Overall good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The labtop is fairly good. The keyboard could do better. Especially the mouse pad. A little rusty there. They definitely need to put in better speakers.

Computer gets really hot
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After reading all the good reviews, I decided to get this for school. Its a nice computer with nice graphics and pretty fast processor but it gets too hot. Battery dies fast as well.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although I haven’t used my laptop as much as I would’ve liked i think it was a great purchase for me and what i need it for it took a little time to get used to but overall its cool

Decent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well furnished with good speaker phones and monitor . It’s really very fast and the only annoying is the battery life which can’t exceed the 3 hours of soft usage ( no videos or games )

Average configuration
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It does great with usual stuff. But if you need it for programming, this might not be a good choice. Hard disk and CPU reaches 100% for simply running Android Studio and usual software

Heat and battery problems
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On two different units I had the same problems: it got way too hot even with the fan blowing continually, and the battery drained faster than expected, about 30% in 1 hour. Brand new I expected better than 3 hour battery life. HP tech support updated the BIOS and the AC drivers, but it didn’t seem to help. They offered to fix it for free, but I declined.

ok laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this laptop boasts a lot of great features, but the way they function is just subpar. The keys on the keyboard are some what off and hard to work with. the bezel around the screen is really small so often one can accidentally touch the touchscreen when trying to adjust the angle of the screen and the trackpad has some weird functions to it and does not always recognize the difference between a single and a double click. wish i could return it but unfortunately its too late.

Had glitches right out of box
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Check the sound with earphones in, mine was mute first 3 seconds of any video or music I listened to. Mute for another 3 seconds when I paused anything. My cursor disappeared a few times when the little box pops up to upload photos to a site. When scrolling on the screen I could hear the scrolling - even on mute. Gave HP 2 days to fix but they were unable too. I just returned it. Pretty annoyed considering I waited for black Friday deals and now have to purchase another laptop at full price. Thank best buy and HP....

Heavy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its an ok system to replace my dell that was stolen. Purchased fast because I can't be without. There are much better deals to be had. It is very heavy and awkward.

DO NOT BUY!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this laptop in February 2019 and it has already been sent to be repaired twice. MAJOR battery issues and problems with finger print scanner. Advertised specs say 12.75 hours for battery life but a new battery barely lasts 4 hours. I'm on my third new battery and best buy suggests keeping the laptop on hibernation to attain their specified battery life instead of issuing a refund or fair exchange.

Could be better
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the laptop, but it does get hot quickly. Also, because it got hot the bottom rubber part came off. The battery life could be better.

Bells and whistles
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the hp envy and unfortunately the one that I bought had issues with the battery. After running the computer for an hour it managed to lose more than half of its life beginning from 74 percent and dropping down to 6 percent in an hour and 15 minutes. I was able to go back to Best Buy and they made it right for me the staff there was very professional and assisted me with my exchange. I exchanged it for the same laptop hopefully there are no issues with this one.

Can see keyboard numbers and letters when sitting
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Disappointed when I rec'd this computer. From a sitting position you cannot see the numbers or letters on the keyboard, the tiles look completely silver.

Looks nice. Decent specs.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looked very nice. Returned for a different brand with higher specs. If the specs are good enough for your needs, the build quality was impressive.

Great computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this computer on 6-11 to replace the other Envy that died on me yeaterday(the fan died on me and I had bought it 2 days ago) the one I replaced was last years model. I could tell right away this computer is better constructed from last years model, the hinges feel stronger, the fan vent in located on the left side. It is lighting fast with the SSD M.2 . I lost lots of storage switching from last year to this one( last years had 1tb HHD vs 250Gb, and the RAM too, this one only has 12, last years had 16). I can say this newer model is dimmer than last year, but this could be to the fact it has better battery, 12 hrs VS 10 hrs. The things I don’t like about this model is that the SSD is only 256GB, I think it should be 512GB, Windows Hello uses the fingerprint reader rather than the camera, the face recognition is disabled and I haven’t figured out how to enable it, The fingerprint reader located on the right side feels like a small button, and it takes time to get used to, very annoying, the face recognition was better. Another thing I saw at the HP website that with this model that it should come with the pen, however, I don’t see one with the one bought from bestbuy, it could be a mistake with HP I haven’t seen any videos on line to see if it has the space to add an actual SSD drive rather than a M.2 SSD. So far, I like this computer, it logs on in seconds, is light, feels elegant, hinges are better constructed and the things I don’t like are the 256GB SSD, I believe it should be 512, the fingerprint reader on the wrong spot, but those are things I can live with,

3 Failed Repairs
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great Laptop other than one thing. There is a buzzing static noise on the right side of the keyboard and speaker area constantly. Its sometimes quiet and other times it get really loud. either way its not acceptable and should not be an issue. It has been brought in to geek squad at least twice, and shipped off for repair 3 times. Every time it has been sent back "Fixed" yet it still has the exact same issue. I wonder if they actually even looked at it, because it obviously has the same problem every single time. Supposedly HP replaced the motherboard on the second time out for repair but i have my doubts. Just got it back from the 3rd repair today and included in our shipment case was paperwork for a completely different customer. Makes you really wonder if HP even cares. I better be getting my money back. its under warranty for another 2 weeks.

returned to store.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not enough memory. My old envy had 1 tg hard drive. Hp no longer offers this in the envy at this price line. Hp thinks that digital is were its at. They think that because they are hp they can do anything. They lost me as a customer and asus brand found me.
