve owned. I’ve also owned cleaning robots from other manufacturers – some of which I’ve sung their praises. But the Ecovacs line has been my favorite for a while now. I was excited to get the X2 Omni primarily because of how it blends mopping and vacuuming into one system. For clarity, a number of cleaning robots will mop and vacuum, but will only do one core function at a time, meaning that you are either in mopping mode or in vacuuming mode. Mopping-only mode with other mop/vacuum models will skip any area where a carpet exists so the carpet doesn’t get wet. I personally was looking for a cleaning robot that could successfully mop and vacuum concurrently. As an example, my master bathroom floor is tile and requires vacuuming and mopping. But to get to the bathroom, a robot would have to go through my carpeted bedroom to get there. A robot in mopping mode would simply stop when it encountered my bedroom carpet and would go no further. As a result, my bathroom would never get mopped. Enter the X2 Omni. One big reason why mopping robots don’t want to cross carpets is that their mops – the portion that sits beneath the robot and spins to clean the floor – would hit the carpet and get the carpets wet. Plus, the mop itself could get hung up on the carpet. To avoid these issues, the X2 Omni has a feature where it raises its mops off the floor to elevate the mops from touching anything. They are lifted off the floor by 15mm, just shy of .6 inches. With the X2 Omni, it will first vacuum my bedroom carpet with the mops raised, then it would travel to my bathroom, lower the mops, and proceed to mop the floor. After mopping the floor, it would travel to my closet (connected to the bathroom), raise the mops again, and then vacuum there. As an aside, all other cleaning robots I’ve owned have been round shaped, like a clock’s face. The X2, however, is shaped like a square – which is supposed to help with improved cleaning. My home has a mix of tiled and carpeted floors. My living room, for example, is tiled, yet has a large space rug. This is the room where the X2’s docking station sits. Setting the X2 Omni up in the Ecovacs app was easy. Since I already own an Ecovacs, I avoided the need to download the app and create an online profile. To add the X2, I went to the Add Robot screen (by swiping right) and the app found the new robot and started the integration process. It only took a few minutes to get it set up. Before using the X2, I wanted to give it a full charge. So, I docked the robot with its docking station and let it sit there for a couple of hours. Shortly afterwards, I received a notice that an application update was available and installed it accordingly. The next major step was to allow the X2 to do a floor survey. These floor surveys cause the robot to run through your house and map out each room’s dimensions. The resulting ap is then saved in the app/robot for when you run a cleaning cycle. But there’s more. You can divide up rooms appearing in the map using tools inside the Ecovacs app, or combine rooms, if you prefer. You can even name rooms, although this piece of the app is a bit anemic. What you name rooms is limited to a list of names already predefined in the system. So, you can’t name a room “Master Bedroom”, but can select the name “Bedroom” from the list of valid names even though you might have more than one bedroom. For each room identified in the map, you can specify what special cleaning requirements each room might have. For example, if your dining room floor is always especially dirty, you can note in the map that that particular room needs a deep cleaning. While I did go through each room defined in the map and noted each one’s cleaning requirements, in the end I chose to use the AI option. The AI option – in a hands-off manner - assesses the requirements of each room depending on what it finds in the room during a cleaning cycle. I followed the X2 around as it made its way through the house, and it was quite adept at going between mopping and vacuuming modes. My carpeted master bedroom and subsequent tiled master bathroom and closet went cleaned without a hitch. While the X2 may have a larger battery than, say, my X1 Omni, the X2’s battery was depleted before it completed its cleaning cycle. It then returned to the docking station for recharging with less than 20% battery remaining. From a cleaning perspective, it had completed about 95% of all the rooms. When it recharged its battery to about 50%, it resumed cleaning. When all was completed, the X2 returned to the docking station, announced that it was going to empty the dustbin, and then resumed charging to reach 100% capacity. It also turned on its heaters to dry the mopping pads. The X2 Omni cleaning robot is feature-rich, so even though I’ll be using the AI cleaning cycle for a while yet, I will be tweaking the app over time to get it right where I want it. Only time will tell, but I may end up defaulting to the AI option long term. As I noted above, the X2 is not the first Ecovacs robot I’ve used. Still, I think it is one of the best. As such, I am going to give this unit a 5-star review.

The DEEBOT X2 OMNI by ECOVACS is a marvel of modern home cleaning technology. This flagship robot vacuum stands out with its dual laser navigation system, ensuring it navigates your home with precision and efficiency. It’s not just a vacuum; it’s a vacuum and mop combo, equipped with an automatic dust disposal and mopping pad washing system that takes convenience to the next level. One of the most lauded features is its 8,000Pa suction power, which represents a significant upgrade from its predecessor, making it a powerhouse when it comes to picking up debris and pet hair. The innovative D shape is designed for better corner and edge cleaning, ensuring that no spot is left untouched. The X2 OMNI also boasts a hot-water mop washing feature, which is a hygienic addition to its self-cleaning capabilities. With the ability to lift the mop over carpets, it ensures that your floors are meticulously cleaned without dampening areas that shouldn’t be wet. Adding to its impressive list of features is a built-in security camera and voice assistant, providing not just cleaning assistance but also a touch of home security and smart home integration. The AI obstacle avoidance technology is a testament to its advanced capabilities, allowing it to maneuver around your home without getting stuck. While it’s a premium product with a price to match, the DEEBOT X2 OMNI justifies its cost with a suite of features that make it the lowest-maintenance and most powerful robotic floor cleaner tested by many reviewers. It’s a perfect fit for those who value their time and prefer a hands-off approach to keeping their floors immaculate. The DEEBOT X2 OMNI is not just a cleaning device; it’s a smart home upgrade that promises to make life easier and cleaner.

The Deebot X2 omni is a very nice robot that will help keep my home tidy. With cleaning options to vacuum, mop, and do both simultaneously it is very efficient. It comes securely packaged, and setup is a breeze. There are some minimum clearances around the dock that must be observed when deciding on placement, and failing to leave ample space results in errors in returning to base. Setup was really as simple as downloading the app, pairing with the Bluetooth, and making a few selections, then filling the clean water tank. One thing that tripped me up initially was the power switch on the dock. It's a rocker switch, and I would expect to press the top for power on, but this one is setup so pressing the bottom turns on the power. Once everything is paired and Wi-Fi is setup in the app, the robot will ask to map the area. Make sure obstacles are removed and doors are closed for rooms you don't want the robot to enter and send it on its way. This robot has more advanced sensors than our older Deebot, and mapping was much faster. After mapping was complete. I asked the robot to vacuum and mop. It did not get every square inch on the first pass, so I had it perform the same function again a few hours later and noticed that it cleaned some of the areas it missed the first time around, so for maintenance I'd probably have it run several times per week. When cleaning was finished, I emptied the dirty water tank, and was surprised by the amount of dirt it picked up in less than a quart of water for the first two cleaning cycles. I also noticed that it cleans its mop brushes whe it returns to base. The app allows for automatic cleaning cycles on a schedule you define, as well as the ability to have the robot clean on demand. For these cleanings you can select any of the various modes. All in all, I found the X2 Omni to be a very capable and effective floor cleaning machine for day-to-day maintenance. I highly recommend it.

First, I want to say that I have had two generations of another brand robotic vacuum. While they have done a good job, this machine has done better in most ways. First, the set up of the product was very simple and the instructions are straight forward and easy to follow. Second, the app is also simple and easy to use and lets you customize jobs and areas easily. After getting the product set up and confirming the battery is fully charged, you send the robot out to map your house layout. This takes about a hour or so and I highly recommend picking up things that are not normally on the floor. After it has completed, then you can go into the map on the app and configure areas into sections, rename them, set no go zones for either vacuuming, mopping or both. Then, fill the water tank, and send it off on its job. This can be done through voice control (yes it talks back) or through the app. You have full control. This machine has done a great job of vacuuming and mopping, QUIETLY. Compared to others, this thing is ninja quiet LOL. Connection to the WIFI was easy and has never dropped. The one thing that I don't like or understand is the top cover. It just lays on top and has fallen off when it bumped something. And this doesn't bump items hard like my other vacuum. I really am enjoying this machine and if I could only stop my dog from chasing it around barking at it!

Its innovative design allows for both vacuuming and mopping in a single pass, ensuring comprehensive floor cleaning. The precision of its navigation system is commendable, seamlessly adapting to various surfaces and avoiding obstacles. The app control and scheduling features make it convenient to customize cleaning routines. The battery life is impressive, providing ample coverage before requiring a recharge. The dustbin capacity is decent, and the mopping functionality adds an extra layer of cleanliness. While the price point may be higher, the Deebot X2 Omni justifies it with its advanced features and performance. Overall, a solid investment for those seeking a comprehensive and time-saving solution for home cleaning.

There are many factors to look for when purchasing a robot vaccum cleaner. For me the technology and price and performance were important factors. I owned Ecovavs robot vaccum cleaners in the past, and I was super confident on the brand's quality and technology, and after reading and researching I decided to go with this model. I was not disappointed. If you are a dog owner, then this device cleans your apt with eade and gets rid of all the furs and dirt very easily. It manges to clean very close to the baseboards where all the furs seems to accumulate. The programming was easy and it is super convenient tht it does it all when you are away from home with the amusement look on my dogs face. Its a must purchase

The Deebot X2 Omni is a robot that can vacuum and mop your floors with little effort from you. It has a square-ish shape that helps it get closer to the corners and edges of your rooms, and a strong suction that can pick up dust, dirt, and pet hair. It also has a smart mopping system that can wash and dry the pads automatically, and lift the mop over carpets to avoid wetting them. It can also empty its dustbin and dirty water into a base station, and has a camera and a voice assistant for extra convenience. It’s a great robot, but it’s also very expensive and sometimes gets stuck while turning or bumps into things.
