Q: Does this laptop allow you to upgrade the ram and SSD like the Ryzen 5 version?
A: Yes, the RAM and SSD in this laptop can be upgraded.
Q: How long is the battery life? And is it loud or hot?
A: The battery life is up to 8 hours. The temps and fan speed noise will vary based on what you are doing on the computer.
Q: 2nd drive bay? In addition to the M.2 PCIe drive can a 2.5 drive be added to this laptop?
A: Answering my own question. Hard Drive Cable: L20103-001 Hard Drive Rubber Sleeve: L21894-001 will be needed to add the HDD. Problem is you can't buy these parts yet. So won't be able to add it until these parts are for sale. From what I understand it will support a 1TB 2.5" SATA HDD.
Q: Does it include the HP digital pen?
A: No it does not. Sadly you have to buy that separately.
A: Yes, there is a ventilation grille on the left side of the unit.
A: There are instructions on how to perform maintenance on HP's support website. There are 2 SODIMM slots, one of which is populated with 8GB of RAM. Best Buy's Geek Squad will upgrade the RAM for you for a fee as well as cost of parts. I'm not sure what, if any, the discount is if you get the upgrade when you buy it, but usually it would be $39.99 for the service fee and about $80 for another 8GB of RAM for a total of 16GB.
A: We do not test the computers with third party components. There are many factors involved. The RAM that is preinstalled in this computer is Part number 862398-855, 8GB, 2400MHz, PC4-17000, 1.2v DDR4 SODIMM RAM.
Q: How much dedicated video memory does it have, because 90% of games require 2 for a good experience
A: This model shares the RAM on the motherboard for the processor.
