HP Envy x360 display issue - self-cracking
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a long-time HP buyer/user with probably close to 20 in our families' lifetime however my experience with this model has been frustrating and upsetting. For a $1000 laptop I expected much more from HP and sorry to say they did not deliver (and neither did Best Buy). I bought this for my daughter for college. Within the first week, the display failed. Best Buy did step up and replace with another one. However a month later the screen unexpectedly cracked when she was opening the laptop, No dropping, no impact events, nothing but opening the laptop. Upon researching on-line, there are a growing number of these quality complaints from other x360 users that experienced the exact same event. HP and their Support Line will not admit that there is an issue and take a hard-line that it's user-caused physical damage and you have to pay for repairs. They told me my only other option is to take it back to Best Buy but when I did, they took the same stance. So I've got a $1000 lemon after less than 2 months. HP has been in court for other models with display issues in the past so guess I have to wait for enough of these issues to add up before they take responsibility. Needless to say they have lost a long-time customer now. If you're looking for a HP, probably should consider lower-end models - avoid x360s until they improve on this quality issue.

Glass Screen Shatters on the slightest Impact!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a 2-1 laptop that is constructed poorly and will break under normal usage. If want a laptop that can easily convert into tablet mode, avoid this laptop. Between the two hinges, there is enough play to crack the screen just from holding it tightly while walking. It will not survive being placed in a backpack. Since the digitizer is an integral part of the glass touch screen, once you develop a fracture, the screen will start sending the computer erroneous commands to open new windows or close files. Apart from the screen, the laptop is loud,, the lights on the keyboard don't work all of the time, and the padding on the bottom of the device will fall off within weeks. Price to fix the screen is over $500 with a two week turnaround time from HP. You do not need this hassle in your life.

Disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Computer crapped out on me in a month. No malware, no viruses, it was just that bad. The guy who helped me told me it would be perfect for gaming, and I bought it for over a thousand dollars. I could have bought an Ibuy Power computer with 5 times the strength for cheaper. I cant play games that are 3d, or any multiplayer games. If this computer was released in 2006 I may have considered purchasing it if it was 50 dollars straight from the factory. I have no words for the amount of frustration this abomination has given me. Disappointed. And to all of you thinking about buying this computer, I wouldn't recommend it as a gaming computer, like the "expert" at Bestbuy told me...

Bad build
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice touch screen, but really bad build quality... the screen is falling apart at the edges.. Started with really bad screen bleeds then it started coming apart.. this laptop has never left my house, very casual use. At almost a grand for this thing it should of lasted a long time, its only a year and a few month old. I wont buy HP again...

Looks are deceiving
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought that a laptop that was made of steel would be more durable but this laptop on bottom broke twice within the first six months and just weeks after the warranty was out the motherboard went out which Geek Squad wants me 400 dollars to replace it. Now have to get another one just after a year because the repairs are costing more than a new laptop. Junk!

Stopped working after 2 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I enjoyed the computer the first month. Then I noticed the sides were beginning to split. As time passed, it got worse. Today I realized it is caused by the 360. When you open and flip it completely you can see the stress it produces on the body opening the gap on the side seams. Two days ago i started my computer and it started making a grinding noise on left side. I tried to open several times that day and it would make the noise alternatively. Yesterday when i started my computer screen had a warning to not continue because the fan no longer worked. In reading reviews now, i realize that fan has been an issue for many people. I took it back to BB and pray that they give me a new one... DON'T INVEST IN PURCHASING THIS COMPUTER. THEY ARE DEFECTIVE!

Terrible Fan and Static Noise
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Fan is really really really loud even with minimum tabs open and sometimes the fan runs for no reason. There is always static sound coming from inside the laptop.

Don’t Buy it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought it just over a year ago and have had multiple problems. not a good use of $1,200! Looks pretty but in 20 years of owning and using computers every day, this is the worst! First the touch pad stopped working, some times it works some times not. I took it to my tech guy and he said he had a few other HP Envy X360s in for the same problem. I now had to get an external mouse, which does work, but had to buy it and now have to remember to bring it every time I take my lap top somewhere otherwise I can’t use the lap top! The bigger problem is that when I turn it on, often the screen is just black. I have looked at HP discussion boards and there are a lot of people with this problem. My tech guy also says he has seen other HP Envy x360 with the same black screen problem. Today I am buying a new Dell and transferring all my data to that. Throwing the $1.200 HP in the garbage.

Very fragile laptop, stay away
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 4th HP laptop, I've only needed to replace them as they get old and slow, no real complaints until I bought one of these, horrible product. 1st the rubber strips underneath fell off, then the screen cracked, then the casing started to fall apart, now 1 of the hinges is faulty. This will be my last HP laptop.
