Good Coverage but missing Features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The eero 6 AX1800 is a wi-fi system for someone who wants a very simple wi-fi network. For anyone who wants to control their wi-fi network this router will not meet their needs. Even with the simple eero system configuration and set up I ran into several issues that may be problematic for someone who is not network savy. The overall coverage provided by the two satellite stations and the base unit is good. The plus side here is that due to coverage I am now able to get connectivity with the eero mesh set up where as before I had areas with no wireless connectivity from my existing router. The overall speed of eero system is difficult to determine which I explain below. The eero Wi-Fi system does not have any type of configurable Quality of Service – QOS which means you cannot control or limit the bandwidth being used by your kids playing games or streaming videos while you are trying to do your work in your home office. I think this is a major flaw in this system. Also, note that the main hub only has one available ethernet port for wired expansion and the satellites do not have any. This means everything has to be wireless or you need to purchase additional networking gear. The system does not support USB network drives. The app you use to control the eero system is very intuitive but it is only supported on phones and tablets, it is not supported on a laptop. Setup: Setting up the eero system is very quick but this can be misleading. You download the app and follow the specific directions given in the app. They recommend you use the existing SSID and password that you have in your existing router so that everything comes up working when you turn off the old unit and turn on the new one. I followed these directions and for the most part about 70% of my devices did in fact come up working. The misleading part of this is that the devices did not show up in the eero management app as being on the network. In other words, I had smart plugs working on the network but when I looked in the eero app they were not listed as being on the network. To get all my devices to show up in the app I had to go to each device and delete the old network configuration and add a new one even though both configurations where identical. When the device signed into the network the eero app recognized the device and added it to the program. Sorry to say that just power cycling or rebooting the devices had no effect, only reconfiguring the network settings worked. Reconfiguring phones, tablets and laptops aren’t that time consuming but all the small devices like smart plugs, security cameras and appliances can take some time and patience. I also had an interesting issue when the eero router decided that accessing my isp gateway was a security risk and started blocking my access. Nowhere in the app is there a listing of blocked sites nor did I find a way to unblock the access. Adding New Devices: Adding a new device was generally very simple but there were some devices that were very problematic. When I would add a new device the eero app would alert me that a new device joined the network. I would then open the app to name the new device and add a proper icon to the device. The app is very intuitive and it does show you what devices are connected to the router hub and satellites. Problems occurred when I tried to add devices like my vacuums that only supported the 2.4 ghz band. The eero router would attempt to add devices to the 5 ghz band and thus it constantly failed. After doing some searching I found an option hidden in the troubleshooting section that allows you to “Temporarily pause 5 Ghz”! Great idea to have this option but its too bad its buried in the troubleshooting section of the app. Coverage: I placed the base unit and two satellites strategically around my house to cover the most space. My overall coverage when I checked with a wi-fi analyzer on my phone was better than what I had with my old single router. Throughput Speed: This is very difficult to judge due to the lack of control and information you have with the eero router and app. My isp provides 500mb service to the gateway. The eero app verified that I was getting 500mb download from the gateway but I could never pull more than about 200 mb on my laptop or phone using Speed test. For this testing I was using a new Iphone 12 pro that supports wi-fi 6 and a standard laptop that did not support wi-fi 6. As I checked around the house the typical eero speed test was about 1/3rd less than my old router. I do not know if the eero router is limiting the download speed due to some type of internal configuration or if it is just that much slower. Also keep in mind that any devices connected via a satellite can be speed limited due to the connectivity between the main hub and the satellite.

BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best purchase ever! I came to buy a different brand mesh router system & asked 1 of the workers for advice. I didn't know much about these just was going by price. I told him I wanted the best bang for the buck and he recommended the eero mesh system. I'm sooo happy that I asked questions and got this. It took me less than 10 minutes to set up ( was SUPER EASY) and our home wifi connection is FASTER than it has ever been! I even get a stong signal at the bottom of my driveway! The Eero app is also super easy to manage and monitor as well. Thank you vest Buy for recommending this!

Great product, activating requires cell service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After 4 days, this product has exceeded my expectations. Unfortunately for me, I had difficulty with the install because I replaced the Xfinity modem at the same time, and thus could not access the internet until the router was installed. The router installation requires internet access, apparently via my cell phone, but the cell signal at my house is weak and non-existent in the basement, where I was trying to activate the router. My tips are: 1) make sure you download the EERO app to your phone before you lose internet access (get rid of you modem/router). The router kept stopping at the registering phase, I guess because it would not or could not access the internet via my working modem until after it was registered. Ultimately I used a long ethernet cable to activate the router in the second floor of my house, where the cell signal was just strong enough (two bars) to get past the registration. Since then, it has been awesome. With my original Xfinity combination modem router, I could never connect to it on the second floor of my house and not really very well on the first floor. But with the EERO router, in the basement, before I even installed the other two units, I had excellent wifi on the second floor. it was worth the effort to install.

Extremely Happy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to set up and use. I get great coverage inside and outside my home. I’m was not sure of what to purchase and was not even aware of the Mesh system. But after talking with a customer service representative they explained to me in English terms that I could understand what the difference between the one I was looking at and the Mesh system. Very happy with the Mesh system and the help I received from the associate.

eero Mesh System Was Just What I Needed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.r a long time, I had suffered from poor wifi reception throughout my house. The house is long, and the router, which had to be located at one end of the house. would not provide an acceptable signal at the other end. In addition, multiple wifi based security cameras created problems with a shared signal. With the eero mesh system, all those problems were eliminated. The entire house is covered with a strong signal, and all my devices perform as intended. The installation of the mesh system was remarkably simple, with the eero system doing most of the work.

easy set up, good coverage
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received the eero mesh network through the best buy tech insider network to test and give my unbiased opinion. Let's star with setup. The main unit and 2 sattelite units are included in the box, power cords for all 3, and an ethernet cable, as well as brief set up instructions. As is typical it says download the app first with most products today, then follow the app. They claim 10 minute setup of this. I'm pretty sure it didn't even take that for me. I plugged in the 2 sattelite units on my main floor where I wanted them, then the base unit where my cable modem service is in my basement. I set this up with the same settings as my old wifi unit and all my old stuff connected that was on the 2.4ghz network. that included my doorbell and thermostat and a few devices (ipad, kindles). I did need to re-connect my echo show, tv, and my phone to the network, but all went seamless. Initially I thought this was only putting out 2.4ghz, though it said dual band. I'm so used to having to work with 2 networks in my house for 2.4 and 5ghz, this only shows one only 1 network. Digging further I found this sends both and my devices choose what to connect. I always run my phones, tv, computers on the 5ghz if I can, and the devices I want on that are there. That works for me. Coverage appears to be as good as my old netgear nighthawk ac1900 that I had, my workhorse for the last 5 or better years that I've had it. I'm going to stick with this network for now because my wife's iphone 11pro (and all iphones for some reason, none of my other devices) had a deadspot in my dining room, now it does not, but we'll see if that has other deadspots. So far I have found none. My house is 3500sqft finished between 2 floors, around 4500 total if you include unfinished, so this should handle it since my old unit did. One thing that I lost, and I don't know why amazon did not do this with this system is a capability to add a hard drive by usb to the network to create a household back up. I have had that on my last 2 netgear routers. Linksys even has this feature. I'm the only one in the house that used it for sharing files, and only rarely, that's why I'm ok with switching for now, but that is something that I think was handy so I could get files instantly at any of my computers. Overall, with as easy and seamless as this went, 5 stars. A good price point for this one.

Superb Wi-Fi, incredible tech service!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My home is approximately 3,000 Sq Feet, it is entirely concrete block treated with special insulating foam injected into the blocks for added insulation, sound deadening, and the home is designed in a U shaped with a swimming pool in the U. Getting a decent and consistent Wi-Fi signal from 1 end to the other has been barely acceptable until installation of the Eero Mesh system. I now have a strong consistent signal, my Wi-Fi problems are no more. In a nut shell, Eero has produced an outstanding product in it's Mesh 6 system (3 pack) comprised of an aesthetically designed minimal size router and 2 aesthetically designed Wi-Fi Signal Extenders. INSTALLATION: I thought that it would be cut and dried and expected to be up and running in 10 minutes; however, this was not the case. The complications were due to my having a single 3 way Modem router combo that provides high speed Internet, cable TV, and a telephone landline. I tried following directions via the provided Eero app, but installation was a no go. Exasperated, I phoned the Eero Tech support hotline and was immediately connected to tech rep that was not just knowledgeable, but patient, explained what had to be done, and stayed with me leading each time consuming procedure. I have numerous electronic devices to include indoor and outdoor cameras, electronic locks, 4 computers ( 2 Apple Mac, 1 Dell 1 Asus, 3 iPads, 2 Alexa and 2 Google hubs, 2 Homepods, all controlling lights, speakers and appliances. You get the idea. I mention this because the tech support provided by Eero ranks as 1 of the best experiences I have ever received. If for no other reason than fear of installing the Eeero mesh 6 Wi-Fi system, the Eero tech support service makes this a none issue. If fear of reliability is a concern, my experience with their service staff should eliminate that concern. Eero is a top notch tech company with an extraordinary tech staff to provide superior customer service. I unhesitatingly recommend their Wi-Fi 6 dual band Mesh system. Imagine, a great product and great tech support!

Easy setup and FAST connections
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm using this system with Xfinity, and the setup requirements are different depending on your service provider and how your network is configured...or how you want it to be configured. Detailed instructions are available through the eero app or at eero.com. I chose to set my Xfinity Gateway to bridge mode so it would only function as a modem and not a router, but you do lose some ISP features. This is a “mesh” system that replaced my wireless gateway and 2 wireless access points. Unlike traditional wireless routes that can conflict with each other and other devices, these units work together to eliminate dead spaces and uneven signal strength. The installation is simple and easy, and is completed through an android or IOS app. Basically, you download the app, unplug your modem, and open the app and follow the instructions. I had the main unit and 2 satellite units set up in less than 5 minutes. My Wi-Fi speeds on my phones and laptop increased from 100+ Mbps to 350+ Mbps. You can control all the mesh units from the app as well as any devices connected to the system. There’s a feature in the app to manage Amazon Connected home devices and a beta feature that will prioritize devices to connect to the 5 GHz band. This system has tripled my wireless network speed and completely reduced my steaming device lag or freeze-ups! With over 20 wireless devices and 8 wired connected to my network, we’ve had no slowdowns or dropped connections!

Solved all my WiFi problems
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had issues with WiFi reaching the second bedroom upstairs. The wireless router was ok at best. Installed the Eero and it literally solved all my WiFi problems. I could stream on both my upstairs TV, use my iPad and my wife could actually use her laptop and not have to worry about connection issues. Easy to setup, easy to use. Must have.

Wifi Simplified!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The eero 6 AX1800 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 6 System (3-pack) is packaged nicely. Little white unobtrusive cubes, can be placed about anywhere there is a plug nearby. Everything needed for setup and installation is included. Network cable to connect main node to modem and each node has it's own USB-C power adapter Setup was really simple following the guide from downloading the eero app. Disconnect your modem and router and follow the prompts. Device name and password setup prompts are included in the prompts. To be honest, this is a very simple system to setup and get running. It really is so easy, non-techies can do it. I really love the simplicity of the system. Wifi range is full bars in a 2700 sq/ft single story house. No drop in wifi connections or coverage. Outdoor security camera gets full signal. Did I say I love how simple it was to setup? :) It's is simple, so don't expect to make a lot of tweaking to settings. I like to keep it simple. Set it and forget it, so easy my mom could probably do it.

It’s not great but could be
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The good Fast Wi-Fi connection speeds. Easy to set up albeit you have to use the eero app. App is easy to navigate and use. The not so good Have to to download the eero app to setup and create an account or login with your Amazon account. I was reluctant do do so but I did it anyways. About the app, if you sign out of the eero app, you lose access to the eero dashboard and to your network settings and info. It still works but you have to log back in to make changes, etc. The app is basic and could have more user control. Deduct 1 star because of this. Minus another star because I’ve rebooted the eero 4 times since my purchase on 12/24. Not acceptable. I’m leaning towards packing it all up and returning to BB and getting something where I’m not required to be signed in to an app at all times and did I mention the troubleshooting section of this unit. It’s a joke

An affordable wifi 6 mesh system for an avg use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Eero 6 Wi-Fi mesh is a great addition to the home networking, and a two-unit would suffice for a 2500 sq.ft, and 3 units would have a wider coverage. The eero device is easy to set up, takes about 10 mins or less, and one is ready to use it right away. The max speed coverage with these is up to 500 Mbps, so be aware of this if you are looking for a 1 Gbps speed, then look for some other wifi mesh brand. One other thing to note is compatibility with older devices. Most older devices are compatible but few have issues. I have a 2013 Lenovo all-in-one desktop computer that did not find the new Eero SSID, even after upgrading its wifi driver. So, the solution for such devices are use a USB wifi adapter, if possible. Else, stay on the wifi 5

Improvement across the board!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My previous setup was a Linksys Tri-Band Wi-Fi 5 with a Dual-Band Node. While I didn't have any complaints with that setup. I always like to upgrade whenever I can. Upgrading to this eero Wi-Fi 6 system actually improved my coverage and Wi-Fi speeds. I have 500/30 Internet with Spectrum and I can say I get close to that limit during speed tests in multiple locations at my household. I can finally say I am a wireless household! Thanks.

Good Decision for My Home
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.OUTSTANDING. router I've owned. I've owned a multitude of routers, all based on measurable reviews. Easy setup, solved a list of connection issues from myQ to Ring to coverage and buffering. I hate recalling the money I've spent on other 4-5 Star routers. Perfect? NO - dependent on YOUR needs and preferences. As for me and my house the EERO 6, 3 pack was a bullseye.

Top of the line wi fi system!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used a couple of different wi fi signal extender systems. eero just sits on the top of all the rest. Easy to set up, customize for your home and needs and provides great and powerful signal distribution to all those areas of your home that had the weak or spotty signal. It is reliable, automatically updates and has an app that also notifies you on your phone of system changes, updates or issues. This is a must have in the work from home connected times we are in!
