Im a pretty hard power user of windows , been using pcs since i was 6 years old, im a mechanical engineering student and needed something with some horsepower to run simulations and and 3d model, Now im a pretty seasoned system builder and i will flat out say it right now if you buy this laptop buy an extra stick of 8 gbs 1rx8 ddr4 2400mhz memory make sure its 1rx8 its important, After installing the second stick my performance with this laptop literally doubled, i went from running overwatch at barely 28 frame per second to 67 frames per second , the ryzen 7 is an awesomely powerful cpu coupled with the vega 10 its basically like having an i7 and a gtx 1050, its basically a solid entry level gaming laptop catch this thing on sale and you're robbing bestbuy blind, This laptop with a few light tweaks to windows power settings and the keyboard back-light set to off and the screen set to 50% i get a solid 8-10 hours of battery life when reading articles, reading my digital copies of textbooks, and when word processing, in multimedia environments such as youtube or netflix i get approx. 4-5 hours which is still unreal, I recommend adding the second stick of ram (the 1rx8 spec. is very important it will cause latency issues without that) , and hop into windows power settings adjust the maximum processor speed on battery to 75% and the minimum to 1%, not only that but hp also setup this ryzen processor to draw 25 max watts instead of 15 max watts which means it has more power to spare and will perform better than other laptops with the ryzen processor in it, this is the best performance per dollar i have ever owned i've owned multiple laptops before i always spend over 1200 dollars to get this level of performance i've never seen this kind of performance for 650-849 dollars.

The computer was okay, not what I expected. It froze several times within the first few days of purchase. Had to shut it down and start it again, very annoying ended up returning the computer

This hp envy is a good computer but the battery Is really bad it only last 3 Hours and sometimes not even that long its supposed to last 5 hours
